Review Finds Collingwood Guilty of Systemic Racism
Smokey replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd go with a laugh, because thankfully ignorant views such at those here who are suggesting racism is a fictitious creation of the left are few and far between on this forum. -
Review Finds Collingwood Guilty of Systemic Racism
Smokey replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
Welcome to Demonland Rita Panahi -
And it will happen again this year, except they aren't exactly a young team anymore
-
I thought he was fairly serviceable last year. He's no star, but he appears to hold his own down back mostly.
-
Well what is it, play our strongest team or trial things?
-
Fascinating to see how May is perceived on DL now versus when he arrived at the club Speaks volumes of May. Wish he was captain
-
Hard to imagine our best 22 with Tmac starting at CHF after his performance over the last 2 years. I don't care how fit he looks this pre-season needs to earn his way back into the side.
-
Serious question to those here who don't think Wiz Jnr should get a spot on our list: Who would you give the spot to instead? I really don't see the harm in having him on the rookie list next year to see how he goes. We ain't gonna win a flag anytime soon without making at least some high risk/high reward moves ...

As they say, money can't buy happiness ... Hope he's doin alright though, I never wish hard times (outside of the football field) on any player.
-
Whatever ends up happening, I expect to see Steve May's name in there somewhere. He is everything our group needs in a leader.
-
Bit of an overreaction from many on here. He never said Kozzie is as good as Cyril was at the same age. Just says hes doing similar things. And I reckon Jordy is in a better position than anyone here to make such comparisons. Calm your collective farms, and enjoy some favorable commentary from someone most of us here respect.

In fairness, May is one of the better one on one defenders getting around. Thanks for the great report

Yeah, nah. Anyone this clueless about personal data security gets zero sympathy from me in this day and age. Thick as 2 short planks is Patton. As a public figure, its seriously poor judgement on his part sending these sorts of images over the internet. Also, you offering an opinion on whether or not the female has the right to be offended by his behaviour isn't your place. A woman should have the right to deal with unwanted sexual advances in any way she see's fit. He offered to pay her money, as if any women on earth should be willing to prostitute themselves for him. This shows his character to be that of one who does not respect women at all. Trying to fly the flag for him him here only makes you look the same way.

So he acts like a complete degenerate, treating women with disrespect for who knows how long. Finally gets pulled up, and now he's having a mental health crisis and needs to be in hospital? Yeah, nah. Doesn't sit right at all does it. Zero sympathy for a bloke who treats women like this.

Off-season outlook: Pressure will be on Melbourne and Simon Goodwin
Smokey replied to M_9's topic in Melbourne Demons
I haven't been a fan of Goody for awhile now, but I'm backing him in for top 4 thanks to his new supporting cast. -
Not sure that's true considering the price we pay for him.

Jonathan Brown to take Sam Weideman under his wing
Smokey replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like the sound of that. Good to see the club thinking outside the box and bringing in top talent in different capacities. -

So is Browny actually mentoring Sam, or did they just have a one off chat? -
If I had a dollar for every time I've read that on DL I'd be retired at age 34

Perhaps an email to the club will be more effective than a post on Demonland ...

If he gains that mobility, I'd love to see him tried on a wing. Not interested in seeing him up forward unless covering an injured player.
-
When I see names like this I always assume the parents have spent much of their life receiving unemployment benefits
-
I'd be very wary of moving Salem off HB. His kicks out of the back 50 set up so many of our scoring opportunities. I like where our backline is at, we should find the answers to our forward 50 connection elsewhere.
-
Ok i'll bite. Let's look at your first example here. Roughead kicked 6 goals from 16 games in his first season. Also had 8 hit outs for the season, so you can safely assume he spend most of his time up forward. LJ; 3 goals 6 games. Also, 29 hit outs in those 6 games. So not only did LJ average more goals, he did it while spending less time in the forward line. In a season of shortened quarters.
