No one really knows....I've seen nothing on Twitter other than people being very confused with what Basil said. Something does seem fishy, you'd think if he failed the medical it'd be impossible to keep it out of the media and Basil would have said something, wouldn't you? Claiming that Freo have "missed out" on Hogan makes it look like he's decided to stay at the Dee's himself...FWIW I reckon he's still Freo bound..

No, it's not irrelevant, if the footy departments goals involve only pick 5 for Hogan it is a complete and utter failure and we have been well and truly bent over.

Let me rephrase, I agree almost entirely with what you’ve said, the bigger picture and achieving our list goals are far more important than what the deal is on paper - for the most part. But if the club rolls over and accepts pick 5 alone, which I’m almost certain won’t happen, it will be a failure of a trade for a player who is easily worth two top 10 picks in the mind of any reasonable person (shout out to Sam McClure).

He was interviewed by Stevo not long ago on 7News and Jones said similar things to what he said when Luke Darcy questioned him. However according to Stevo, Melbourne has said Hogan didn't ask for a trade when he last met with Goody. He's still gawn I reckon.

Seen a few comments suggesting to grab May next year when he's a FA but I have to disagree. I'm of the thought like others that O. Mac & Frost in the same backline probably doesn't yield a premiership, with that being said, and without being dramatic, every year from here on in is a failure if the Dee's do not reach the ultimate success, waiting an extra twelve months for a player to become a FA or out of contract etc just doesn't cut it with me. Just my 2 cents!
