  1. God some of you posters are carrying on like we are a top 4 team. we came 17th last year and are 8th this year with some disgusting performances in that. So a bit of a reality check. We need good decision makers across the park as well as more speed, a key forward to replace tom McDonald and a small defender to replace jetta.
  2. i dont understandthe table. If we have the hawks 2nd round pick, shouldn't that be in our column? so does anyone have confirmation that. we have the hawks 2nd round pick?
  3. I wouldn't have had petracca I'm the votes myself. 3: langdon 2: Brayshaw 1: Oliver
  4. As much as I love jackson and I recognise how good he'll become as a ruck, he's kicked 3 goals in 6 games. Petty kicked 3 goals in 1 game. recency bias
  5. hello? clearly he takes McDonald's role. Probably even takes Jackson's role. Petty showed more as a forward than Jackson but people have [censored] memories.
  6. Would love to know from anyone why they think McDonald hold his spot? He is embarrassingly slow and his lateral movement reminds me of Cameron Ling with Osteitis pubis. i'm confident that if Tom McDonald came at me, I could side step him 3 times without even moving. A must drop
  7. I think we're going to lose comfortably. I haven't seen any evidence that we've gotten rid of our soft underbelly that played embarassing footy against port.
  8. How can we afford anyone if we pay out Goodwin?
  9. All this talk about trades when there's only one that will see the most improvement. Out: Goodwin In terms of draftingand trading, we need some savvy small defenders to replace the ageing hibberd and jetta, as well as more pace in the midfield and another key forward. Realistically we can't do that in one draft
  10. I've never seen Weideman in bad form. Quiet games isn't bad form. That's delivery. He should never have been dropped since 2018. It's a joke.
  11. And even though Petracca is playing super well now, How come it's taken 6 years to get his tank ready for the midfield? I'm sorry but it doesn't take 6 years to get someone fit. Petracca was never a forward but he was played there for 4 years too long. It's stuff like this that loses my confidence in the club to get things right
  12. Grow and learn mumbo jumbo? The guy was clearly in the best 22. This is not a jack watts playing too soon scenario. This is a guy who was clearly starting 22 and had runs in the board. Does anyone even know what these mystery things were that he needed to work on? lol. I haven't heard 1 person know why he wasn't getting a game. Or what Weideman is doing now that he wasn't doing in 2018. Supporters just get overly protective of criticism. Blind Freddy could see that Weideman should be in the 22 of a team that was the 17th best to start the year. Sack Goodwin and we'll be better for it. 2 easy wins changes nothing. 4th to 17th to most likely not playing finals. Not good enough.
  13. What are you talking about? Everything he said is completely correct. It was a joke that he wasn't in the team for so long. The argument that 'oh Goodwin is responsible for his good form by making him work on his weaknesses' is such a BS argument. This idea that you lose your ability is a joke. Or the idea that you're out of form one week, but in form 2 weeks later is another joke. I'm not seeing anything from Weideman now that he wasn't doing consistently 2 years ago. I've also never seen him do a single thing on the field that warranted being dropped. Goodwin can not coach and everyone will be calling for his head after we start getting smacked by real opposition.
  14. Of course Goodwin has stunted Weideman' s development. Wallace couldn't be more correct. A big reason why I don't believe Goodwin has any idea what he's doing.
  15. and surely we're interested in Peter Wright. And if not, we should be!
  16. We can't afford not to be active in the trade period. Beating the 2 worst teams in the comp the last 2 weeks doesn't cloud my judgment on what is a list that lacks speed, skills and good decision makers. We need about 5 zac butter types. Our overall skills and decision making has been disgusting for 18 months. This must be addressed.
