Rival recruiters have lauded the reigning premier’s draft haul after snaring versatile 193cm tall Jacob Van Rooyen at No. 19 and tall wingman Blake Howes at 39. The Demons had Howes right in the mix with their first selection and then, after opting for Van Rooyen as part of a close call, tried to strike a trade with Adelaide when Howes was still available at pick 36.

Rare in terms of getting both its targets with an average draft hand. It's just poorly worded.

I think Howes looks a much more natural footballer than Rosman

Can't get a good read on them. Looks neatly skilled without being a great kick for Howes. Decision making looks solid though.

A pretty revolutionary concept duzza. I’m sure you’d find JT would know where the coaches are planning on developing him.

Lots of talls in next years draft apparently, might be the plan to trade in again and grab one

It was encouraging to see. Our midfield lacks another player who can tuck the ball under their arm and go for a run. Wouldn't shock me if we throw him in the centre bounces to be honest.

It isn't really. These are guys going pick 40 odd, every side had multiple picks to grab them if they wanted. Maybe one of them becomes an absolute jet but it'll be an error of 17 other clubs then.

Howe has Collingwood origins I know that much
