  1. Rip roaring deal for us. We got Preuss for Tyson and a pick in the 60s, and now we off load him two years later for pick 31.
  2. North have said they aren't interested at all in TMac, so he won't be part of any deal I'd say.
  3. If that does happen, then I'd be expecting a further pick from them in return. If it was 26 and 33 for Brown then I'd be a little disappointed in the deal at first glance.
  4. Great outcome if we get him on a 3 year deal and use Pick 33 to do it.
  5. Fair deal really. He isn't worth more than that after the last two years. Also means, after the pick swap, we still have a 1st, 3rd and 4th rounder for next year to use which is good.
  6. And now a third round after trading Hannan to the Dogs.
  7. Pretty good deal to be honest. We swapped second rounders (although this one will fall a little later than our one next year I'd say) while we get a third for a fourth rounder. Plus it will help us land Brown as well which is a positive. And we still potential picks coming in for Preuss and Hannan, so we can make further moves if we wish.
  8. He would be behind Brown, Weid, Jackson and Fritsch. I'd even have Petty there ahead of him. He isn't changing anything at the club for us. Pass.
  9. Fact has no place in a rumour thread, Biff.
  10. Going by reports, it would be Andrew Phillips from the Dons. Edit - CHF said it was Tom, which could well be true, but we've also been linked to Andrew Phillips to fill the spot McKernan would have.
  11. Just to go with this, I think it was Jon Ralph who tweeted that Essendon were trumping Carlton by offering their Pick 7 in any swap deals that might come up so Carlton can't do it with their #8 pick. How petty can you get? And I totally agree with everything you said above.
  12. The talk is always going to be there every single year. With that in mind, what do you expect them to say?
  13. Just send them the YouTube link of the goal from the 2018 final against Geelong and we should get two first rounders for him.
  14. I hate this response. EVERY clubs CEO gets interviewed at some stage. It's inevitable. Why we need the 'blah blah blah' and 'it's all talk' stuff is beyond me. We know we need to perform on field, but this stuff is always going to happen regardless of whether we're first or last on the ladder.
  15. Apparently some can change the goal posts while others, like @Dr evil, can't. Gotta love trade period.
  16. Dogs also have the Dunkley stuff hanging over their heads as well. Hannan strikes me as a deal that will done on the final day with about 30 minutes to spare.
  17. This. While I don't think we'll be 'big' players this year as we have been in the past (I don't see Brown as big of an acquisition as someone like May, even if I think it's a good move for the club), I have no doubt that they know we can get better and that we'll have an eye on a few players. No need to show our hand just in case these other ones don't come off. People want to sink the boots in a little but I doubt we put all our eggs in the Smith basket re: adding further run if the right opportunity presents itself.
  18. I know North fans are thick with this logic, but they've painted themselves into a corner. They offered a deal, he rejected it and then neither really came back to the table. North were then dumb enough to say they didn't want him anymore and wanted to trade him. If they had any sense they would have at least tried to make it look like they wanted him, but as it is, they can't go demanding something decent in return as they've made it clear how they feel about him. Good on us for potentially playing some hardball with it.
  19. Good point here. I think this will actually be a really important part of the puzzle for us. Kozzie has a big future but he needs help going forward. Do they see Spargo as the bloke to stand up in this regard? Perhaps a two year deal is their way of backing in Hunt to do it? Or perhaps we go to the draft or look to trade someone in? But that support at ground level is going to be key going forward.
  20. Chaplin did oversee one of the better defences in the competition this year, so he is hardly a yawn. He did a very good job for us in 2020. And I'm not sure what people expected with the drop off in how much money we can spend in the FD. Yze is a great addition, but we couldn't do a whole lot more than that really. I'm very interested to see how Stafford goes in the forward coaching role, while Yze should re-invigorate a midfield that, to me, was a little stale in it's approach this season.
  21. North fans reckon they'll get a minimum of a first round pick for him. I love North fans. They've got no idea.
  22. I also don't think he's been the same player since he knocked himself out running into Sam Jacobs. He was fantastic for us prior to that, and he's never quite hit the same heights since. No idea if there is any correlation, but it's just a thought.
  23. It's hardly surprising. Such a click bait title from SEN. It is just one of them (SOS I think) pontificating about whether North might want a player instead of a pick, and then he threw up Brayshaw as a suggestion (and a dumb one at that). The title makes it sound like North are actually interested in one of our players when they aren't. Sorry, sounds like such a small thing to be annoyed about, but I wasted 5 minutes of my life to find that info out. And I want it back!!