  17. Here's my take: - Jackson is a great pick. He is going to be our life after Gawn. He is a ruck primarily. Not a forward. So anything we are getting out of him now is a bonus. - Kozzy Pickett gives us speed. Yes, he needs to slow down a bit and not fumble marks and stick more tackles etc. but we couldn't afford not to get pickett. Him just being on the field makes us quicker. Do people forget just how slow we were on paper last year? - Petty isn't a fail. I hold high hopes for Petty as a key forward. He has shown to be a good mark and a good kick in front of goal. People have short memories. - Jason Taylor has a hard edge to him. He never in a 1000 years wouldve recruited the likes of Watts, Strauss, Bleass etc. He goes for competitors. His misses are because the players just don't have the skill but I can live with that compared to our previous recruiters who picked guys that didn't crack in.
  18. We knew from 2018 that he was wayy too good to not make a 17th placed football club. it's clearly Goodwin
  19. Let's pump the breaks. We've had Farmer, Neitz, Woewodin actually won a brownlow (Petracca has been good for half a shortened season), Lyon, Aaron Davey, Schwartz, etc. Farmer was one of the greatest forwards to have ever lived and kicked what was it 9 in a half? So nah, he has a while to go yet. He is on par with Oliver for mine.
  20. If Brayshaw played a full season in the real midfield I'm confident he'd be a top 10 brownlow finisher. And this is why Goodwin agitates me. He was: 1: Wayyyyyy too slow to bring Weideman in. 2. Wayy too slow to take Oscar out. 3. Negligent for not putting Brayshaw in his natural position and stunted his development since 2018. 4. Never trialled anything in game. Against Port Adelaide I'm sure fans would've liked to have seen May in the forward line, or Lever on a wing or whatever. Something! Throw the bloody magnets around Simon for Christ's sake! 5. And just his overall game style has proven ineffective for our playing list. And he's been unable to get the most out of the players.
  21. Oliver has got to be dropped. His kicking by foot is a liability remember ? Where are those fickle fans that wanted him dropped. Own it
  22. These are my takeaways (Not all positive). Please give feedback on my feedback because I'd like to know whether other people see what I see in players. 1. Luke Jackson: Looks fantastic. Life after Gawn is locked up and we need to offer him a big contract because Perth clubs will be coming hard for him. 2. Brayshaw: Looked a completely different player as a true mid. I felt bitter sweet as I believe Goodwin has played him out of position since 2018. 3. Weideman and Fritsch: I love the way Weideman attacks the ball especially. Another Goodwin knock here for not playing him all year. I don't buy the 'he needed to work on his game' dribble. Goodwin needed to work on his coaching and listen to the fans. Weideman and Fritsch need to improve their goal kicking accuracy. Both missed far too many simple shots and it's becoming a trend now. Fritsch should start snapping on set shots inside 40m instead now . 4. Oliver: Weekly embarassing fickle demonlanders who wanted to drop and/or trade him. Blitzing it and is in AA contention again. 5. AVB: His reversal free kick last week was one of the dumbest things I've seen from a player and I would've made a selection example out of him this week and not chosen him. Nothing happened and unsurprisingly he gave away another 50m. We can't carry someone who doesn't understand the value of a 50m or reversal in the game. In a short game, a goal is worth much more. 6. Petracca: will poll another 2 or 3. He won't close Neale down though. 7. Kozzie Pickett: A lot of draftees take time to get up to the speed of afl but he is the opposite. He is going too fast. He is lacking composure and is rushing the fundamentals. Just needs to slow down and executed the basic stuff first. Dropped some basic marks today
  23. I'm one of the rare supporters of Ed Langdon. I think he's offered us so much speed and drive off the wing. I think he deserves a really high finish in the best and fairest however there's one thing I've noticed now that I think it's a pattern of behaviour. He fumbles the ball when he already has the ball in his hands. He did this last week when he was trying to side step an Adelaide opponent on the goal line to kick a goal only to drop the ball and he did it again today. It's like he forgets in his head that he's holding the ball and loses his grip on the ball. It's strange and is costing us.
  24. who gives a cr$p about scoring shots. you gotta kick them.
  25. This is why I would've dropped AVB for being a dumb kent last week. And taking stupid [censored] seriously. Nonetheless, Goodwin looks the other way, picks him again, and unsurprisingly he costs us another goal this week with our season on the line.
