  1. Again, I must be watching a different game, but Grimesy didn't put a foot wrong tonight, and hasn't for the last month and a bit. I am absolutely baffled he was dropped last week.
  2. No excuse for an uncontested mark after the ball has been held up that long. Something needs to change.
  3. Answer me this. How can someone take a mark roughly 80 metres out, wait, wait, wait, and then bomb it in high only for an opposition defender to take an almost uncontested mark. Happened all last week and fairly regularly again today.
  4. Nice grandstanding. So long.
  5. St Kilda deserved to win. And how about next time we hit the lead with 40 seconds left, we wait til after the game to get around and start dry rooting each other.
  6. II know it is negative, but I've got a bad feeling about this game. St. Kilda will bring the pressure, and I just haven't seen enough to think we will cope with it, even if they are very rough around the edges.
  7. Lol, if Gawny is on the lung busters, that will do me
  8. I like Newton but can't complain with him being dropped after a very ordinary game on Monday.
  9. Tend to agree with McDonald on Cloke being a mismatch, and I actually said so at the start of the game, so not just a hindsight hero. If there is anything Tom struggles with, it is wrestling with big monster forwards. Dunn was probably the more obvious choice given he is renowned for being stronger, but must admit, that matchup wouldn't have really inspired me with any more confidence.
  10. That's a fair criticism. He has always looked for safe options, but even more so the last year or two. I think he well and truly stays in the team, but I would be telling him to back himself more.
  11. His intercept marking is elite. And every time he does it, some bell end commentator sounds suprised. He does it week in, week out. If he is still playing like this rounds 17-22, he 100% should go around again.
  12. What is the issue with vandenBerg? I know he was subbed off injured, but I never heard what the issue was. Hopefully he pulls up ok, and also Viney who looked to reinjure his leg. Tyson coming back in next week, hopefully fully over his injury, is a huge in for us. ANB also a big chance to debut.
  13. No doubt Oxley playing loose was a big difference. That and Cloke man handling TMac early. Gawn was good, but he faded as the game went on. His fitness is the issue I have with him, so today didn't really ease my concerns.
  14. FFS, I am not a huge Toumpas fan, but being a 'scaredy cat' is not one of his issues. He definitely lacks composure in congestion, but you just sound like a wood duck continually bringing him up each and every week.
  15. I always thought he was one of the better small forwards in the league, up until his last year or two anyway. If he could get over his set shot yips, you would be looking at a potential 50-60 goal a year and 4-5 tackles a game small forward. But even with those yips he is a huge improvement on what we had.
  16. Am I the only one that thinks Grimes has been pretty good this year since he came back into the team? My early predictions (I haven't read the contract thread so a couple could be wrong): DELIST McKenzie, Bail, M.Jones, Fitzpatrick, Terlich, Hunt UP FOR TRADE (realistically trade 2 or 3 of this group, but most of these will have at least some currency, and would clear some cap space) Dawes, Watts, Howe, Toumpas RETIRE (maybe 1 more year from Cross) Jamar
  17. While true, Roos didn't change much when they got on top, any changes would have been in vain, we had ground to a halt with our run, and no matter what, we were in deep strife. Selection perhaps more of an issue yesterday than any potential match day coaching issues. Given the clear exhaustion, some of the tackles and other efforts were embarrassing. There was one in particular that was so embarrassing I just shook my head, but won't go into detail as will probably get howled down for picking on one of the whipping boys.
  18. From your list I would give Hogan, Brayshaw, Garland, Cross and Grimes a pass mark, the rest ranged from ordinary to utterly embarrassing, and it was the usual whipping boys who were the worst, so won't mention names.
  19. Typical. During our 45 minutes of dominance we slowly edge the lead up to 24 and then bang, the opposition pile on 6 quick ones. All games ebb and flow, we need need to stem the bleeding when they get on top.
  20. Loving his work so far. Looks like he still has improvement left in him in terms of his fitness, and given that he is coming off 1 half AFL pre-season, that is exciting rather than worrying.
  21. OUT: M.Jones - did well, but given the concussion combined with the 6 day break and flight, he won't play Bail - can't believe people are trying to say he had a good game, he may done part of his job defensively, but you need more than 5 disposals, 3 tackles, missed his only chance on goal, which was crucial Newton or Riley - either would be a bit stiff, but one will need to make way if all of Jetta, Viney and Tyson are fit IN: Jetta Viney Tyson
  22. And I think I saw Dean Kent still 10-12. He was injured a month ago and I thought it was 10-12 then. Reminds me of one of the opening scenes of Snatch when Turkish is asking how long until the sausages are ready.
  23. McCarthy has been excellent and was excellent again on the weekend against the crows who are a good team. Quite amusing listening to the conspiracy theories on here.
