Don't laugh at me - this could turn out to be a serious issue. my lovely girlfriend is turning 21 on the 11th of sept next year. the first weekend of the 2011 finals. given we play the gold coast on sunday on the 2nd last round, and then port adelaide away at a time yet to be determined, what is the best night for her to be looking to have her party given that i will want to go to the footy. She is so nice and lovely she will pick the night when we are least likely to be playing (what a woman). of course this topic is completely null and void if we dont make the finals - a 50/50 proposition anyway. i think friday would probably be the best night - they are unlikely to give us 2x 6 day breaks, although its the afl after all........

pretty sure they were started in groups. you wouldnt start them all together and if you look at the photos they are roughly in groups by position. i wouldnt read too much into say bate running at the back or anything like that. do you really think jamar would be 1/2 a step behind him after 2kms?

our age last year was skewed by a couple of players. bruce and mcdonald (and i suppose miller). take them out and the age drops significantly. it means bugger all except that we should be able to have our group together for longer.

we have been doing a rebuild for 3 years. geelong were at this stage in 2000, 01, 02 and 03. and they didnt win anything till 07. that means we have 4 more years to build. same with the saints. 01, 02, 03 and they are in grand finals in 09 and 10. it takes time. not instant gratificiation. having a policy of 30year olds get 1 year and reassess at the end of every year is SMART.

a good club environment is extremely helpful in getting flags. flags are almost a by-product (if the culture and environment is good enough) bruce clearly didnt want to contribute to this - if he did he would have stayed one a 1 year deal and worked hard for a new contract and his place in the team. bye bye

meh. if he had any balls he would take 1 year and fight for his spot - to not only play in the team but to get another contract for 2012. he always was a liability. if he wants assurances he will play in the team, then he can [censored] off to a team that will blow smoke up his arse.
