  1. i don't understand this reasoning. Yeah we can move into the top 10 but at the expense of pick 18,19 which are great picks to have. And its all based on points anyway so its all well and good to say lets get into the top 10 but we'd only do so in a way that the points system is of even value.
  2. im confused. can we trade these picks or are we officially ended with pick 18, 19?
  3. or being offloaded by North melbourne because they didnt want him. dont just say the good and not the reality
  4. Goody's genius? ffs, what are u smoking? Goody has shown the last couple of years that he has no idea. And as [censored] as McDonald has been obviously a fit McDonald is a hell of a lot better than Jackson. Also a hell of a lot better than Weideman. So if McDonald is slimmed down and fit and gets his speed back he leapdrogs everyone.
  5. i somewhat agree but the reason we were [censored] last season is our coach having no idea and our lack of speed across the field.
  6. just mentioned that melb will offer the kangas a 2nd round pick and a switch of later picks.
  7. i dont want to get brown for 2 second rounders. Will getting brown put us in the premiership window? No. So lets not overpay.
  8. Weideman can easily play in a pocket. gone are the days where there is a traditional chf and ff. its rolling bloody scrum anyway.
  9. the trade period should be 2 days. stuff all this week long stuff. The managers and recruiters chat all year and outside of hours anyway. a whether the trade week is 1 week, 3 weeks or 2 days it always comes down to the last day or 2 anyway.
  10. i like weideman. But i hate the fans opinions of him. Some fans say he is on the verge of being delisted(laughable) and then others say Goodwin needs to be applauded for the way he held him out of the team and needs to be acknowledged for his great coaching (laughable). The same fans then criticise Weideman for his drop off in form at the end of the year but then conveniently go quiet on Goodwins management of him. So here it is, Weideman is a 2nd or 3rd tall entering his prime who has proven finals performances playing in a team with [censored] delivery and a coach who has no bloody clue at selection what a best 22 looks like. He is a forward who gets his fair share of 'easy' goals which is what we need when we have guys like Fritsch botching chance after chance.
  11. Thanks for kicking that goal Mitch. loved your work. He'll be good for the dogs.
  12. pickett was unimpressive imo. no point being quick if you can't keep your feet.
  13. what do u mean by versatile? he can't play back. i suffered through watching him play back for years. he was awful. just because he can play back doesnt mean he CAN play back.
  14. yeah tom McDonald is realistically worth 300k. 350k max. he was just that bad and i hope its a reminder that if you're going to dish up that trash then theres no second chances.
  15. Right. So a guy who is a key position player, is in the prime of his career, after we've spent years developing him, is in a team with few genuine key defender options yet is delisted. That my friend is not afl standard.
  16. if you think OMac was better than Frost then that probably sums it all up.
  17. That's correct. I think Oscar is borderline vfl, potentially even vfl reserves. That's just my opinion. Ive thought this for a long time and haven't waivered from my opinion. And i could name a dozen other players in country leagues that would be better. I think the fact that he's played 80 odd games is quite embarassing. And i'd much prefer a guy to make mistakes having a crack (ala Frost) than a guy making mistakes because he is indecisive and timid.
  18. we're still bloody slow. so much for working on our deficiencies
  19. no we dont. Oscar isnt afl standard. never has been
  20. i dont even know why Goodwin hasn't been sacked already. Sure his contract is big money but we're going nowhere with him as coach so may as well bite the bullet and get rid of him.
  21. i totally agree. Mahoney is great. He's always proactive and at least i can sleep at night knowing that [censored] is going down. I don't know if people are conveniently forgetting that he got pick 6 and 23 for Hogan who is now worth only pick 56. Sure, a bit of luck was on our side with that one but if you're going to criticise Mahoney for every pick then at least acknowledge the good he has done.
