  1. Named as an emergency. I agree, although the one paid against Gilbert where he hand passed it right next to a teammate and it went out of bounds was going overboard. Very harsh to penalise a player when a teammate is right in the vicinity of where you send the ball.
  2. Yep, good point. They are missing a couple of players today but the Dogs are making them look distinctly average. It is Round 1 after all though, plenty of water left to go under the bridge.
  3. Freo are slow though, and when their defensive game doesn't work it highlights how poor their forward line is. You can understand why they've chased every quality tall forward under the sun for the last 5-6 years as the quality down there is minimal.
  4. There was a little bit of sarcasm there hardtack, but yes, they do look scary good. Their running game and pressure has been superb so far, Dockers can't cope.
  5. So the Dogs don't look half bad...
  6. Apparently? There was nothing 'apparent' about it. That was his go last year. Full credit to him in that he seems to have improved in that area. I won't get carried away with him yet, but he has certainly surprised me with his form.
  7. A likely story! In all seriousness though, he's done a fantastic job. The club had a clear idea of the types of players they wanted to get into the club and he's achieved that in style.
  8. I feel sick looking at that 22. I forget we were that bad to kick off the season. What a job everyone at the club has done to get us to where we are now.
  9. Did you like anything about the game today, Adam? Not happy with work rate, disposal, certain players... I didn't realise we got rolled by 10 goals today. I'm not saying the game was perfect, far from it, but as a supporter I thought we tended to look more at the positives (and there were plenty) after winning our first game for the season over good opposition.
  10. It happens every week. Too many on here love a crisis.
  11. Couldn't find the time to stick this in the "Changes for next week..." thread? Too hard basket? It's one game. Look at how the McDonald thread came back to bite dazzle on his backside, even though at the time you could argue it was necessary. He still had 17 touches at 70%DE and we know he can get better. Let's wait a few weeks before we start putting a red line through players.
  12. You would think Dunn is an automatic inclusion with Oscar injured. Then you've got Brayshaw and, probably, Lumumba who are both ready to go. Who do you drop? Frost and Pedo were both average but they play a different role to those two and we don't have direct replacements for them. Harmes might be the one in a bit of trouble and Gus is the one I would bring in. So: In: Dunn, Brayshaw Out: O Mac, Harmes.
  13. I tell you what you could do - divorce her. You don't need that sort of rubbish! Feeling good about the game today. I can't make it but I'll be refreshing the scores on my phone every few minutes. If we stop their run off half back we go a long way to winning this game.
  14. I'm still baffled as to why the media gives the Tigers a rub. They have a few quality players but, outside of those, there isn't much else going on. Look at the blokes they added - Townsend just wants to whack people and Rioli is a few years away. If they were pushing for a premiership then Rioli doesn't play as there isn't a spot for him. What else do they have?
  15. That was the game we lost by a few points, but he may well be referring to that game as we drew with them in the return game on QB that year.
  16. I've got some advice: Head down to Coles, buy yourself a box of Kleenex and wipe up all those tears you've shed over the fact Oscar McDonald was selected over Dunn. It might take a while, but you'll get there.
  17. I find the reactions here intriguing. We've gone in with basically the same side that won 3 NAB games and played great footy. Shouldn't they be rewarded? With the new interchange rules the last thing we need is to play guys who are underdone and we run out of legs in the last quarter. I think they've played it very smart and selected the right side for this game.
  18. I know what you're saying, but the above guys are all at least playing for Casey, and Petracca is another week away. Not all doom and gloom.
  19. Cheap. I meant that he must be right to go, otherwise they wouldn't pick him for Round 1 when they've had a few weeks to get him right. Plus Roos talked about the fact that guys like Dunn, Brayshaw and Lumumba missed out because they wanted to go with the fittest side possible. If Salem wasn't fit then he would have missed. I hope I'm not proven wrong though as he is crucial for us off half back.
  20. The other notable absentee is Lumumba. Another one they feel needs at least another week at Casey if Roos' comments, about picking the fittest side they can, is anything to go by.
  21. It makes no sense to me that we would make a late change for the first game of the season. If they won't pick Brayshaw, who they obviously feel needs another week at Casey, then they won't pick someone under an injury cloud. Salem is right to go and O Mac must have impressed them to get the gig down back alongside his brother.
  22. Just announced on the MFC website that Clayton WILL make his debut this week! Well done son!
