Ahh yes of course, because all players, despite height, growth, injury etc, must absolutely develop at the same pace. Otherwise they are called upon as failures......

Sunday was bloody awful, no one is going to argue otherwise....... But to say development should not be stood for is frankly insane and just plain wrong. The club must continue to develop to get bigger, stronger, more skilled and thus more successful. We are a work in progress, backwards steps are going to hurt as they should, and the reasons for them should be rectified, whatever they may be. But all teams learn as they go, we are no different.

I follow the 49'ers and hopefully our new coach will finally manage to find some (any) form from a relatively talented but to date fundamentally useless team lead by a catastrophically hot/cold #1 draft pick at QB and a great wide receiver. Yep....... As for Hussey, I'm sorry that this has happened to him but I'm not sure anyone should be automatically included because of precedent. His frustration is clear and fair I guess but he is over 35 years old and had pulled his hammy badly, and unfortunately for him there can't be any half measures here with this team, especially since there are an odd number of replacement rules in place. I'm however not convinced this will be the last we see of him in the PJ's, but it is going to be tough to get back. Especially given the kiddies coming through now.

Frankly I think this is the bit we seem to be forgetting in this somewhat fruitless argument..... Not twelve months ago he was still a school boy and is only now figuring out what it is going to take at this level. He is going to need time and plenty of work. It has been a rough initiation and one that I think we all assumed would have been easier and quicker (because we are always impatient with these kids), but he is still a big kid, learning and developing his body. But he is clearly learning and no question in time will be a wonderful player. Now back to the question of is new contract.......
