FFS that is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. I’m just glad they didn’t kill the poor bastard.

The healthy ego of Paul Roos and our current plight.

The start of the OP was more about his current comments in the media when talking about us, which are equal parts insightful and stubborn IMO. As for talking about the past and his time at the club, he got some decisions wrong, but it's impossible to strike at 100%. He did wonders and set us on the right track. My only concern about his tenure is the biggest decision of them all...his successor. -

I noticed this as well on the couch one night a few weeks back. When the others were talking about our lack of spread and outside run, he effectively said while it wasn't our strength, it certainly wasn't a weakness. -
For me, our forward movement was consistently butchered by fumbling and missed handballs. You say the forward line was non existent but the ball barely even made it there due to handling errors. Not sure what the inside 50 count was, but they had pretty much doubled us last time I saw it. I’m not really sticking up for Goody, as I’ve been very critical of him, but there’s nothing he can do about those handling errors. It was amateur hour out there.

I’ve been critical of Goodwin so far this year, but he made some positive moves today imo, but the skills have been possibly the worst I have seen from a Melbourne side for a decade, and that’s saying something. So many fumbles and missed handballs. Can’t blamed Goody for that [censored].

Well, it’s an improvement. Team defence looking a lot better, but still all at sea going forward.
-
I’m really intrigued to see what Goodwin does tonight. There are numerous factors why we suck at the minute, but none more so than our system. We may not win tonight, but a competitive effort, particularly defensively, will at least give me some faith in Goodwin.

I like the changes, although it’s a pity Preuss and Jetta are injured. Should be a few positional changes to compliment the personnel changes as well, the main one being TMac.
-
With Jetta out, that likely means Lewis stays in the side, which is unfortunate

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again

Not just Jones and Lewis on the wing yesterday, but we had Tyson out there most of last year. It’s one of the main reasons I am struggling with Goodwin. It’s so obvious it’s an issue but we have seen no attempt to fix it. -
That’s the spirit

Nobody banging down the down, but we have to bring in some run. Stretch is an obvious one. Neal-Bullen is no good, but I think we have to play him, even if it’s on a wing to run and cover the oppositions spread a bit. Garlett for some nous around goals. I’d also swing the magnets around a bit and put TMac to play much further up the ground, or in defence. All in all, I am going... IN - Stretch, ANB, Garlett, Lockhart OUT - Spargo, C. Wagner, Lewis, J. Wagner Hardly inspiring, but that at least adds some run.
-
I agree with the first 2 lines, but is that 3rd line an actual quote? It wouldn't surprise me tbh.
-
Should have played the seniors game as the curtain raiser. At least then I would have known to keep an eye on the potential top few picks in the next draft in this game.
-
That was a bad miss, but he made amends about 60 seconds later from the same spot. I've seen better players than Petracca miss the same shot from time to time.
-
FFS, there are loads of problems, but Petracca certainly ain't one of them. He's actually one of the only players in at least decent form and doing his part.

Goodwin is in charge of the game plan as a whole. The back 6 in isolation are only part of a much larger problem.
-
Tbf, the one I will say is Stretch. I know he’s not the saviour, but he’s someone who can provide us what we don’t have, he can run both ways on a wing.
-
I’m happy to play short
-
I’m honestly concerned signing Goodwin for 4 more years on the back of a good month will be a crippling decision.
-
Of course there are [censored] decisions, happens every week, nothing new. It’s literally the last thing I am concerned about right now.
-
Alright mate. You worry about the umps ?
-
Coaching/structure issue and we have just re-signed him for 4 years, happy days. Goodwin speaking as I write, and as predicted, he just mentions lifting around the ball. It’s his plan A, B, C, right through to Z.
-
You are diverting. Nothing wrong with the umpiring.
-
There is an obvious pattern in our games and Goodwin can’t fix it. Simple as that.
