  1. Footy clubs and maybe some other sports clubs are different. When you succeed you likely stick together for years on end and you grow to love your team mates and their differences. That's why footy is so great. l have 12 friends l have an annual trip with and watch our 1990/2000s matches l have digitised together over a few drinks. Nothing beats those memories and the trust and bond you have with them. Let there be more love at MFC
  2. l don't sign up to the theory we have been terrible last 3 years even with the finals exits. We were banged up in one finals series and in the other we kicked poorly in front of goals which happens to everyone from time to time. If you said to me at the start of last season clarry would be unfit and trac would be missing for a large chunk and other injuries, were would we finish? l would have said we would miss finals. Last week and last quarter gws, seriously dumb football by experienced players bombing the ball long, it's been made clear not to do that.
  3. He will play 2nds first
  4. There is one way to fix it. Apart from predetermined rotations, players typically get benched for poor efforts or match ups. Well we need to extend this to inside 50 kicks. When a player bombs it when they have time, they get benched and have a few minutes to reflect
  5. Our foward line drops from being ok in ability when pickett is there due to his class to below average when he is not there. The norf practice match turned when he came on in the last quarter. We sruggle without him. Lets not completely lose it though, we are 1 and 1 in terms of acceptable performances
  6. Assume its in the soft cap
  7. They have said they are giving back some time to the players ... wonder if thus training schedule is part of it
  8. Jeff White to take over next year 😉
  9. Mark has been great in the past and this creates good vibe no doubt. Though not sure with 2 super experienced current ruck options and Verrall not appearing to be progressing as quickly as l would like, who are the high potential young rucks he is going to teach?
  10. Selwyn instructed players to head for gym for a session with Tommy Turner the strength and conditioning coach. Suspect that's the main reason for players attending today as the ground training has never been so light. Kolt injury still being monitored before a return to full training is decided. Bring on moomba
  11. Kicking drills including set shots in 3 rotating grps all appearing slightly different. No real running in bw which explains the 1 lap warm up
  12. Starting with only 1 warm up lap, then into a fun handball drill in 3 grps
  13. Haven't done the numbers but looks like a pretty full squad. JVR and Petty also training
  14. Pls not Trent Croad off field
  15. Its also a message to kozzies mgmt that your wasting your clients time unless the clubs have the collateral. They know from the situation on tracc and clayton last year we will hold players if need be
  16. There is usually an extra tall on the bench and / or one of the talls forward or back are generally injured at any point in time ... they will both play big roles if they stay fit
  17. There is talk of more leadership being shared with the younger guys - love the idea. JVR spoke impressively the other day and l could see him being one of the ones that are give more opportunity to lead. Who else is in our developing leaders group?
  18. Tmac has shown he can play key back or forward. The issue is his body, Playing back allows you a bit more time to change directions, cut off angles and hopefully avoid injury.
  19. He said similar when l asked him, that he would be playing if there was 4 points on the line
  20. Deestar l feel like your using my pretty innocent post to grandstand about the behaviour of this forum more boardly. lts not my go l dont play the man or woman for kicks like some do. My point is that players rarely complain to supporters, a view that was confirmed by GW herself. We all know however many do have issues with the club at any point in time, this is at all clubs local or otherwise. The post wasn't meant to reflect on GW, Katrina or others simply my view that players are cagey about their issue. Tracc hasnt done a media interview this season that l can recall which is curious at best. We all know he would be asked about his commitment to mfc now and into the future. Whether he stays or goes l am confident he is committed while here. There is a heap of value in the training reports.we get and l don't need to over state the obvious
  21. Speaking of what Tmac wears, many won't know that he has what l would call rubberised kicking laces to help with his kicking efficiency. Hes also known to trial afl approved clear rubber grib pads over the laces of his boots for the same reason. Others are doing similar
  22. Happy to withdraw the word random. My point however is that players are guarded and usually give a rose coloured view of things. When l have asked players how they are going at training, not once has a player said they are upset with the diection of the club or have issues with the coach staff or fitness staff. l also dont recall reports on this forum from others that have spoken to players saying similar things. Hence, l would love to here from Tracc on the record. He doesnt have to particularly if he doesn't want to stay, but it would be great to hear. My 12 year old son is still annoyed with him and Clayton wanting to leave and others haven't forgotten either
