Rivers behind Hunter? Big yikes
-
Still remember the exact moment I knew we were going to win it in the 4th, sitting on my coffee table inches away from my 65" TV. I had no words, only tears.

I couldn’t possibly hate Collingwood any more than I do

Thanks to both for their service, especially Tmac who has been a great servant across many roles over the years. They have nothing to offer moving forward from here though.

I’ll interact with this forum however I like. No need to act like my mum.

Oh look, another doom and gloom thread that could’ve been a comment on 100 other threads

Whether you like it or not, our game plan is centred around winning contest almost all of the time and hustling the ball forward. Make no mistake, this is by design. You can’t have it all. If we trade in an elite user to sit on the outside oppo’s will just lock them down. I think we are better off finding a way to deal with the chaos entries rather than re-architecting our midfield. I know everyone’s memory seems to be very short lately, but we won a flag and finished top 4 3 years in a row with this game plan. To suggest it doesn’t stack up makes no sense. We need a better run injuries wise and for our small forwards like kozzy to learn how to impact big games and then we’re are right in the box seat again.

We’ll finish next year top 4 again and with any luck injury wise we’ll be a real chance again. Having no consistent forward structure is always going to be a big ask in September. We win everywhere else. I love following the Dee’s while we finish top 4 year after year, I’ll take this over the neeld era any day. Catch ya next year DL

Our problem all year has been poor starts. I’ll take this at half time any day. Reckon we’ll win this …

If we aren’t running through walls and ready to absolutely explode tonight we will lose Fire up boys

Because Clarry has many times before taken a dive. I get it, it’s annoyed me at times too.

Tom Papley only because of that stupid face he makes when he kicks a goal.

Nailed it, great post. Reading it has me ready to run through walls. I bet the playing group are feeling the same right now.

Maynard must get at least four weeks

No judgment. I’m as angry as the next man. Some comments are too ridiculous to go unquoted though. -

Relax my friends, the AFL will appeal this decision. -
What They are Saying at Princes Park - SF

Very little confidence this week unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong. -
"What could Maynard have done differently?" For a start, not making a largely unrealistic attempt at a smother by leaving the ground at speed and then turning your shoulder inside to knock someone in a completely vulnerable position into next week, causing the likely end of their AFL career and potential long term detrimental health issues? Amazing how we see players smothering the ball 100's of times week in week out yet only (to my memory) have we seen such a catastrophic outcome in this case alone. Huge line in the sand moment for the AFL, they've done the right thing by grading it appropriately. Footy act or not (what a stupid term that is by the way), severe impact is severe impact and it must be punished.

Of all the guys this could have happened to, why did it have to be Gus? Genuinely upset over this. Maynard is a dog, and he’ll cop his 3 weeks here. There is no way a hit with this sort of outcome can be excused, regardless of intent (which isn’t necessarily a defence these days anyway). Maynard knew damn well what he was trying to do and he succeeded. -
I predict we’ll win our next 3 games.

Always loved Jayden, so happy for him
