they do this to rotate the player not playing so the same player doesn't go more than a week without an actual match of footy, my guess is melky in the vest today

lipinski right at the top of the list after being dropped and the most afl proven richards second for mine due to upside and our needs then laitham, weightman and i wouldn't even bother with roarke he's a 6yr player with about 14 career games no thankyouuu

Liam "The Walpiri Wizard" Jurrah thanks -
couldnt agree more, plays the wing really well and across half forward Round 1: 26 touches, 9K17H not great but 96% efficiency (1 turnover) 62% of touches in offensive half Round 2: 2- touches, much better 10K10H still 85% eff, 61% defensive half very complete player just being squeezed out due to strength of depth with mclean to return next year too should never have made it purely on the basis that he looks like a bloody bald elf! biggest ears in the history of afl?

was that a red head joke

been on one year deals for some time now - not sure exactly how long @Lucifer's Heroany idea?

anyone who is expecting anything other than this is wrong. lets the player assess where the club goes and also sets themselves up for massive pay day based on other clubs offers we match or other offers they take. afl exchange podcast made a great point today that all clubs should look to backload all players contracts in their FA year in order for them to be RFA like gws did with corr who annually across his career is clearly not in their top 10% of earners but he was last year in order for them to receive compensation on the chance he leaves. going off the 2021 contracts forum it appears we've done the same with hunt somehow which must mean he's earning peanuts this year coz if that man is getting any more than about 500k all up over these two years we better take a long hard look at ourselves

Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?
Turner replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
bottom 6: hunt, sparrow, jordon, jones, historically i'd have nibbler but gee he's been good and tmac -
u been rubbing your nose in something the way that reads! it looked like he slowed down and actually didnt tuck up and bump but more let the saints bloke sorta drive into his hip, no issue but [censored] was there. the reason we got the win was our pressure we were constantly on them all the time! they very rarely had an uncontested possession where they were able to have time to use the ball well

difficult putting pressure on as a wingman sometimes, particularly how much we like using langdons side it becomes a lot of unrecognised running, coaches see it in gps results but it doesn't necessarily translate statistically hunt has had two bang average performances to date gus is our best option for that wing especially ahead of melksham so he gets to keep the spot, shoulda belonged to tommy phillips tho.
-
he is so close to being a gun forward does all the right things, just isn't striking them as well as we know he can. then watch out. also think his tackle pressure has improved a lot since last season

swing and a miss HFF

Turner replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
bit stiff to have jetta in there, u can't just go by bottom 6 for disposals coz thats not his job, thought he was fantastic on butler and co, they didn't get a sniff once ball hit ground. hunt will be turning in his sleep with hibbo breathing down his neck -
if this news is on the money it changes things slightly imo Chandler in to the 22 alongside Viney OUT: Harmes (wrist/nose), Sparrow we already had a glut of inside mids so we can afford to go 2 out and bring some spark into our side. Melky/Bedford into the vest Hunt is on the edge and 15 disposals minimum or its Hibberd from round 3 onwards and i don't trust him to earn his spot back through performance anytime soon. i find it amusing how many people were so excited to see Hunt sign a 2yr deal at end of last season and all of a sudden want him dropped, has there been a more unspectacular 9yr servant in our clubs history? wasn't up to it then not sure why he would be in these next two years

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MAJAK DAW
Turner replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
you've done ur research, mcdonald played a good game on the weekend or at least a good half so i gave him votes yes but i don't think it is sustainable or he deserves his spot once we have all our options available but time will tell and that opinion is allowed to change and i still hope he performs over the next month ofc as it benefits our side. my predicition would be that the club gives him a new one year deal that flattens out next years 700k salary into 2023 to more like 400k/yr (500/300ish split) but with that extra year security that maybe he wouldn't have been offered otherwise and then he can be satisfied as a 1 club player and become our depth tall instead of mbrown/majak for the next couple of years and we have more immediate coin to play with in next seasons budget. thats how i think the club will play it -
petracca wouldn't be able to do half of what he does without clarry giving the ball to him, yes trac is the dusty mould who walks out the front of stoppages, kicks goals and looks good doing it all but imagine if clarry wasn't burried under every pack it would be the oppo waltzing out the front door. as crucial cog as any in our side and that cannot be debated
-
hes OOC - i went to school with him, he told bevo in his exit meeting last year. i want to play back not forward to which bevo said you'll play where i pick ya. he said no i want to play back, bevo said ok but you'll start as our 42nd player ed said no worries and got to work. was playing really well vs collingwood in the vfl game on friday but then broke his leg/ankle and got stretchered off. i have a feeling a lot of clubs will be on the phone given the depth and strength of dogs in that position
-
vandemeer, ed richards, lipinski - theres a massive squeeze on at the doggies. jj in the 2s and mclean to come back from an acl next season too
