PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
They are a tall side - 10 players 190cm and above. Long bombing ain’t gonna work this week ( not that it’s worked any other week either).

Well in terms of preferences, I want our t-bone medium rare and their porterhouse on the burnt side.

If Fritta has been dropped to find form, how does he do that by only playing a half of football at Casey? Doesn’t make sense to me. It’s like dropping Turner for one game when there was no VFL match for his form to improve. So it cannot be that they are trying to get them to recapture form at Casey, it’s more like “you’ve been naughty, now sit in the naughty corner till you are sorry for the mistakes you have made”.

That kinda says that our problems are all in the forward line, so let's blame them. No blame for the midfield for how they deliver into the forward 50.

Tom Fullarton
Good luck to him. Hope he goes well.

Which quarter/s IS it?
Stop belittling our boys Beelz - its 6 goals in 5 games, not 5!

What gets you excited about the club?
Haha but I think you get the bends rising, not going down. Luv the message though.

What gets you excited about the club?
Foolishly I get excited before the start of every game.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
By "all the other stuff", you mean simply being professional. Which he obviously hasn't been. He was professional once, he knows what's needed and expected - he obviously hasn't yet got that drive to make himself professional again.

If that's the case Binny, how is it that players who have much longer periods off the field through injury,ie Melksham, are able to come back to full fitness as a condition of being able to be selected - yet Clarry cannot?

I think Tracc has a long way to go before he is worthy of being captain: - he needs to gain some humility he needs to show that he cares for his teammates both on and off the field he needs to lead by example both on and off the field he needs to be far more selfless in his on-field play he needs to improve his basic football skills - kicking and handballing he has to make it abundantly clear that he is fully committed to the MFC for the length of his contract. he has to have regained the respect of everyone at the Club Only once he has done all that, he will be ready to lead our great Club, not before

Clarry owes us big time. After what we have had to put up with, with him, it's just so disrespectful to the MFC that he has turned up this year still nowhere near fit enough, and without the stamina or the willingness to bother to do the hard yards on the field. He is a complete shell of the player he was. He may as well not be getting the ball in hand anymore because he is in the bottom 5 players in the AFL for having first hands on the ball but not doing anything with it ie. not resulting in a clearance to us - according to Horne (?). Also in that bottom 5 in the whole AFL are Viney and Gawn. That is a disgraceful stat for our so called "elite" midfield group. I have great doubts that Clarry will come good - certainly not this year. I'm for trading him even though the return will be minimal. I think he is not healthy for our Club.

New coach prospects
If Jeffo comes good this year I'd vote for @picket fence as our coach - or at least as Chairman of Selectors.

The Luke Beveridge Thread
He'd need to bring Darcy as well!

Time to go Goody?
I might not be too smart, but surely if we stopped our turnovers in the forward half (by smart targeting, rather than long bombing, as well as even numbers up forward) this will stifle a lot of the opposition fast turnover ball movement - and thus reduce both the pressure on our defenders and the opposition scoring. Which would negate the need for stifling defensive tactics, and boring play.

Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
I'm confused, i thought he was 19, and his draft year was last year.

What we have lost
Give me a break. I’m invested about an hour a day, at no cost to the club. Those “genuinely invested” are full time employees being paid a considerable sum. They must be [censored] themselves they are going to lose their jobs. As they should be.

Letter from Brad Green
I think as supporters, most of us would love to have heard Brad say something along the lines of: “As a Board we cannot accept the type of performances we are seeing out on the field this season. As such we have asked the football department to respond to 3 simple questions asap: What is the problem(s)causing the way we are currently performing? And what are the causes of these problems? How are you planning on fixing these issues? When will these issues be fixed?” While I wouldn’t expect this is a public letter, I do expect that the Board would be asking these very same questions in private to Richardson and Goodwin. And if they haven’t then we have another issue. If the response seems reasonable I’d give the football department 4 weeks to see significant improvement, or else. If the response appears to just be waffle, then the “or else” happens now. Personally I feel there is something very wrong behind the scenes at the Club. Our players are, mostly,,too good to be performing the way they are. Whether it is coach related, or Oliver / Petracca related, or something else entirely, whatever it is, it needs to be identified and weeded out asap.

He’s only 69 Old Dee. If he is healthy and fit, age shouldn’t be an issue at all. It’s his qualities and experience we are after.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Like Ritchie, umpire 22 is dead to us as well, - unlike Ritchie, 22 unfortunately keeps haunting us.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
I think it's actually a good bit of both GW. I have been an avid reader of DL, but for the first time I'm not as regular as i was and also find that in some posts I'm skipping pages to get to the last post - something i would never have done previously, for fear of missing some good comments. All we need are few good wins, and things will be swinging again. Just not sure when that will be.
