  1. Tongue in cheek mate, no malice intended
  2. Love the enthusiasm Hutchy, but all these threads are the equivalent of a meeting that could have just been an email
  3. Not sure about that, 2nd plays 3rd on Saturday night. 1st vs 13th ain't game of the round.
  4. Good. Hope they end up walking a mile or two.
  5. Hilarious that more than one person in that thread believe they defend better than us
  6. Peak MFCSS indeed. LJ hurts his finger and suddenly we're freaking out about him being homesick and wanting a trade back to WA. Hilarious
  7. Say what you want about his career to date, he clearly has the right tools to become one of the better key forwards and is vital to the longevity of our premiership window. I reckon we're about to the see the best of SW yet ...
  8. not ideal, but really keen to see SW
  9. Weids for sure. His technique is near perfect
  10. The title should be "Goody's ONLY big change of 2021" since you've credited him for playing ANB, and not much else.
  11. Are you able to show me another time Sam has kicked 14 goals in 3 consecutive games in the VFL? If not, the answer to your question is right now. This conversation has been had ad-nauseum, but I'll say it again - key forwards take time to develop. Sam is coming into the what should be the beginning of his prime. Most great forwards don't become great until at least 5 or 6 years in the system. There is an abundance of examples available on this. Tom Hawkins comes to mind, in his first 5 season he was floating around the 20-30 goals a year mark, then kicked 62 in his 6th season. From a list management perspective, are you expecting BB and Tmac to be fully fit and to be our number 1 and 2 key forwards for the next 5 years? Nope, they're too old for that. Even in the immediate term, what other depth do we have for key forwards? Mitch Brown wont be getting a contract next year. You say the reason we got Ben Brown was because Sam was letting down our structures? Is that your inside knowledge talking or just your opinion? It sounds ridiculous to me, because it was pretty clear at the time that we got Ben Brown as the number 1 to play alongside Sam, not Tom. We tried to trade Tmac, remember? Key forwards don't grow on tree's, letting Sam go would be an enormous gamble that I don't think we can afford to make. I don't see the value proposition in any case.
  12. Sam is the young forward for the long run. We've put years of development into him and he's finally starting to fire. Why lose him just to pick up another "young forward" we need to put years of development in to? Yeah, nah.
  13. You know its entirely possible to simply not comment on threads you don't wish to discuss? Try it out, it works a treat for most adults on Demonland.
  14. Yes, because the written thoughts of fans online are critical to the teams chances for success in September
  15. Funny you mention that, since we’ve been flying I think I’ve watched pretty much every other game. Something I haven’t done in many years. How good is footy
  16. No Viney no centre clearances it would seem. Hope he gets up next week, I reckon we’ll see the difference right away
  17. I’ve been somewhat critical of Viney’s game these last few seasons, but it’s abundantly clear to me that our midfield does not function well without him at CB’s. Like last week, the boys have given me another level of confidence with that win. Sydney were fantastic last night, and choking out a good team throwing everything at us for 4 quarters is another feather for our cap.
  18. Funny how you guys aren’t mentioning Gawn. He has been soundly beaten last few weeks, and co hosts the podcast. Social media engagement is a key part of revenue strategies these days, and Gus is absolutely hilarious so it makes perfect business sense to have him on a podcast with Gawny. Aside from that, they do the podcast in their own time for the benefit of the club. It’s not like he’s skipping training to record it. Some people here have a very strange dad complex with the players and think they have right to comment on what they do in their own time. Totally bizarre to me. Do you honestly think he would play better if he didn’t record a 45 minute podcast? Give me a spell, stop looking for problems to discuss while we’re flying.
  19. Not wrong. That’s exactly what you sound like
  20. I can’t believe we’re 8-0 wow
  21. As horrible as last week was, I hardly flinched and expected to win at all stages of the game. Crazy times
  22. How good are the dees!!! Melbourne by 24. Game on at 3/4 quarter time then we’ll do our usual thing and pull away in the last
  23. This bloke has the easiest job in the world I reckon. All he ever has to do is say something provocative toward a group of members, doesn't matter what it is, as long as its contrarian. That's it, job done. He's the Kyle Sandilands of AFL media. Causing outrage is a business these days. The saddest part of that is that is works.
  24. predictable journalism is ... predictable BB and Tmac aren't young, so its extremely important to keep Sam for the long term in my view. And I reckon the club will find a way to make that happen.
