seems like you only watched about 5 mins of th game. Rivers played okay despite some costly errors, jackson was largely unsighted and pickett at least got 12 touches instead of his usual 6-8 and he kicked a goal but let's pump the brakes a bit. We've had far too many failed draft choices to earn the right to prematurely call anyone a future good player.

I'm sorry but this is exactly why i don't like pickett. Yeah he had some nice cameos but he fumbled a hell of a lot and dropped some easy marks. skills were off. We need him for his pace no doubt but i haven't seen any natural forward craft from him and until then i'd prefer him up the ground which to goodwins credit started him in the centre square.

1 round down and my statement that he isn't a forward stays true. Did some nice things late in the game but was non existent for 3 quarters. Kicking was horrific. He is a ruckman and will be a good ruckman. but he is far behind McDonald as a forward.

I think I'm the only person that understands that the teams listed are not the way they actually line up. Or do I need to take a photo of the starting line up at todays game and prove (again) how wrong everyone is. I expected by now that people would know this? People are having a heart attack over a line up that isn't even the lineup. Bizarre mindset to have.

people that are against the Goodwin bashing are the ones missing the point. It doesn't matter if it's one game or not. That's the best game of footy Oscar McDonald has arguably played. At the very least, it's the best game of football as a forward he has ever played. That can't be argued. So even if Oscar Mcdonald plays like the Oscar we know, the one thing that can't be argued is that Goodwin didn't have the creativity to put him forward more. Are we surprised no? Goodwin is a bad coach and will be gone by mid-season, which was a a year too late. So what excuses does Goodwin have for not trialling him more forward when he showed so many deficiencies as a backman? None

Typical Goodwin. Never creative enough to think about putting Oscar forward. I was saying that Oscar McDonald should've been delisted years ago but if he's going to play, play him forward where he doesn't have to make decisions and his poor decisions don't cost us goals. Goodwin doesn't have a clue!

Why on earth would you mention Langdon. He is one of our best players. I haven't even seen the kicking issues that you speak of. He is a gut runner and offers speed and work rate. He'd be one of the first picked to play. I'm glad you're not on match committee

Why wouldn't Goodwin try Harmes with a run with role on Macrae. It's this sort of lack of adventure that drives me nuts with Goodwin.

yeah lets hope so. The quickest way to get Goodwin sacked is a win for the club. If that's a 1-4 start then so be it.

HS predictions are pretty much the same as mine. With Goodwin in charge, we're a 8-11 footy team. A top 4 list though.

I agree with everything you said. I just don't want to spend a first round pick on a defensive forward. I hope the goals come and the accuracy improves significantly.

I don't care about what most fans say. most fans said we would rue the day when jack watts left to Port Adelaide. Many fans including many on demonland also sang the praises of Bate, Strauss, Toumpas, Blease, Marric, Morton, Watts, Grimes, Gysberts etc. so I only expect fans to be biased towards our own players. Many fans also backed in Oscar McDonald year in year out. Fans also expected us to be top 4 the last 2 seasons. The list goes on and on and my record speaks for itself. In terms of young talent on our list I rate them as the following (from left to right): Bowey, Jackson, Laurie, Rivers, Petty, Pickett, Sparrow, Jordan, Bedford, Rosman.

ANB is a mid, not a forward. i.e.the whole point of my posts. lol. But to answer your question ANB averages more goals per game than Pickett despite playing 2 seasons playing mostly midfield.

if you actually read the thread Pickett2Jackson used the word 'fair'. He said it was a fair expectation. And I agree. You don't? What do you think is a fair expectation goals wise? I also never said anything about Picketts place in the team. If I did, show me? That never happened. I actually said that I'd put him in the team. So I guess you have some comprehension issues. Do you not see the flaws in Picketts game?
