  1. Sliding doors, Saints take Tracc instead of McCartin and we take Parish instead of Clarrie. Clarrie said in an interview recently he was pretty sure he was going to the Bombers.
  2. I love watching the semi where we absolutely creamed the cats, and one thing both this and the GF have in common is the shell shocked look on the opposition faces, they were in awe of us.
  3. Waking down the bay the other day and a kid ran past me with a demons hat on, too quick to give him the Go Dees, but he ran past me when he was going back and this time I did and he gave the Go Dees back and had the biggest smile on his face. It was a look of pure joy and I'm so glad that our young supporters are able to smile about their team and not just live in hope like most of us have.
  4. I'm pretty sure Junior had glandular fever a couple of years in to his career at Melbourne and had a couple of years where he wasn't playing great football.
  5. And yet, in cricket if a bowler gets 4 wickets in a row it's counted as a double hat trick
  6. Hoping someone can help me, I'm looking for some photos of Christian Salem from the GF and I just can't find any. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot and maybe someone can point me in the right direction. It can be a single shot, or a shot with a group where he features prominently. Thanks in advance.
  7. Just got it home, will see if I can get it hung shortly
  8. The framer sent me a text telling he'd finished with the framing of my Max Pic and I could come and get it, got there and they'd closed for the day, Monday it is then. I've got the perfect spot for it and you won't be able to miss it when you walk through the front door. I'm just watching the replay now, and the moment after Max kicked the goal and Jack picked him up has to be the most memorable of the final; series. I love the GF but this game has a special place in my heart.
  9. Can you tell me where you found it, I'd like to get it as a back up.
  10. Norf are rebuilding and I don't think that BBB was in their calculations for the rebuild I think they wanted to get a player that was coming in to his prime when they were through the rebuild, not finished at the same time as it was completed. I must confess I wasn't a big fan of his and thought he threw our forward line out when he first started playing with us, as it turns out I was wrong. When he was initially dropped, I quietly said to myself, told you so. Yes well....
  11. I've done the same as you, I was rather annoyed when I got the Victory Pack and when I played the GF the lines on the ground were shimmering and distorted. I got 4 packs that cost me over $600n and not only is the picture poor, the umpires voices are muffled like they are in a tunnel. I've got the Blue Ray copies but haven't seen them yet because they were delivered to my son.
  12. I thought exactly the same thing as you.
  13. I think Dustan's got tools but hasn't been shown how to use them, when you're in a side that's not interested in you it can be difficult to shine, maybe if he's given a role and sticks to its he'll do ok. All I'm saying is don't get too excited, in my opinion, he's behind quite a few and whilst he will never work his way to the top he will get a game if there are injuries. Jack Viney should take him under his wing and show him how to win the ball at stoppages and stick a tackle, and Harmsy should give him a few tips on how to tag a player and still win then ball. Williams can teach him to kick and preferably to a teammate. I've seen him did some good things and some bad thinks, when he has to kick the ball in to the forward line he seems to freeze and kicks a grubber or to no one. At Melbourne you are either in or out, you don't half tackle you hit them with all you can, you don't throw a half hearted arm at them. That's Melbourne of old.
  14. You can do just that, but I'd suggest that you watch a couple of his games before you form any opinion. I've watched 6 in the last week and only the ones where he got a lot of possessions so I could get a good picture of him. He had some good patches in several games but nothing sustainable over a full game. There seems to be a disconnect between him and his team mates. I certainly hope I'm wrong but from what I've seen he's behind a lot of players at our club.
  15. Well I've watched a half dozen of his games from last year and I don't know quite where to start, but I will say that there didn't seem to be a great connection between Luke and the other Saints players. There were many times he would be alone calling for the ball and they would ignore him and kick it long down the line to a big contest. Or they would handball to another player who was under the pump who would in turn get rid of it to another equally under pressure, etc.etc. Some of there games I've watched have been appalling and the level of football smarts virtually non existent. But he was never the focal point even though he was metres from any opponent and seemed to be the best option. Luke played predominantly as a tagger and I felt he was a little loose and lost his player as soon as the ball was bounced. He was generally the third tackler in a contest, so the player had been tackled and he just joined in. He doesn't lay tackles like the good taggers. He gets a bit of the ball but does zero damage with his possessions, there are some exceptions but not many. He's certainly not hard at the ball or opposition player. His handball is not bad but his kicking is a bit off. This could be part of the pressure he's been under at the Saints, I'm not saying he plays bruise free football but he he doesn't throw himself around. It just seems to me he drifts through games and doesn't play the brand of football we play.
  16. You are aware that people are still dying, aren't you.
  17. Hotel Quarantine. There are two main types in Victoria, those that love Andrews, (Public Servants, School Teachers, Fire Fighters, Ambos and CFMEU) and the other main group, those that hate him, like me. I can't see much point in arguing with you as you obviously belong in the first group so we will never agree. Andrews effed up Hotel Quarantine and we, the lowly citizens of Victoria, paid the price. What happened is, to me, is as clear as crystal but it isn't to you. That was the biggest problem we faced and the cause of our lockdowns and many deaths. Just as a matter of interest, how do you arrive at the bolded, how can you blame the Feds and exonerate the cause of the Hotel Quarantine stuff up.
  18. How do you figure this out? Explain to me how we allowed every other State to go about their lives. Covid Zero was unacheivable, surely surely can see that now. BTW I think closing Australia' s Border did more to prevent the wholesale spread of Covid than any lockdown, curfew, restriction of distance allowed to travel etc.
  19. We closed the State for 3 months when we had 5 cases, you remember the short sharp one. Now we have over 17000 cases and it's business as usual, my how times have changed. Someone will write a book about this one day and expose the gross mismanagement and over reaction by Governments. You can't hold back the tide no matter how powerful the politicians feel they are.
  20. If we knew what Tmac's instructions were I guess we'd know if he was following them or not, but we don't.
  21. I got a copy of both from my son and that's why I didn't get it for myself, I sort of knew he would. He also gave me a little football with the club theme song on it. My house is looking like the MFC clubrooms.
  22. I ran in to Christian Salem today at JB HI FI and he was really happy that the boys could win a flag for the supporters and they will be going all out to win another this year. Really nice guy and he could probably see how emotional it was for me that they won the flag for us.
  23. I've watched a couple of Dunstan's games and he's not in the same street as Viney. If he gets a game it won't be at the expense of Jack, he will have to improve many aspects of his game to get in to the side.
  24. I'm going to watch all or most of the games that Luke played in this year and so far I'm not convinced he's a better player than Tom Sparrow. He gets a bit of the ball but doesn't use it well and doesn't appear to have the desperation that our players have, he seems to just drift a bit through the game. He may be a better player than I give him credit for, what would i know anyway, but I think he's a long way behind our mids in terms of skill and hardness at the ball and player, he may be a victim of the Saints style of play, which is pretty [censored]. They appear to be a rabble.
  25. Either way the point was made, we tsunam'd them.
