  1. What ... they didn't get rid of them because they were no good ... they didn't have cap space as ed put all his eggs in the premiership basket
  2. Its going to be a very long time until we have the likes of petracca, oliver, gawn again ... cats and pies reset rather then rebuilt ... we should do the same ... its not time to give up on a flag yet ... you are out of contension far too long in rebuild mode with no guarantees picks will be turn to gold ... our list is mostly injury free and can hit pre season hard
  3. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/cash-the-biggest-sticking-point-paul-guerra-s-challenge-to-build-melbourne-a-caulfield-home-20250617-p5m87l.html
  4. We don't have a pick
  5. One will be on the bench if need be, on current form he won't miss out
  6. Listened to the Fagan press conference and he said Max is the greatest ruck of all time
  7. And that's why l never was concerned we would get the extra funds we need for the caulfield project. Donors can leave themselves an amazing legacy
  8. Its really poor that all media are putting talk of his contact on the table this week when they could do it any other time
  9. Don't understand alot of the Lamb criticism, part of delivering a flag after so many years and injuries and player issues aside we have a pretty good list. Most speculative picks or trade misses are for depth players we hope show something extra at mfc. On top of that, formidable players don't choose to switch clubs because they like the list manager. Its up to the coaches, player group and perceptions of the club to get players across the line
  10. Happy for Gary to vote on whoever he likes, just don't ever select another mfc coach again
  11. Jay is ordinary, posing leading questions often when there is nothing to consider out of desperstion to be relevant
  12. Ivanhoe grammar recently fenced off their oval to the public ... poor form although all to common ... kids miss out but no one cares
  13. After reading what cats were offering l am happy to back oliver in to build his form back up
  14. Casey was selected as a growth corridor, and the land or lease is essentially free l believe. We are trying to attract new young members given the demographic of our existing base. Has been very useful given we still don't have a proper primary home base One of the few achievements of past administrations
  15. Needs to do just one thing, stop kicking the ball super high when close to goal. Kicking the ball harder adds risk for no reward. Should be more of a passing type kick
  16. He needs to get serious in the gym no matter where he plays. Those skinny arms aren't going to be able to compete given he hasnt got breakout talent others can rely on.
  17. l think some are making the mistake of seeing Fullarton as JVRs replacement. So JVRs role is as the big forward and the lesser role as the back up. Petty is the replacement for the former while Fullarton is the replacement for the later. He is also the Fritch replacement. Our main targets going forward todsy were Petty, Melksham and Kozzie.
  18. Nobody gets a month given to you. Needs to compete hard and play a role and go from there
  19. Howes has had a fair go, needs to now repay the club if he is good enough. First few games seem to have been his best where he showed some ability, so its on him to show that more often
  20. Al Nicholson for me unless we poach a proven sports CEO. He has the perfect lead in experience to take it on, its got nothing to do with him being a mfc man. Has led sports organisations and consulted in sport at high levels
  21. My guess would be that Jack isn't 100%, he was pretty good last season with out much help. His contact has another 3 years to flattern his payments in the clubs interests l imagine. If he plays vfl and guides the young blokes in his final year or two l can live with that
  22. Footy clubs and maybe some other sports clubs are different. When you succeed you likely stick together for years on end and you grow to love your team mates and their differences. That's why footy is so great. l have 12 friends l have an annual trip with and watch our 1990/2000s matches l have digitised together over a few drinks. Nothing beats those memories and the trust and bond you have with them. Let there be more love at MFC
  23. l don't sign up to the theory we have been terrible last 3 years even with the finals exits. We were banged up in one finals series and in the other we kicked poorly in front of goals which happens to everyone from time to time. If you said to me at the start of last season clarry would be unfit and trac would be missing for a large chunk and other injuries, were would we finish? l would have said we would miss finals. Last week and last quarter gws, seriously dumb football by experienced players bombing the ball long, it's been made clear not to do that.
  24. He will play 2nds first
  25. There is one way to fix it. Apart from predetermined rotations, players typically get benched for poor efforts or match ups. Well we need to extend this to inside 50 kicks. When a player bombs it when they have time, they get benched and have a few minutes to reflect
