Yeah I don't mind letting brayshaw go or even viney (more reluctant). But we had this problem years ago. with 2 early picks we picked Strauss and Sam Blease to address exactly the same problems. It's just another reminder that picks don't equate actually getting it right.

Oliver is great defensively. One of a few that consistently busts his [censored] off. People are nuts to contemplate trading a 23 yr old, 2 x bnf and all-australian because of the flaws in his game. his kicking is on par with treloar, macrae and other all-australians. Do people forget the last time we tried to hit the draft to attain speed and foot skills? We picked up watts, Strauss and blease in the same draft! That put us back a couple of years.

100% agree. Brayshaw and Sparrow out. I can't see Sparrow ever being much. He isn't quick like he was advertised and his ball drop is with 2 hands. Trade them both. Trading Oliver? yeah no.

its not a big enough sample size. 7 games. Petracca put a blow torch to the ball for 5 years in front of goal and he has had his fair share of scrubbers this year.

Notice how Gerard Healy on the couch and Gary Lyon haven't mentioned Clayton Oliver the last 3 weeks? and Gerard even pointed out that he is having a great season. it's always very trendy to knock a player after a few shocking kicks. Weideman had 3 butchers of the ball on the weekend and that cost us 3 goals but because they were for goal, they get forgotten. knocking oliver because of his kicking is equivalent to saying nick riewoldt needed to be dropped because he had kicking yips that lasted several years. Oliver) has areas to improve in his game but to even mention them is a disservice to what he does offer. elite tackling, power at the stoppages and elite hands. Petraccas kicking isn't great but his strengths this season far outweigh his kicking.

You don't go from being one of the games best taggers to not knowing how to. I don't recall him being given a total clamp down role like he used to have.

Why isn't Harmes tagging anymore? Harmes played his best footy as a tagger. It got him engaged in the game and he was one of the first picked players when he was in this role. Another example of Goodwins inabilities as a coach.
