  1. We all have our fingers crossed here rpfc..... But I think you're right in there is reason to believe despite were we currently find ourselves.
  2. Great summation WYL, and this is the crux of it for me...... Things need to be re-built and we have to be patient while this is done no matter how painful it is and will continue to be. It is way to early for any kind of judgement on either Neeld or Sanderson, and given the respective list and their talents I'm not sure you can make a definitive comparison at all.
  3. Maybe for this year, but does that change if the two-year option that Webjet has is activated? And I still think that the club has done a great job. The EW sponsorship was out of this world, and with that came the crazy, given that even getting our hands on the money, this early in the deal, was proving difficult.
  4. Now to me the obvious change is Grimes in for MacDonald....... If MacDonald's original selection in the team was a like-for-like pick, then it is clear that when Grimes is back he re-gains that spot. Not to mention the fact that JMac was well beneath ordinary, and for mine shouldn't be seen again unless absolutely necessary.
  5. And if you're inclined to believe Twitter......
  6. Although..... If you're inclined to believe twitter!!!
  7. OK, for starters, hands off Sid ....... Secondly a lot of his concussion problems seem to have stemmed from a crack in his neck that went staggeringly undiagnosed for months. Hopefully with that being healed now we can see him back to his best, next year might be pretty good to be a Penguin!!!
  8. Thank goodness...... Clark in the clear http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/133807/default.aspx
  9. How many are we going to be able to forgive. And for how long do we need to keep forgiving them? I understand what you're saying Jose, mistakes do happen, but the sheer volume of skill errors is what is costing us. Not to mention the simplicity of some of the plays that are being botched, with both Morton and Moloney being guilty here. And the cold hard reality is that at some some point they really do become unforgivable......
  10. You're right it probably won't, but it should ease up for a while......
  11. I understand your points Rusty, really I do but him being dropped is way out of line IMO...... As I said he is not immune to criticism, but I wouldn't be dropping one of our few bright spots on the year for a half a game of under-whelming football. You seem to think that he should go before anyone else, just to teach him (and everyone else?) some kind of lesson that dropping a mark is bad. I find that to be a bit akin to throwing the baby out with the bathwater. And while I have said here that he needs to play a lot more consistently throughout a game, he is about the last that gets the bullet this year.
  12. Bugger ........
  13. No probs, I just get sick of the bleating about his injuries being faked and the endless whining about how good he actually is..... As for the refs, you're probably right but given my team allegiances that, if true(!!) doesn't bother me so much!!!
  14. Oh for gods sake, I am as it happens..... You may want to have a little more respect for that .
  15. 6. Rivers 5. Magner 4. Moloney 3. Watts 2. Clarke 1. Jones Apologies to Bate, Frawley and Howe.
  16. Ahh yes, lets rid ourselves of one of the few bright spots of the season after a couple of bad plays...... Honestly, while he isn't immune to criticism (and is due some), this is utterly ludicrous.
  17. Great news for the club....... Congrats on a week or so that has seen the club secure what we can only assume is an excellent deal financially Three great new sponsors. Nice to see things coming together off the field!!!
  18. Yes, the goal kicking was particularly stellar !!!
  19. Saved by their goalie...... Yeah Pens !!!
  20. I tend to agree, from the bits I saw Freo looked pretty good tonight...... This is a very mutually beneficial arrangement (which, I guess, is how it is meant to be!!!)

As for the Denver situation. I find the sheer size and scale of Mannings contract to be completely extreme, but then again it is Peyton Manning...... But at what 37 years old next season, three serious neck surgeries, and a year out of the game, that is a lot of faith ($$) being taken on the fact that he won't break down again, and possibly permanently. However with Denver being run by John Elway, one of the most beautifully classical quarterbacks that ever graced this game, who I'd imagine would have found it torturous watching Tebow butcher the simplest plays that involved releasing the ball, and seeing the Bronco wide receivers going stir crazy from utter and complete boredom. This would not sit well with the two time Superbowl winner. Tebow played as well as he could and was kept in most games by a truly outstanding defensive unit, but he is not a good QB, and certainly not in the fashion of an Elway. Manning is a risk because of his health and age (two very important things) but his skill and class is never questioned and he may just fit with what Denver want out of their offence. That being said not a pick up without a huge amount of risk, but I guess they genuinely believe the potential rewards are greater. We'll see!!!

Yeah the Jets decision making makes no sense to me either...... I don't have much time for Tebow and for my money Sanchez is by far the better quarterback (he can throw the ball afterall). But the insanity of "Tebow-Time" being ramped up even further on the massive New York stage makes Sanchez's position simply appalling and possible untenable. One mistake, or slip in form ala last season, which was pretty damn poor especially given the previous years, and his world will cave in on him.a And I'm not sure how tough he is yet, despite his handling the very insane Santonio Holmes and getting them to two Disional Playoff games. Then again if he ever want to move back to California, my 9ers will be needing a new QB in due course !!!
  23. Pittsburgh have a horrible habit of leading, then losing especially while playing on their home ice...... That being said, as always Go Pens!!!
  24. Yeah that's what I did Bub, but I figured not all would want to..... Plus it's only for two months !!!
  25. No probs mate..... Here to help!!!
