Hore maybe?
-
I don’t think the score line matters (except the “apprentice” would be within his rights to gloat a bit to the “Master”). What does matter if anyone here was able to pick out how we overcame the issues we had last year - which any good coach would be aiming to fix, surely. Forward entry / connection? - anyone notice any changes or improvements? Ball handling and kicking skills? - improvement? Center connection and clearances? - again, improvements? I didn’t see all of the match, but from what I did see, I couldn’t recognise any real improvements or system changes at all. So please convince me we did! Otherwise, given the way I saw the tigers play, I might wish that we had hung onto the “apprentice” - who, given time, might well become the “Master”.

FFS, perhaps we should have also gotten rid of Gawn after his third knee op. His body was obviously not up to it either.
-
Maybe it's more than just fitness that might keep Clarry away from the ones.

It would be nice if the Club would!

I was hoping Hore would fill Hibberd's role.

Finally, only one more sleep.....

PRESEASON TRAINING: Saturday 17th February 2024
Neil Crompton replied to WERRIDEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks for turning up and reporting @WERRIDEE and @Jontee and @kev martin. Much appreciated. -
Respect your opinion, but sorry, I just don’t agree with it. You say we were mugs to not take Adelaide’s offer. To me that immediately casts doubt on the sensibilities of our Trading Team - and based on past years of performance, that would be totally out of character. Besides, I don’t remember what they were offering us in return! That also assumes that Petty, although somewhat injury prone now, won’t ever come good. Take the example of Joel Smith. He had 5 or 6(?) years where his body, and circumstance, let him down. But he finally got his body right and he was worth the wait (before he shot himself in the foot). Petty is a far better footballer than Smith IMV, and as such, the Club are more likely to work with him till he gets his body right, just as they did with Smith. He’s a keeper for mine - unless he wants to head back to SA at some stage.

You never get sick of that footage do you! Thanks Six6Six.

The Dees Incredibly Frustrating to Watch
Neil Crompton replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think that's a lot of unfair baggage to be dumping on JVR, Binny. For goodness sake, Melksham missing may have cost us the game. Petty missing may have cost us the game. Brayshaw missing probably cost us the game. BBB missing may have cost us the game. Poor kicking at goal certainly cost us the game. Despite your comment to the contrary, you have "hanged the young fella out to dry" unfairly in my opinion. -

Can there even be a half-time in a 7-quarter game? -

There is a rumour going round that WCW will be the half-time entertainment on Sunday. -

Comon WCW. Give us a tune! -
Given the injuries, I'd propose the following for Round 0: McVee May Tomlinson Rivers Lever Hore Langdon Petracca Windsor ANB JVR Billings Fritsch Schache Spargo Gawn Brayshaw Viney Salem Bowey Sparrow Turner Sub: Howes / Chandler
-
What are insinuating WCW? And if you know something why haven’t you mentioned this before for goodness sake? My god girl, it’s only been 5 months since the event!

I heard he also had a tooth ache. -
I'm afraid that 2021 was the year OD was in world record pessimistic form. I think the GF win has mellowed him a fair bit, thankfully. Cheers OD!

With all these injuries to our forwards, just as well we have Joel Smith. Oh, wait a minute…
-
And you cannot afford too many more hits to the head WCW 😁

Sorry but Alves was a favourite of mine - and a Club great. Why would you feel the need to make such a comment?

Well if Dusty is allowed to do it in general play, why shouldn’t Max be allowed to do it at ruck contests? He has been unfairly discriminated against up until now.
