I have watched the game again and for reasons that I wanted to see for myseif the frees that were given to both the sides and if they were there. At one stage we were leading the count 3 to 7 MELB and at the end of it we were in arrears 18 to 14 MELB . Although there was instances where Tyson could have been deemed as holding the ball in front of the Wce goals , the umpire became lenient and gave us the benefit of the doubt. There was one with Vanders on the HFF which could have gone against him but we worked a goal out of it. All in short. There are ifs and but in in frees and l am not saying that they can or cannot win you games however there are times they have a saying and it can hurt a side. IMO. I believe the Umpires were instructed to not be perceived as been favourable towards WCE due to the crowd atmosphere and the pressure it places upon them. 3 Victorian Umpires over 700 games between them. Schmitt, Hoskin and Stevic. They were there to umpire the game and not to be noticed. Well done.

Yes Lobb, he can play but even though Gawn was a touch down dew to a corky on his calf recently, the game against the Eagles was almost back to AA status. Gawn is on top of his game and at his best he is a match winner and vital to us winning. Lobb will have his hands full. Who would you back? Gawn hands down.

I can get so emotional over the Dees. They are almost my favourite and happy times when Finals come along and we are there. It has been so long however we were going to get there sooner rather than later. If we happen to go to the last day of the year and l can only dream , l will be a wreck if the Dream comes true. James Harmes is very underrated although he was consistent at times, his disposals with hand and foot were just average. However he is quick and now for some reason or another his last month has been elite to the extent where having not only tagged but nullified players in the calibre of Dangerfield and Ablett in separate quarters.He also put Sloan to the sword which helped us beat the Crows. l rate him high and is important a player as Brayshaw, Petracca and Clarry are to our team makeup and as a midfielder.

I am disappointed that we were beaten today however the positive out of this game was the improvement that Frosty has made over the time he was given his chance and strung several games together which have been more than serviceable. He held his own against Buddy and outsprinted him to win his own ball and also took the game on at will. Why Goody played J Smith and Petty in front of Frosty against St Kilda? The mind Boggles.Two lesser bodies at the time not up to it, 8 games between them and the Saints beat us by 2 points. Goody got it wrong at selection. That hurts.

Bernie when you first came to the us l hoped that Roos was doing right by recruiting you to our club.You see we were going through hard and dark times and couldn't see the reason. It is so frustrating that the umpires can find so many more free kicks to interstate teams such as West Coast + 79 differential. More so them as they have been consistently given more free kicks at home. They call the umpires professionals and they don't get it right most of the time. How do the umpires get sucked in by there fans. They are so biased West coast fans DITTO. We need 3 Victorian umpires for the away game against the Eagles. It might just even out the free kicks. Yes the free kick count plays a part and can have an influence in games with tiggy touch frees in front of goals and so on. We lost a game there not so long ago. 2016 by 6pts. Yes l am whinging.
