  1. I've been saying this all last year and all this preseason, Fritsch will be some sort of player.
  2. So good to see Fritta doing his thing against the seniors
  3. Can't wait to see Fritsch match up against the big boys and see how he goes
  4. Bailey is an absolute gun. Hopefully he tears it up this year
  5. Yeah from a first hand report he has been killing it this preseason
  6. He says he's feeling stronger then last year but still trying to find his feet. Dec has always been a late bloomer so I hope the MFC put some faith into him because I reckon in 2-3 years time he will be a fantastic footballer
  7. Yeah but from the Melb website and was what I hear from a realiable source "The final list will be reduced to a 24-man team 90 minutes prior to the match." Dec hasn't stated packing for Hobart yet so I don't think he'll be playing
  8. Not to turn this into a p***ing contest but pretty sure I was talking him up since the start of last season
  9. Game doesn't really suite Fritsch but hopefully you guys can see why I talk him up so much
  10. So just FYI for everyone whose worried about whatever The club focused on using players who will benefit with a low contested/high speed game but also those who need a lighter work load With the shorter field and shorter game times, it's about 3 or 4 times less of a work load playing this game then doing a full preseason training session (hence the use of 3x 1st year players for example) since those selected will do this in place of 1 days full training Hope that made sense
  11. Nah they're doing the Team Photo/Signing day thing today
  12. For anyone that watched the (albeit limited) games that Ablett played last year, he was still an unbelievably powerful player. Great test for our midfielders in the first game because these 3 will destroy teams this season.
  13. Nah the boys have a long weekend before going up to the training camp in Maroochydore
  14. Yeah mate, for sure. Dont know if these show mongrel but these highlights I found show his courage
  15. Good mate, real good. He's training with the backline, just came home from a bonding camping trip the backline boys organised for Friday night. He's looking much better then last years preseason. Took 13 seconds off his 2km PB, is within the top 5 at the club when it comes to lifting weights in the gym in certain categories (deadlifted over 200kgs before the Xmas break) and seems to be doing well. He also is trying to learn as much from the others as possible, especially Lever. Says whenever there is a one-on-one drill he always grabs Lever to test himself against. We'll have to wait and see if he gets a chance in the JLT games but so far it's going well.
  16. Just FYI for the track watchers, in a bid to try and beat the heat tomorrow, all training has been pushed forward an hour. So the main training session should start at 8:30 instead of 9:30.
  17. Liked his write-up on Keilty, makes me think he should debut early in the season hopefully
  18. Just on this point, pretty sure fan following is a huge priority. In the article I linked it talks about the community programs and the large spike of MFC memberships in the the region.
  19. What is with everyone's beef with Casey Fields? Yes the weather can affect games but the Wind isn't as bad as Ballarat, Williamstown, Werribee or Sandy Point Plus outside the AFL grounds it's probably the best playing surface in the state, for those that haven't been there for a few years the City has invested tonnes of cash into making the playing surface unreal to play on Melbourne/Casey have a huge home ground advantage there so why not play a game against say a Gold Coast or Brisbane which won't draw a huge crowd, if a decent size grandstand is built?
  20. Word is that if the City of Casey build a grandstand on that southern end (where the wind comes from) Melbourne will play a game for premiership points there in the future
  21. http://melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-12-28/inside-casey-taking-it-to-next-level Good write up about where the Club and alignment is headed, everything looks great and from what I hear it's only going to get better over the next 5+ years for anyone wanting to give VFL a crack, Casey is gonna be where players want to go.
