Saturday Morning on Demonland (7)
Have our supporters not only join up as members but actually attend match day. We are going to get opposition supporters there this year because most attend games to watch good football but they also want to see a good game. Our supporters are no different. I want to see us outnumber them and I want our supporters to give the players their support on game day. I went to the GWS game at the G and if you closed your eyes you would have thought you were at Goshes on a training day. I'd like opposition teams' supporters to dread the trek to the G to play us. If we have continued success all the other things will flow on, the Home Base, the facilities we need and the respect we deserve.

Those who left on bad terms...
Several years ago I was at a Crown Dees function and was the top bidder for Jack Viney's jumper and he signed it for me. Brian Wilson was at the function and I got him to sign it as well, seeing as he wore number 7 as well. Couple of weeks ago I was at another function and sat next to Jack, I reminded him of the jumper and he said you now have a jumper signed by a Brownlow medalist and a Premiership player.

COVID & AFL 2021
Wow, I'm glad you know what's good for people and Wow, where did you get that assumption from, Norman I haven't got a clue Swann

The Skip!
Got to love the way Max always smiles at the opposition ruck before the ball is bounced. He's an incredible player and person, it's like he's all the other players big brother.

Michael (Mick) Byrne
I thought he was a pretty handy player and was disappointed that he went elsewhere. As I said, his last game with us was disgraceful and it was obvious that he wasn't happy and wanted out.

Michael (Mick) Byrne
I don’t know about shipped out, but I do remember one of his last games and he didn’t even put in an effort. He was simply dreadful and I, at that time, was under the impression he wanted out. I’m not sure what the situation was but I believe he’d asked to be transferred to Hawthorn.

My son has ordered the Blue Ray set through an online site in Qld, he gets other stuff from them, they are about $160 each but contain all the season, plus the finals and special add ons like the half time and that sort of stuff. Apart from that I'm still waiting for my premiership wine and all the other bits I ordered from the Demon Shop. Plus some spare parts I ordered from Breville for my coffee machine, nothing to do with the club but I thought I'd throw that in as well.

FLASHBACK: Bruce Goes Ballistic
We had a policy at that time of not offering more than a one year contract to anyone over 30 and we were inflexible which was stupid. They played Junior in every game and then wouldn't offer him a contract at the end of the year, if my memory serves me he had a poor previous year due to, I think, injury so they offered him a year, then even after he'd played well delisted him.

FLASHBACK: Bruce Goes Ballistic
We offered Cam a one year deal and the Hawks offered two, so he took the two. He approached the Hawks and I believe Clarkson tried to talk him out of leaving Melbourne. I remember when Hawkins played his first game, I think it was, for the Cats and we put Cam on him, he monstered Cam and rag dolled him in the first contest they were in, one of the worst matchups I've ever seen.

A mate of mine and lives next door to Brad and he sent me this. He supports Richmond and was nearly as happy as me that we won.

2021 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow
As the saying goes "we would have Melbourned them", but now we develop them, god only knows how many careers we ruined over the last 20 or so years by playing kids before they were ready. I'm glad Chandler stayed, I watched the Carlton game the other day and he was on the verge of getting it, he almost did a lot of things but was just a bit off, he will improve and be a good player.

Not sure why but Tom reminds me of Todd Viney but a better kick.

2019 Draft Re-Ranked
Taylor seems to genuinely love the game. He's just signed a long term renewal of his contact which means we will have him for a few flags yet. Its ironic that he is really good friends with Bevridge, but he suggested he go elsewhere, Collingwood first and then he came to us. He has been able to pick out players in a number of positions, not just midfielders but talls and defenders and there's no reason we can't get 4 in a row with him doing the recruiting.

For the Bullies it was 😀

With all due respect, that stuff looks horrendous, just everything about it says don't buy me, or if you do, don't ever wear it in public.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
I went to a function the other night and was lucky to be sitting next to Jack Viney and I asked him who , apart from Melbourne, were the best teams and he said Footscray were and they were about on a par with Geelong. He said the two best teams played off in the GF. He didn't rate Port and said they were there because of a soft draw and felt we had the Lions measure, I didn't ask them of the other teams but I got the impression that apart from ourselves, the Bullies and the Cats, the rest were just making up the numbers.

I suggested to one of the committee that we should have a Demons Picnic Rug and he thought it was a great idea and would look in to it. I can't believe we have cheese platters, cheese boards and no picnic rug.

I was told last night that the club ordered 6,000 t/shirts before the GF and they have received orders for 11,000 so they have had to scour the nation to fill the orders, it's been difficult and I can understand that they have had problems. They have also been told by the AFL that they have received more orders for MFC stuff than they did when the Tiges won their first flag, the sleeping giant.

Schadenfreude at last
James Frawley was his best mate at the club, they can have a few good conversations in future years, the one we won and the one you let slip away.

Schadenfreude at last
I can't say, I told you it was the magic word.

Schadenfreude at last
I was Howe's principal sponsor for three years when he was at Melbourne and only ever met him twice, more my doing that his. I had no real desire to waste his time talking [censored] and left him alone, but twice I did sit next to him at functions and I found he was a nice enough guy. Trouble is I have two framed jumpers signed by him, with photos of my family included, and another in a box and I'm not sure what to do with them. I was also the sponsor of Luke Tapscott with similar framed jumpers and the same applies, I refuse to sponsor any players after that, they keep on leaving. BTW, I only ever met Luke once and when he dropped the Magic Word in front of my wife after about a minute, made sure we never talked again.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Every time I go to a friends place, the replay is on and I don't want to be rude so I sit and watch it. Of course, at home I like to watch the season unfold, so I watch the games we played during the year, aside from the losses, and watch our team get better with every win. It's amazing that Fritter has improved so much that he almost took out the Norm Smith, there are other players that also improved dramatically and I can see why some fell out of the side not to return.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
I was just reading the 13 Victories Shaping Melbourne's 13th Flag and the 13th contained this, the Dees piled on 16.4 (100) to the Bulldogs measly 1.1 (7) and ran out 74 point victors I'm still having difficulty coming to terms with this and get the tingles when I think of the last quarter and a half. I've never seen a quarter and a half as devastating as this before.

Just because you've not seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. In fact you've got no idea.
