I think the grundy comparisons are fair. he isn't anywhere as good in the hitouts (being shorter doesn't help), but he is more agile.

Willing to admit defeat yet? Clearly isn't a natural forward. Surely that's evident after 7 rounds? He's playing super well when up the ground and around the ground etc. but as a forward he doesn't have the key forward craft of a Josh Kennedy or Riewoldt. And it's blasphemous to even compare them. Also, I might add that most (if not all) of Jacksons goals are crumbing types. A few posters that are saying that a bag of 5 are just around the corner may be waiting a while :)

I'm sorry but I disagree. Jack Wats failed for his whole career as a forward. But lets not reverse over that again. I don't read into AA honours. It's chosen by ex players and guys like Gillon McLachlan who I question how much footy he actually sees. I guarantee not as much as I do.

I think we've had a top 4 list the last few years so excuse me for not letting Goodwin off for 2 years of utter trash. There was no excuses for our 2019 and 202o with our list. I don't need a flag. I need consistency in performance that reflects the list we have at the time.

Goodwin hasn't proved anything yet. And if he puts Mcdonald back, it just proves that. Mcdonald failed as a backman for 7 years before trialled forward. Surely enough is enough. Unfortunately Petty is also a superior forward than a backman.

Matthew Lloyd just said on 'AFL Access All Areas' that based on what he saw on the weekend he doesn't believe that Ben Brown should be in our team come the finals due to his lack of mobility and being unable to create separation from his opponent. He also stated that he would leave Tom McDonald forward. He must be reading my posts on demonland! What would an all time great forward know about forward craft. lol. You lot! You call yourself supporters but then say stuff like 'Tom Mcdonald should play back'. I agree. I don't think he is getting dropped. But I would, in a heartbeat. many posters here wanted him dropped immediately after the game too but a nights sleep has eased their frustrations I think.

You just described exactly what happened to Mitch brown. Played one game, kicked 2 goals and got dropped despite looking better than Brown. So 100% we can drop someone after one game.

I think people are being a bit naive to think that this is purely management. he has a 2-3 week injury which is probably equivalent to a 2 month injury for an everyday person that isn't getting daily treatment etc. so this is an injury. It's frustrating because we got smacked in defensive pressure yesterday which comes down to intent which is what Viney has. And I go back to pre-season against the bulldogs and we got hammered against them at marvel and not having Viney hurt a lot.

I'm honestly happy to have a discussion about Brown. I thought he was very average and I'm not going to understate his missed mark in the last quarter that would've sealed the game or the sloppy high tackle he gave away in the clutch moment of the last quarter as well. couple this with the fact that we kicked away from North Melbourne as soon as Brown went off the ground with the blood rule. Throw in the fact that Weideman was playing better in the Vfl despite Brown being promoted. And throw in the fact that this was our worst performance of the season. Also throw in the fact that Tom Mcdonald wasn't played forward due to Brown (and Tomlinson going down) which is never going to be a long term solution. So there's about 5 reasons right off the bat.

whatever it is, we can't put Tom Mcdonald in the backline. I was hoping these experimental days were over. We've done the experiment, his decision making is too poor to play in the backline and he already dropped an easy mark down there (that he would never drop in the forward line) which almost cost us an important goal. He must stay forward, ideally at the expense of Brown who was well off the pace.

he was bloody horrific!!! he was weak on the lead. he never got separation and he gave a costly free kick away in the last quarter which resulted in a north goal. He also dropped the easiest of marks that would've sealed the game. he is a must drop.
