  1. the fact that you don't acknowledge Picketts flaws is fine. In a full season, you're mentioning one piece of play? which is the best thing he has done all year. how is it wrong regarding petracca? This is his first year playing fulltime mid. Why couldn't he be playing full time mid at least 1 or 2 seasons ago? I'm yet to hear a reason. It doesn't take 5 years to build an aerobic base good enough to play midfield.
  2. yeah it's a joke and it has been for years. Even Geelong are still benefiting from the father and son rule with Hawkins arguably the best player in the comp for about pick 40 or something.
  3. I wouldn't say Steven May is in career best form. We coughed up a very high draft pick for a known gun of the competition. Weideman hasn't improved. In fact he hasn't played 1 game that has come close to matching his 24, 3 goal game against Geelong in the 2018 finals. Petracca has improved this year but the question has got to be asked why it took Goodwin 6 years to get him fit enough to play midfield. Hibberd has been a previous All-australian. He has been good this year without being great. Not even sure why you are mentioning the 3 draft picks. They are chosen by Jason Taylor and the jury is well and truly out on Pickett whose lack of composure has been stark. The proof will lie in 5 years time as to whether they become good afl players. So out of the 44 players on the list maybe 2 or 3 players have improved under Goodwin. The rest have stayed the same or got worse. He needs to go. And we need less suppporters that are content with mediocrity or scraping into the finals. Have people forgotten that we were aiming for top 4? I accept nothing less. The majority of people that don't post, share my views. They are simply over the mfc and the endless promises of being a ruthless football club.
  4. So he's crap for a reason? whatever the reason, injury or otherwise, he is now a very average player. that's not harsh, it's a reality.
  5. yeah it's an enigma as brayshaw and Harmes also played with viney in 2018. tmac should be in his prime at 27 but sadly not.
  6. just joined the list of many players that have gone backwards under Goodwin. (Harmes, brayshaw, hunt, Melksham, Fritsch, jetta)
  7. Our end of thr bargain was against freo and Sydney. Time to leave the hub
  8. *Shakes head. I'm just posting this now so I don't have to sit and read 6 months of "oh if we only beat Fremantle and sydney. we should've made finals. We're a rabble of a club" etc. Because all the optimistic supporters who care about a meaningless round 18 are going to be the same supporters complaining when we miss finals. I know them better than they know themselves. By all means be annoyed we missed finals but at least do it at the point when it happened and that was against freo and syd.
  9. you realise if gws win we still won't make finals? The % diffis far too great. maybe actually crunch all of the numbers first. The season ended against fremantle.
  10. I'm here for a balanced discussion. The Facebook page of the official melbourne fc page is a real reflection of the tolerance and patience levels of fans. On here though, people seem to speak far too glowingly of a team that has been consistently inconsistent. I'm not here to be positive, I'm here to discuss wherethe list is at and what we need to do to win a flag. Not just be an 8-12th team
  11. What I would give for 3 more Langdons on the field. he's been fantastic. a very high finish in the BnF for sure
  12. So even in the 5% chance that we make finals. We lose first round anyway. The football we have showed this year and especially in recent weeks has already shown we don'tdeserve to play finals. Good teams dont get hammered by Freo and Sydney
  13. Out: Viney In: Harmes it won't happen though
  14. Can someone please tell me how AFL listed players can set up at a stoppage like this? When your season is on the line with 17 seconds to go and we're up by 5 points we set up with this trash! This is a knock on the players and Goodwin. The issues are as follows: - Literally no-one on Kelly at the stoppage. Who was arguably their best player on the night. -Petracca not playing goal side of Tom Green. He isn't even next to him. Tom Green wins the clearance gets the ball moving forward. -Langdon guards space and allows Perryman to run unmanned into the stoppage and get to the ball. This is commonsense fellas and it's reasons like this that cost us clearance and games time and time again. How is this commonsense not engrained in the players yet.
  15. totally agree. The Sydney and Freo games taught us that we have a soft underbelly and whilst some supporters have a short memory, those performances are the reasons we missed finals. We'll never go anywhere with Goodwin at the helm.

  17. I like all of those .Especially viney
  18. you'll come around. The dees will lose to the bombers next week and I'll just be shaking my head at people like you that start venting weeks after when the season was really lost.
  19. That's fine All I know is that if we lost that game by a point then most of the reviews would be similar to mine. people are just blinded by the final scores.
  20. Fans are negative for a reason. I've said this before but remember when everyone on demonland thought Bate was the next Pavlich, Tapscott was the next Hurn, Watts the next Riewoldt, Sylvia the next Voss, Strauss the next Lindsay Gilbee, cale morton a next gen player. The list goes on and on and on. And when they're delisted or traded no-one on demonland ever goes back to analyse why they didn't succeed or concede that their bias got in their way of analysing the player. So that's why I personally am so sick and tired of people hyping young players because we've heard it all before, time and time again.
  21. Gawn - costly kicking errors Jetta - what I expected May - AA jacket assured Smith - Barely noticed him Salem - great despite turnover Lever - made me nervous Oliver - handball happy again Langdon - continued excellent season Petracca - bit below best Rivers - 2 surprising goals Spargo - some important touches vandenBerg - just a game Baker - finally showed something Pickett - needs to convert Brown - better than McDonald Melksham - little impact again Viney - definitely our worst Fritsch - becoming defensive forward Tomlinson - just a game Neal-Bullen - kicked a goal Hunt - no outside run Weideman - sending search party
  22. truth hurts. Let me guess, you're an Oscar McDonald fan?
  23. you've got very low standards. he had 1 tackle.
  24. comparing him to Liam Ryan is embarassing. Ryan has composure and actually takes his marks. he also keep his feet and has football IQ. Pickett has shown no footy IQ so far and you can't assume he will improve in this area.
