  1. This exactly. Have said it before, it’s the bottom 6-8 players that make a huge difference in winning and losing. And if Vanders is in our bottom 6 then we are going places. He had a massive impact last night with his contested work, a reason the rest of the group reacted so positively to him when he joined the main training group a few weeks back. They knew what his inclusion to the team meant.
  2. And how ironic that Selwood once told Chunk he was the worst captain in the AFL, step aboard the Karma Bus duckwood
  3. Great article. You can sense that there is a huge resolve amongst this playing group, or the “22 brothers” as Mas says. I think Gee-so-long are in for a torrid time on Friday
  4. Geelong are slow old hacks. Get out of the way, there’s a new kid in town
  5. Dont agree. Charlie runs all day, gets where the ball is, and he had a hand in a few goals. For a 19yo he is terrific
  6. Sam Weideman currently out on the ground having shots at goal, has not kicked one yet!
  7. True, but unless they are unrestricted free agent, you still have to trade for them
  8. Probably quite a while. But they have picked up some handy free agency players! Anyway, I thought the topic was about Jake Lever? The comment from the previous poster was that it is good for us that Adelaide's pick is diminished due to our higher finishing position - this is irrelevant as we have still given up 2 first round picks that we are now unable to use.
  9. Yes we have, and on latest form, it should be a win for us. However, let's not forget he has had 2 knee reconstructions now, and the Alex Johnson misfortune can remind us that there are no guarantees.
  10. Yeah, but our first pick will be high 20's, so how is that a win for us?
  11. Well said DeeSpencer. This Nate Jones bashing has become very tiresome. The guy bleeds red and blue, he is a true club legend. The best part about Sunday was that vision of him at the final siren. It epitomised the feelings a lot of us have shared in this thread......pure joy.
  12. And when we do win the flag next year, I think Rod Grinter should pay the t..d a visit and replace his teeth via his back passage
  13. If not selected this week, i think it will be a mutual parting. If selected, it will be entirely up to him to show he wants to stay
  14. I mentioned in another thread that my information is that, at this stage, he will be seeking a trade at end of year. He is not happy with the limited opportunities he has had, citing that he gets the chop very easily whilst others seem to get different treatment. I suppose 15 games in 3 years would tend to back that up. At this stage, I really do not know what to make of him as he has not had a decent stint in the ones to settle in to a role. But I would suggest that if he is not selected this week, he is gone.
  15. Forget about Weideman, my intel is that he will be seeking a trade to Geelong at seasons end. A very close relative of mine knows him
  16. Not if West Coast match any offer, then we have to trade
  17. It’s a journey Jshc. Look at it this way - we are the only team in the competition to have increased number of wins every year since 2013 (regular season). That to me shows improvement. We are not far off, hang in there.
  18. Yes he is injured. My seat is very close to the interchange bench and he hobbles badly when he comes off. Maybe knee, or possibly ankle. Anyway, they should rest him at least next week, and bring Weideman in. This injury is affecting his confidence, ability to compete in the air, and his kicking. As to trading him, I think that all depends on his intentions from 2020 onwards. If he wants to go back home, then get the deal done.
  19. This exactly! Especially the bit about taking chances. As strange as it may sound, i thought we were actually the better team on the day. Hogan is clearly carrying a knee injury, it is affecting his confidence. Whenever he came off he was hobbling like an 80 year old
  20. Collingwood have kicked 5 goals in a half at an indoor stadium. Flag contenders? I think not.
  21. And a major part of that wheel is Max Gawn. If he does not get up for this game then we are in serious trouble. Timing sucks doesn’t it.
  22. Absolutely!
  23. Good comment
  24. Yeah, but we are a way better side now. First team to 2000 points for, by a mile
  25. Clearly the folk over at Sportsbet dont suffer MFCSS. out to $7 to miss the eight, into $2.10 for top 4, and now $8 for the flag. Time to start believing me thinks.
