Farewell Toby Bedford
bedford was always one of my favourties due to taking the no12 which has always been my number thanks to col sylvia growing up as well as the romance of being a late pick from the NGA, sad to see him go but from a selfish pov can totally understand why he's done it, i hope he makes us regret underutilising him and has a lengthy career as a (slightly less than average sized) giant

Farewell Sam Weideman
i'm throwing Brayden Crossley's name out there again you'd think any chance to pay afl he'd take it but also who cares if in 2yrs the eagles throw coin at him to replace NicNat he's depth and we have 2x AA's ahead of him so we'll get a handy trade for him and we'd be able to just rinse and repeat the next state league ruck or grab someone off the trade merry-go-round we'd lose him as an OOC player at the end of '23 anyway, no way he'd sign on again then so may as well let him go now if he's not in the plans while he has a little bit of value ruckman have too much scope to go wrong, when they're drafted as an 18yo they still have so much development still to go -as in 4-5 more years- yes we've had some success over the years but recently King, Flip, Bradtke not so much. it's a much better strategy to let other clubs develop them/let them develop outside the system and then nab them when they're ready to go/proven. so i actually don't have too much of an issue with our strategies in this department

Josh Bruce
some people get proper brutal and aggressive on here towards others ideas and towards professional footballers, some of whom have had successful 10+ year careers. a weid-bruce swap would be worthwhile if we think we won't be able to re-sign weid next year after anothre year of vfl predominantly and given the squeeze at WB. could easily be our number 1 key forward by the bye u just never know. offer him 2 years on 350-400 and you've got yourself a deal i say. feel the criticism is unjustified and the faith in players under 20yo and under 10 games to just walk into a top 2 side and win a flag is probably too strong. look at the way the cats operate, 2-3yrs at vfl level before players get a crack to let them size up and be properly prepared. we're not a bottom side requiring to expose talent anymore, we're premiership contenders so we need depth who can take us there and bruce is a proven game changing key forward when he's up and running

2022 Player Reviews: #19 Fraser Rosman
bit of an aimless comment isn't it? given one of them is already a premiership player at the club... 33% aint bad

Farewell Sam Weideman
if we want good cheap ruck depth i hope we're considering rookie-ing or SPP/DFA-ing Brayden crossley, i indend on calling up the exchange boys and asking their opinions on his prospects of re-entering the comp and how he'd be allowed to do it as a previously delisted player although time ago. he looked seriously promising coming through as a youngster at the suns

Michael Hibberd & Jake Melksham set to sign 1 year contract extensions
probably might've if we'd been able to tie bedford down. i realise probably might've is as close to an oxymoron as you can get but i think it was a chance

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
i was all over this that off season, had him above BBB due to his upside and age to grow with our group, have absolutely no grudges given BBB took us to a flag but geez we coulda used him, hindsight 20:20 given weid stagnation but would be more than handy right about now

James Harmes off to Essendon?
i was young-ish when harmes first came through but i remember him being really dynamic forward of centre had an awesome goal sense, good sidestep and fend off and laid tackles and forward pressure. i distinctively remember him taking a huge hanger one day but have never been able to find it again since back in his #43 days. my memory might be wrong but we should be trying to get that side of him out of him more often when he is forward he definitely should still have a role at the club in 23
