I think it was not only a heart-felt, but also an extremely smart and well planned statement by Greeny. Anyone that wants to listen, won’t bother with any more “Oliver and Trac are wanting to leave” shiiite. And now the focus is not so much on Kossy, nor the MFC, but on Freo and WC. We have got on the front foot for once, which is a really pleasing change. The statement as a whole shows that despite the BS media [censored], we are a united and focused club. And who better to say all this than our President!

I luv Clarry, but he had a shocking year last year by his standards, there can be no denying that. With his hand injury and his lack of pre-season, he was often a liability, rather than what we are all used to. So much so, that I couldn't understand why he wasn't rested to heal his hand. Long bow, but maybe if we had rested him, he may not have suffered the knee issue or the broken ribs and therefore been able to come back once the hand was right and see out the season playing more to his usual standard. Who knows, with Clarry firing again, we have even made the finals. Some have said that we didn't rest him because we didn't have a suitable replacement (as if anyone could adequately replace Clarry!). However, players like Laurie would have welcomed the chance to prove himself by playing a string of games in his absence. The only other reason i can imagine for not resting him was that management were perhaps concerned Clarry might lapse back into bad habits if not fully involved in the team. We may never know, but so glad he appears to be fit and firing this pre-season.

I wouldn’t have thought that there would be too many posters on here who didn’t know who “chin” or “disco” were. We’ve all made the effort, though constant reading of posts, to learn the nicknames of the players. Our track reporters don’t need criticism for using this shorthand while posting. @WCW even posted a list of all the nicknames last year I think. Perhaps her better half, @Ghostwriter, could repost that list. A new poster I can understand not knowing, but for someone who has read training reports for two years, these nicknames should be second nature I would have thought.
