Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
Smokey replied to pitmaster's topic in Melbourne Demons
You tell me - what are the obvious outward signs of a ruptured spleen that the medico's could identify on the sidelines? -

To anyone lamenting our medico's for "allowing" him back on to the ground - the extent of the injuries were not known until he went to hospital. All they really have to go on is whether the player themselves thinks they can continue play or not. -

You obviously haven’t served have you. Out of respect for those that have, please stop with this absolute rubbish.

So just say that. No need to bring in misguided sentiment.

That’s because football is not war and the MCG is not Gallipoli Calm down with the metaphors

Time for a Change….Don’t wait another 2 years…
Smokey replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
This will go down as a tragic mistake on the part of our board. Yze had a lot to offer and some fresh eyes that are already close with the playing group would be perfect right now. -

Someone. Anyone. Would have loved it to be Yze. -

We haven't seen eye to eye over the years mate but we couldn't possibly be in a more furious state of agreement right now -

@Sir Why You Little The Ferrari metaphor couldn't be any more accurate. I hope the club takes this opportunity to clean back of house, because we've absolutely been asleep at the wheel since round 10 2022. -
It’s time to sack Goodwin. Thanks for your service mate, but you have nothing left to offer.

We’re not far off a rebuild for mine. Happy we got one flag out of this list but at this point we aren’t even close to a top 8 team. RIP
-
I’d like to see Maynard leave the G in an ambulance before quarter time please
-
“The team with the highest score at the end of the 4th quarter will win this match” -BT pregame, probably

When's the last time we lost a game like Carlton did last night? 2019? We're not perfect, but at least we never get blown away like that.

Sure, there was context for sure. But numbers are numbers. For the record, I haven’t personally called Petty out this year. I get why some would though. I just don’t find any value in people who make points in hindsight.
-
Petty has been below average all year, how easy to take pot shots at someone who has called that out after he has one good game for the first time this year. Lazy commenting mate.
-
Carlton such pretenders. Pies looking better, unfortunately.

Something something 8 point game blah blah just get it done boys

I knew Gav during my time in Afghan. RIP mate. Lance Corporal Gavin was born in Manly, NSW, in 1982. He enlisted in the Army in 2004. On completion of his basic training and initial employment training he was posted as an infantryman to the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment, in Townsville in 2005. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in January 2009. He was a highly-qualified soldier, having completed specialist training as a combat first aider, Pashtu linguist and infantry support weapons operator. Lance Corporal Gavin was a highly-respected member of the 2nd Battalion. He was acknowledged by his superiors for his positive attitude and loyalty. His subordinate soldiers were motivated by his professionalism, mateship and outstanding specialist skills. He was also known for being a devoted husband and father.

On the contrary, I think its very encouraging that our younger players can step up like that when our senior guys aren't at their best.
-
Petty has fallen off a cliff. Looks nowhere near it. Cant see how he holds his spot.

We can’t play that sort of footy against Geelong and expect to win

I loved the way he went about it when he debuted but for mine is a bit underdone. The potential is clearly there though
