  1. Spargo is hearing footsteps, I reckon. Fritsch takes the whack 'cause he is played out of position (he's a forward flanker). Petty is still catching on to some big time action opportunities. None of the three read the game plan well; it appears that these players are often confused.
  2. Cannot remember one that was a good day, for him.
  3. This has been a scrawny year for the Website. Dull, lifeless, deficient in explanations,.
  4. Nope - not a positive year of football so far and there are limited sliver linings to follow, I'm afraid. Designed to elicit responses that they wish to hear.
  5. Proof of another week in the raffle of non-intent. Very worried, once again, about selections and forced recoveries, pace and contributions so far.
  6. Sorry, it got caught up in an overlapped post with other contributors; that is where I found the blurb that I wished to comment upon. It went up like lightning - surprised me, too. Apologies, again.
  7. Can remember it well - too well. The thought of it makes me shudder after the efforts we put in to get him, then wait for him, then see him almost easily penetrable in our zone of need. I presumed everyone else on DL could remember it as well. I hinted that it was a part of the 'hypocrasy' of the summative comments he made to Frosty in that game. I will leave it at that point, Macca. Squeaky clean in play observations will have to wait ...
  8. Any half-witted opposition midfielder would know that Max is going to win the tap and two of them makes a normal brain - so they rove to Maxy themselves - and our blokes allow this to happen around 50% of the time. When ours win possession, they bomb to take the heat off themselves - the effectiveness of the clearance is irrelevant to them. It would be friggin' stupid to play Max.
  9. Rest Gawn. There is no miracle cure or treatment for that amount of ankle-turn. So what if the swelling goes down? The ligaments and tendons have been weakened and will continue to require RICE before further stresses.
  10. So that's three of us?
  11. I really appreciate Frosty's game and efforts - and signs of further positive development and values for the Club. To receive a few words of tactful, concerned advice is just one stepping stone of many for his ongoing and unique footballing qualities. I commend young Frosty for reminding the font of absolute information so provided that onfield, mid-game, and in the 'huddle' of footballing expertise and concern is not the perfect environment nor an ideal scenario for the public interpretation of important strategic matters. Frosty most probably referred to his preference for a little chat in a more appropriate, mutually agreeable locale after the game - or more privately onfield - and that this might elicit a deeper understanding and less personal shame for such a learner and possibly from such a mentor. I'd also suggest that Frosty might have felt the need to remind his mentor of one's own credibility this season - crossing several areas of season preparation. readiness and team penetration from such an equally unique perspective. Albeit rather hypocritical in the eyes of some observers, May might well have provided instantaneous feedback with good intent from his vast array of experiential calling cards; so now, after the counselling event, Frosty is more able to select that type of defensive punch at the ball that wins games in the spur of the moment. After all, the path towards footballing glory, as Frosty might well concede, is a gauntlet of bumps and curves. Thank you, gentlemen, for providing a moment of laterality in the challenging mindsets of MFC supporters.
  12. Hannan found space, once; Fritta found space by following his man from the backline; result? Two goals. Enough said.
  13. Was hoping otherwise with some strengths returning but you are absolutely correct. So readable ...so inefficient - even when on a roll.
  14. Keep your eye on this bloke!!!! In time .... WOW
  15. So many questions in our minds regarding outstanding players. It makes you shudder looking back.
  16. Hard, tough as nails, goers. To make that team, you had to be the best in all regards. That is what made the team so great. What occurred on the field, stayed on the field. No second thoughts at all. Obedient - if the Coach said do this, and Ronald Dale nodded, it was done. Some of them were professionals, doctors, lawyers, pollies. They let of steam on Saturday arvo on the footy field. Legends of which to be proud.
  17. Petty is a better investment in the backline than either Lewis or OMac.
  18. He could well be the game-wide money man.
  19. Grossly overdue. Space-man on the fwd line. The person we need down there as an alternative lead and feed, even though the bombing to the goalsquare still occurs. His leads would make a few midfielders look before a statistic is accrued. Hell, an effective delivery is a better statistic than either 'metres gained' or 'ineffective delivery'. Fritta's second best skill is marking. Then come shots at goal; where he plays at the moment, both are taken from him and the game plan.
  20. I regard him as a good, regular player rather than a first-rounder or potential star. As a utility, I'd regard him slightly higher and useful. His pace is interesting to me, though. It seems above average and he is a solid tackler, too.
  21. Had Jones not accosted him he may have a question to answer. As it was a rough and largely unnecessary act by Jones, those who deign on high will feel sorry for the poor little creature despite the whole crowed directly observing the headbutt. Sometimes one must wonder about the morality of the game exhibited by those who are in positions that should know better.
  22. It is almost time that 'stagers' were penalised for some form of dishonesty. It is evident when it occurs, own Team or opposition. Ducking the head and rolling up the arm to get a hand around the neck - and then the performance (a la Selwood and Dangermouse) - is almost ruining key elements of the game. There are other such pretences and the outcomes of these types of dishonest attempts to milk a 'free' are too costly to the game for these to continue. Brown, at Norf, is another suspect.
  23. It also would appear that whilst development of OMac has largely been both secretive and unnoticeable across the past two years, there have been some errors (that are now resident in the FD) in his selection, allocation in games and unchangeable, one-sided applications. Either fullback or chb.
