  1. And this answers a few questions...... Melbourne says demoted Jack Watts must lift intensity http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-news/melbourne-says-demoted-jack-watts-must-lift-intensity/story-e6frf9jf-1226346182678 "The former No.1 draft pick has been on notice since coach Mark Neeld took charge and was dumped to the VFL. The Demons said Watts had to improve his physical game to get back in the side. Watts copped pre-season criticism from Mick Malthouse for lacking intensity, but has laid just eight tackles in five matches. Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney said last night the 21-year-old needed to lift. "Tackling and contested possessions is a big indicator for our team," he said. "We laid over 100 tackles in last week's game (Watts laid none) and that is an area that Jack needs to continually work on.""
  2. Discussion here...... http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/30102-the-voice-the-people-speak/
  3. I'm pretty sure we all do, I certainly do, but a query here and there is actually allowed..... And do you honestly think that all those players that have survived selection in recent weeks have deserved it? For what it's worth (yet again) I understand the decision and hope to God that it works wonders, but whether you like it or not, I just don't see the parity.
  4. Maybe, maybe not? But I think that while he hasn't been brilliant he certainly hasn't been the worst, until now. And I can't imagine why I was so scared of the cheer squad at this decision.
  5. "Again rubbish", Lord above...... Read the frigging post. I didn't say he didn't deserve to be dropped, it was a very poor performance, but I just stated that he is not the only one in that boat and that others have performed equally as poorly or worse over the course of this season to date. Watts, while he hasn't been ripping games apart has been far more consistent than quite a few others out there (until now) this season. Now I am sure the coaching staff have their reasons for this decision, and I am certain that they know far and away better than we do, I am not abusing the coach. But I think that a few have snuck through with some very poor displays and yet are still selected. N ow again maybe the coaching staff have their reasons, we'll have to trust that, but that is the way I see it. Hopefully this will make him tougher/better/stronger willed, at least in his want to play the game. So in future spare me your "limp wristed insults" and realise not everyone sees things the same way.
  6. I don't like it, but I understand it..... What I fear is the three cheers from many folk in here. I just wish this kind of swift justice was equally and universally applied. Becuase it really hasn't been thus far in regards to many team selections this season.
  7. I agree with the attitude, but it certainly hasn't been consistantly applied thus far this year......
  8. Hadds support rolls in WE'VE had plenty of feedback with people wanting to pass on their good wishes to Brad Haddin and his family after we told you about his daughter Mia's battle with cancer. Haddin is grateful to all the well-wishers and even thanked this column for its support, which of course he didn't have to do but it shows what a quality bloke he is. Haddin can't thank all of those who have offered their support in person, but he sent me the following text. "At the moment things are very raw and we have a long way to go. We would like to keep things as private as we can. But we are very grateful and appreciate everyone's well wishes from the bottom of our heart. Brad and Karina". 9. Oh for pitys sake, read the bloody post again and maybe you will have some undertanding of this reality..... You don't boo your own (original quote), accecpt apparently those that think calling him a blunder is perfectly accecptable (second quote). I don't (last quote) Get it now, and I would appreciate not being mis-represented so massively.
  10. Don't know Benno, but it's not listed here...... http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/134421/default.aspx
  11. Goddard's incident wasn't even assessed
  12. Selwood escapes sanction http://www.afl.com.a...20/default.aspx "The Match Review Panel deemed the impact of the fourth quarter incident was not forceful enough to warrant a charge, after receiving a medical report from the Brisbane Lions."
  13. Except in here apparently...... Agree Redleg, was the best game from him in quite some time, now we just need a few repeat performances.
  14. I know and understand what all you fine gentlemen are saying...... I'm just not personally sold, yet. That's not to say I won't be in time, but right now for me (just me) there just seems to be something missing. And I also agree with you Rhino when you say Roach and particularly Shillingford are class. In fact the Windies look to be a team on the rise.
  15. And I'll read anything I want to into what Clarke says...... Clarke didn't actually have to say anything at all other than pull a PC comment out of his arse. Haddin didn't need to be brought up by anyone other than the press. And I honestly don't think Wade has set the world on fire, but he has become such a hero. I guess being a Victorian helps him here. But I disagree with that assessment to this point, so still Paine for me (if that's allowed)
  16. My opinon Rogue...... And I'm sorry but nothing he has done (or you've said) changes it.......
  17. I wasn't having a go, I was defending him while acknowledging that he didn't have a good game...... And I agree with you, a few bad games in a row, then he can be re-aquainted with the Scorps, but certainly not yet. All I was saying is that a hell of a lot of people want to see him gone.
  18. Yeah I saw it, granted only on TV and I agree with he was particularly ordinary..... My point however was that he has been one of our best up until tonight and yet after one, granted, dreadfully poor performance he gets the bullet. And he apparently gets it ahead of others that have been worse for longer in other games and have been kept in the side regardless. But hey if you want him gone I'm sure your not alone.
  19. Because apparently one poor game gets you shunted.......
  20. 6. Jones 5. Bail 4. Mckenzie 3. Rivers 2. McDonald 1. Grimes Apologies to Jamar, Magner and Moloney
  21. One of the greats? Maybe, maybe not..... But you seem to state as absolute fact what is nothing more than your opinion. I agree he needs more "appetite" but again you're delusional if you think there isn't a great player in there. Or maybe you just don't like what you see now and have thus decided that he'll fail us no matter what.
