  2. That was, frankly awsome..... Love ya work Jaded !!!
  3. Unfortunately true, but it got a family reunion in my house...... My Essendon supporting brother, who I have not heard from in more than a couple of months (largely due to his heinously awful girlfriend, although that is totally besides the point right now, sorry folks) decided that he would actually make contact simply to poke fun at this result. I chose the lesser of two evils and didn't answer. Thus I spent the night cheering for North to knock over the Bombers for some little payback, but unfortunately no go. Unhappy MFC families playing together up here in Sydney !!!
  4. And from what he once was that is so very sad, but the reality is I am not sure how much longer he will stay in the Melbourne jumper......
  5. I agree with the sentiments of Jaded and Thomo, as I also thought he looked pretty good albeit there was minimal competition from team mates...... There were moments when he looked as excellent as we all hope he can be, but clearly he drifted and dropped his head towards the end. I do admit to love seeing him with ball in hand as he tends to use it better than most. And while we all know what we need (and want) up forward, but maybe this is where he proves to be best. Although I would like to see him drift into the forward line at times as he so tall and could prove to be quite effective, but he is going to need more physicality. Thought he was good today though, definitely an improvement on his somewhat woeful preseason form. So I guess the glass is half full'ish !!!
  6. Well he wasn't really playing in a position foreign to him, but you could well be right there Rhino....... Either way they both had better games than most of their illustrious team mates and thus are probably both in "The Four"!!!
  7. 6. Magner 5. Watts 4. Trengove 3. Martin 2. Grimes 1. Jones
  8. For mine..... Magner, Watts, Trengove & probably Martin And while they were good(ish) that number is still extremely sad.
  9. I can understand that sentiment, especially after today, but the question then must be asked is there a better option? The last thing any of us want to see is this wonderful kidbe over burdened, but he really does seem to have the stamina for it. Plus he is not going it alone in the captaincy role.......
  10. Curious as to why the hell you think this is........

  13. I agree Hells Bells, I thought they were amazing as well...... Grimes looked like he could barely get through it, and their words were in fantastic unity to the spirit of Jim. Tears have flowed freely all day today.
  14. Rest In Peace Jim Stynes.... Thank you for all you have done both in life and for our beloved Dees. You will be sorely missed and always treasured.
  15. At the moment? He's been beaten up in the media since day one.
  16. A little damp..... Didn't we win these games last year? Not really a reflection on much of anything really!!!
  17. Thanks for the summaries guys, greatly appreciated.......
  18. Franky, I'm impressed and more than a little surprised cause generally around here people just keep yelling at you..... I'm glad you had a good night out, it sounds like it definitely beats my microwave mac and cheese, and I thank you for your kind words. You weren't out of line regarding his form last season, not up to his standards, nor the captaincy but lets hope that was the anomaly and he goes back to being what he was in 2010. I'll always be in his corner, but your response has humbled me so thanks again !!!
  19. Excellent and true, I think we can all agree that he had a good (improved) 2011, and that we hope for an even better 2012, especially now with Clarke up there as well......
  20. Cheers again for all the reports guys, your efforts are excellent..... Love reading them, makes me feel not so far away (or being irritated by bright orange and grey), so please keep 'em coming !!!
  21. Is better or will be better than Judd? One is definitely not, the other we just hope not!!! Besides he'd want to be good, because apparently he needs to get the ball to Falou so he can kick his 40+ goals this season !!!
  22. So when he pulls on the red and blue this year I guess your loyalty to the players in the jumper will be tested..... For the record I think the coach made the right call, Green's 2011 was appalling and he clearly wasn't cut out for the job. I, along with plenty of others, over estimated him in that regard. The rest of the argument is just your personal opinion, which we are all entitled to but to which I categorically disagree. But then again I probably thought better of him in the first place. Is he a champion of this game? No, but there is nothing wrong with a really good decent player. When did that become a point of ridicule? And as for the behind the scenes stuff, wanting him to be the villain doesn't automatically make him one. No one knows what happened, only that the club imploded and he was in the middle. I'm not going to judge any person for something I know nothing about absolutely. I love the move towards the future as well as the way Green handled his removal, but the true test as others have said will be on the field. And at least I can honestly say that I will be thrilled if (when) Brad returns to the form we damn well know he is capable.
