An almost a positive piece of press, who would have thought !!!
-
Oops, that didn't go so well did it...... England beat Australia by seven wickets to win World Twenty20 final
-
Brett's body has all but given up, he is permanently sore and needs a lot of physical therapy just to stand up straight...... I love Brett and have championed him throughout his career but the end seems to be seriously nigh !!!

Given some of their recent decision making, just maybe..... I don't like the hair pulling, it's an utterly crappy thing to do, but if you have that hair maybe you should be ready for it. That being said I do remember a horrible case of it in a Wallaby v Springbok match a number of years ago when George Smith had his dread locks (in a pony tail) yanked by an opponent who couldn't get a hold of him on a burst, and it nearly ripped the back of his scalp off. He was pulled off the ground and onto his back. Sorry but this is not an action that should be congratulated. But maybe it's just the Hawks trying to get back to their "unsociable football" mentality, because this fits !!!

Boy the kid really can't win can he ?!!!

"Protection" doesn't mean having to get into a fist fight to help a guy out does it? I mean it could just be a bigger body pushing opponents out of the way to make space or something, couldn't it? And I would have thought that this is an important aspect of team work for all forwards. Plus it's always nice to know someone is there. Other than that I have no doubt that young Jack will learn the physical rigours of the sport just fine.

You know Roos finishes at the end of this season right? Look Jaded is right, the forward lines bones are there, they're just not out there yet. Both the midfield and forward line performances yesterday were unacceptable. It is hard to any forward, no matter who he is, to kick goals when the ball isn't being won nor delivered with any great skill or consistency, but it is then the responsibility of said forward to then work harder for, and try to make the most of what they do get, and I didn't see much that either unfortunately. It will come together eventually, but for now we need to work harder, both on the field and in the box, with what we have got.
-
This has come up a number of times since yesterday..... And can someone please explain to me how this group (all of them) if they do as it looked, think that way? I mean come on boys you looked comfortable and non attentive, like the match annoyingly got in the way of a good nap. But honestly no one has the right to complacency and if that was present it needs to get removed, fast.
-
Why the hell there's any of that to start with baffles me......
-
You would think it would be that simple but for some here it never will be in regard for Miller...... It seems like he has been playing well enough to get a recall, better that Newton and far better than some of the other alternatives. Is he long term? No but that really isn't he point. He may be able to help us now. If a guy is playing well and there is a vacancy in the team he gets the spot on form. Some people here may do well to get over their never ending hatred of this guy. If he is playing well he comes in. Just like anyone else.
-
Yes, but please, please move on...... We've all read and fully understand your position.
-
Ok, thats just mean !!!
-
Nope, all spots must be earned, no matter by who..... Oh and good question !!!

-
I'm actually disappointed in any player (if true) who had the audacity to think that..... We may have a bright future, but we haven't earned the right to complacency.
-
Come on guys, lets please move it back to the topic at hand..... Cheers B) !!!

I don't think Rivers' work ethic is in doubt after today's performance, he worked hard..... But the criticism (which isn't even close to "hate") is legit unfortunately. Rivers was able to put himself into the contest(s) as a loose defender because that is what he is good at, always has been. But the flip side is that one on one he gets beaten, or at least has been recently. This is not something that a team can always hold on to. I hope they find a way, but as with Cameron Bruce, these less than stellar attributes of some of the more seasoned players will be more fiercely exposed, and the kids as they grow up and (hopefully) be better, these players will be eventually be phased out. This is not a slight on Rivers, far from it really, but is more a recognition of the realities these guys are going to be facing.

Makes selection in the seniors this week interesting......
-
Oh honey, I doubt it !!! And the umpire colouring didn't make viewing any easier on TV either, especially in the wet. And this is something you would think that the AFL in all their self righteous wisdom would take into account.
-
That actually came across very clearly on the TV as well..... And I must admit I loved seeing that kind of passion, no poor behaviour, just genuine anger at being screwed over. That crowd number is excellent, and those that went get a huge round of applause !!!
-
Speaking from experience that can make you completely and utterly useless..... I don't know how bad he is, but the exhaustion I feel just getting out of bed (after 12 hours of sleep) is wretched. And it is a very tough thing to get past. I have suffered from it for years. They must be very careful. Hopefully he doesn't experience the same ongoing (read never ending) debilitating condition.
