BTW, the WA member of the board kept his spot, and probably won’t attend any meetings this year.

Unless you've been living under a rock you would know there was more than one Board member up for re election. There was a member from WA who hasn't attended on Board meeting in at least the last 12 months. You would say that to be elected, regardless of your talents, you have to have the support of substantial elements (sponsors, coteries, past players assoc etc) of the club. But A) You don't know that for a fact and B) You have no idea what sort of relationship the other candidates have with the sponsors coteries etc. Anyway the election is over, the AGM is over and I await word on our new facilities and other exciting news on fund raising because let me assure you, they cannot keep going to the same well and getting donations from the same few.

Are you a spokesperson for the board, you seem to have the answers down pat? Perhaps you can answer this, how can a candidate get on the board when the president throws their weight behind the incumbents and almost refuses to recognise the challengers? Vlad would be impressed with that system.

I just watched the PF Dogs and Lions and we should have played the Lions, the umpiring, particularly in the last quarter was deplorable, not sure how many times the Doggies threw the ball and got away with it. Also with about a minute or so left McInerny got done for blocking in the ruck when he extended his knee but it didn't impact the other player and it was merely a "you shouldn't do that free". Speaking of Mcinerney, he was dominating the ruck and palming it down but in the last quarter he continually grabbed the ball out of the ruck and kicked it in to an opposition player, he was trying to win the game off his own boot. The Lions panicked in the last quarter and they lost all semblance of teamwork and were just hacking the ball forward, they should have won easily.

Truth be known, Gus has probably received a starting offer for his next contract and thinks he should get some games under his belt to see if there is a better offer at the middle or end of the year. I can't see Gus leaving, he's popular with the other players and has some good friends at the club, plus why would you want to leave a club that is on the edge of greatness for a bit of extra cash that the government will take half of anyway.

I think that in the GF the two goals kicked by Treloar in the second term were gifts, one by Salem and another by Petty, they were errant handballs under pressure. Even the best make mistakes when under pressure.

I'm having a holiday down at Ocean Grove at the moment and I've been walking heaps in the morning (13.5ks today) so when I get home, completely knackered I watch one of the finals. Yesterday it was the Brisbane game the day before the Cats game and the day before that the Granny. Today, some random game during the year, maybe Essendon. I watched the Dees V Bullies first round game on the weekend and I just can't believe just how good Clarry is, he just seems unstoppable. Weed played a fairly innocuous game but he did get his hands on the ball, he just could't hold his marks, if he had he would have had five or six goals.

As a youngster I recall Laurie having a few battles with Carlton's Laurie Kerr, they were both number 11 for their side and both centremen. Both very good players.

I was at Ceres yesterday, the other side of the mighty Merri Creek and again today, although I did at one point cross the border and had a coffee in a little coffee shop near the bottom of beavers road. Gee it's hard to get the message to you, I didn't say he should get any particular time, I just said that the norm is 3 years and that's PROBABLY what he will get. If you really want to have an argument just go outside and yet at the moon, then when you don't get an answer yell again. But leave me out of your conversation.

No you haven't, 3 years is about the norm, so you don't have to be Einstein to figure that out. I don't agree on anything, I just expect, for reasons stated, that it will be 3 years.
