  1. Very true, and it can only help us in our pursuit of other players. With a few clubs already potentially spending some of their free cap space on players, it gives us more chance of landing the targets we were after (which didn't include Cameron and Crouch to begin with anyway).
  2. Depends on how much Caldwell wants. It won't be anything near Crouch, but at the same time, they certainly spent up big last year so you wouldn't expect them to have much more in the way of cap space with the addition of Crouch.
  3. Sounds like the Saints were, at the very least, third in line for his services as we know Geelong were super keen on him until Cameron decided to go there, and Port had some interest (not as heavy as Geelong) as well. So, he'll be a handy addition, but he was keen to be well paid to make the move from the Crows so I'm not sure how good that move is just yet. I don't think it makes them a better side yet either.
  4. I wonder how far back we can go with that board, and how soon people are pulling out quotes like this... "Hassa Mann has revealed that he pushed for the recruitment of Michael O'Loughlin during the 1994 draft, only to be overruled by Balme who was keen on eventual recruit Michael Polley."
  5. Your offer for him was more than we got for him in the first place, which is vomit inducing considering he was in better nick at the end of 2018 than he is now.
  6. It would spark some reflux for me if we offered that.
  7. Do we pull off the Trent Croad special? I doubt it, but it would be great to see him in a Dees jumper again.
  8. Should be named the 'Won't be coming here as Ed Langdon would belt him' thread.
  9. It's come out today that Freo have put him on the trade table. I think they would be quite happy to move him on.
  10. 80% forward, 20% ruck. Can't wait to see him develop further in 2021.
  11. It only took 34 pages, but this thread finally came good.
  12. Is that the day he had 8 touches and kicked 1 goal? Massive slaughtering there.
  13. Cue the 'we aren't a smart club' responses.
  14. Geelong have the perfect combo right now. They have free agents willing to come, and they also have local players who come back to the club for peanuts (outside of Dangerfield anyway). They'll never bottom out at this rate. It's sickening.
  15. God I hate Geelong. Edit - also, what does this mean for their pursuit of Brad Crouch? Surely they can't get both?
  16. I didn't say it was all about the coin, just that the correlation you make between Woewodin getting traded and Jones potentially not getting another year at the age of 33 are different things.
  17. Hardly the same thing. If Jones was not to have his contract renewed for one more year, then I think it would fair enough. He isn't contributing as much as he used to and his body isn't what it was either. However, I'm not against a one year deal. But that is vastly different to trading Woewodin, who was on huge coin, to the Pies when he still had plenty left in the tank. His two years after the Brownlow were average, but we were spooked by the WA sides and panicked (as we do) and overpaid. It was our own fault in that regard. His year in 2000 was superb, though, and he was a massive reason why we made the Grand Final. What I'd give to see us do that now.
  18. He threw it out punching a wall after finishing 5th in the best and fairest.
  19. It's not like us to overrate our own players...
  20. I agree in part with this dazzle, but I think the culture is set across the entire club. From the board to the coaches and to the players. They all share some responsibility here.
  21. Just think OD is better than that. Edit - clearly some don't think he is. Thoughts @old dee?
  22. I actually like what OD has to say most of the time, although I think missing the finals and lock down has pushed him over the edge a little.
