  1. Wow, are you joking?? Oliver is quick. very quick. How can you say he is slow? He would beat all of our mids over most distances for speed. That's why I like Oliver. He has speed that none of our other mids have.
  2. Dr.D

    Umpiring

dangerous tackle. And that was correct. He had one of his arms and dumped him to the ground. was always gonna get paid in this climate
  3. I agree.i think jettas career is almost finished unless he can improve his speed and agility. has slowed down almost overnight
  4. Sorry Binman. I don't agree. McDonald has no real feel for the game. he has no closing speed, he is weak for his size, his foot skills are ok but his decisions are tentative and that's why he is consistently a whipping boy.
  5. The thing is, the moment he get 90% tog in the guts he'd be another top10 brownlow finisher
  6. Yep. like I said, I'm going to keep everyone accountable for their mistakes. Everytime Oliver is one of Melbourne's best players on the night I will remind people that they believe him to be a liability.
  7. Season is [censored] I'm sick of this 'Oh we've played 5 of the top 8 teams' cr@p. We should be a top 4 team and it's frustrating because I have to sit watching the game truly believing that I could coach this team to the top 4. (hand on heart). Like why would goodwin start with Jetta on Cameron? Rankin destroyed Jetta 3 weeks earlier, so it was scary thinking what Cameron would do. Fortunately, the obvious move was made and Hibberd was put on Cameron. But it's stuff like this that Goodwin doesn't seem to understand.
  8. was referencing half of demonlands desire for Oliver to be dropped 3 weeks ago. Crazy
  9. Yeah, I just find it amusing that since people were demanding Oliver to be dropped he has been our 1st, 3rd and 4th best player according to the official match report. He is our best clearance player and our best tackler. Viney is great too but because Oliver is significantly quicker then he chases down more people. Oliver is quietly having a career year. Out: Weideman, Brayshaw In: McDonald, Tomlinson If you can't kick straight as a forward you need to be punished and Weideman cost us tonight.
  10. He should have soccered it off the ground but I don't expect many players to have high footy IQ. Let alone Oscar McDonald
  11. Oliver needs to be dropped. He is a real liability with his kicking and decision making.... :s
  12. Still wondering why the people that wanted Oliver dropped aren't still wanting him dropped?..oh he's fixed his kicking and decision making in 2 weeks? LOL. People are so dumb
  13. He is a robot. How is he supposed to rev the boys up by being as boring as a stick. Maybe that's why Goodwin is getting bottom 4 results from a top 4 list.
  14. Meh, he doesn't show emotion to the players at the quarter or 3 quarter time breaks. I'm not going to be blinded by this rubbish. We should be a top 4 team with our list. 17th last year and 12th now. not bloody good enough.
  15. Isn't it fair to assume that Petracca needs to win multiple best and fairests and an all-australian guernsey before he can be matched with Oliver. A part of being a stat is to produce over a sustained period. Petracca hasn't done that. Jackson was rated very very high. Most other teams would've picked him over Hayden Young imo. The question mark over Jackson is he is undersized for a ruck.
  16. Agree. I'm sorry Binman but as great as it is that Petracca is playing well, it's bittersweet as it's taken 6 years to get there which is too long. I'm confident that Petracca could have reached this level years ago had he have put in the work. It doesn't take 6 years to develop the endurance tank to play midfield.
  17. When they're 18 or now? If now, id take petracca marginally. If at 18, i'd take Oliver by an country mile. You can't exclude the 4 years of top shelf football that Oliver has played while Petracca was wasting away in the forward 50. So if they were in the same draft, at 18, Oliver by a mile.
  18. Please never ever mention Bradtke. The guy is a vfl reserves quality player. Tom McDonald has proven to have gone severely backwards since 2018. Has really slowed down. Jackson is a predominant ruckman. Weideman is a good prospect. Petty has debilitating injuries and hasn't proven himself yet (even though I rate him). So enter Wright. Never hurts to have depth as we've seen with Tom McDonald that things can slow down very quickly.
  19. that's like saying you'd prefer Lockhart over Oliver because people wanted Oliver dropped.. Those people have cowardly gone into their shells
  20. We've got to go hard for Peter Wright. Exactly what we need. With regards to Jackson: I'm really happy with how he looks. It's so comforting to know that life after Gawn is now assured given Jackson develops the way i think he will. He would flourish as a number 1 ruck and is so agile. i think when he stacks on 10kg he will also be much better forward. Pickett fitted such a need for us. And he makes us a lot quicker. I do think that Spargo may be on the outter Also, I rate Petty very highly, especially as a forward so I think his development is vital for us.
  21. not disagreeing with you but Oliver has been elite for many years. petracca has been elite for 7 games. big difference.
  22. You didn't watch the replay closely then. I watched it too. and can count about 4 severe kicking errors where he was under no pressure. I don't have issues if he is playing inside mid, but if you're playing on the wing then you need to be able to hit targets. He was hopeless.
  23. Yes..and? Oliver offers much more outside of kicking than brayshaw.
  24. seriously dude, watch the game and not read the bloody stats. He had so many kicks that didnt even get in the air and were just mongrelled along the ground. Suburban footy stuff.
  25. good coaching? geez. Goodwin is the only reason we aren't a top 4 team. When's the last time T.McDonaldhas taken marks like Weideman did on the weekend? Weideman should've been the clear choice. These guys have been playing competitive footy for 10 years plus, you don't lose your ability. Nor do you improve greatly on a week to week basis. Like Bennell. he was chosen for selection, played 50% game time which equates to 32 minutes and then is told he needs to work on a few things. Jesus Christ, good coach? lol
