Absolutely love Vanders. One of my favourites.

Hannan's Goal Is Better With Titanic
That's actually perfect that the music kicks in just as he beats his opponent. And the look on Chris Scott's face is possibly the best thing about it.

Opposition Watch: Elimination Final
Tom Hawkins is a Finely lad, so I can't bring myself to dislike him. Plus he is actually a very nice guy. Cant stand the rest of them though, especially Selwood and Chris Scott. Ablett is a great player but sooks to the umps too much for my liking.

Gerard Whately is a Moron
I don't mind Whately, but he has these weird awkward silences when talking to callers, which is quite cringeworthy. In general though, he is much better than most.

If Clarry CHOO CHOO DOESNT make AA I will..
Not quite sure what your beef is in this thread. I saw around 10 predicted media sides in the last week or so, and all had him in the side (all bar one starting). So to continually try and call out posters for bias seems a little odd. Most supporters wanted to see him get his just reward, and as far as I'm concerned, he did, as I couldn't care less about starting vs bench.

If Clarry CHOO CHOO DOESNT make AA I will..
If you are referring to the AA selection this year, then absolutely not. If you are referring to the list of career achievements, I actually reigned them back in a bit after my first draft ?

If Clarry CHOO CHOO DOESNT make AA I will..
While I get this line of thinking, it's not about you or me. The bloke should get the credit he deserves, and he deserves an All Australian jumper to tell his grandkids about. The first of many I'm sure, and will sit nicely besides a few B&Fs, a couple of premierships and a Brownlow.

Chris Judd thinks we celebrated too hard.
Marko went whack! Not a huge Mark Allen fan, but good on him. Judd is coming across as a massive [censored].

Favourite Current Dee
And my wife picked Nev out even before he was delisted and rookied, so she loves reminding me of it everytime he does something well. My son loves Jonesy, and my daughter loves "Pig".

Favourite Current Dee
100% Oliver. People think I'm nuts the way I talk about him. I will rewind it when he does something incredible in tight and make everyone watch.

Nathan Freeman
Alarm bells left, right and centre. No thanks.

The Road to the Cup
I'm definitely not confident about us against anyone, but just playing out scenarios if we were to go on a run in finals. And ultimately, if we were to go on a deep run, we wouldn't want to be travelling 2 or 3 times.

The Road to the Cup
Completely fantasy, but here is a dream run to the flag based on current positions, defeating the following teams... Elimination Final vs Geelong Semi Final vs Hawthorn Prelim Final vs Collingwood Grand Final vs Richmond One can dream.

The Road to the Cup
That's right. I hadn't actually factored in Hawthorn potentially finishing 4th via a small win. That would be a great result imo. We would obviously have to win our first final, but I would rather play Hawthorn at the G than head to travel to Sydney to play the Swans. Edit: or the pies at the G, I think they are a better team than Hawthorn

Round 23 Non MFC Games
If this is a draw, my hours spent on the ladder predictor will be rendered useless.

The Road to the Cup
I think the AFL recently said they would play any home finals at Spotless, even against the Swans. They played a prelim there against the doggies, so I can't see why they would move a game against us. And if they were going to move it, it would be to the Olympic Stadium (whatever that is called these days), rather than the SCG I would have thought. Anyway, hopefully that is irrelevant if we beat them tomorrow.

Flawed competition rewards mediocrity
I don't really buy this argument. Collingwood and Melbourne haven't fared as well against other top 8 sides, but at the same time, we haven't dropped multiple games against weaker sides, like Hawthorn, Geelong and other sides have, which is a battle in itself. The finals will see if either us or Collingwood are good enough.

The Road to the Cup
Posted in the non-MFC games thread, but we need to win tomorrow. If we don't, the following looks likely... Elimination Final vs GWS at Spotless Semi Final vs Sydney at the SCG Prelim Final vs West Coast at Optus A few results that would help would be: a) us beating GWS (obviously), which would mean an elimination final against Geelong at the G b) Hawthorn beating Sydney tonight would put Collingwood in our path, rather than Sydney c) West Coast losing their first final would mean we wouldn't have to travel to Perth at any stage

Round 23 Non MFC Games
Or we need Hawthorn to win to keep Victorian sides in our side of the draw
-
Round 23 Non MFC Games
By my calculations, we need to win tomorrow, otherwise it could be travel every week of the finals to go on any sort of run. Elimiation final vs GWS at Spotless Semi final vs Sydney at the SCG Prelim final vs West Coast at Optus That would be impossible.
-
Round 23 Non MFC Games
Pretty sure that is wrong. If we lose, we will be 8th, and GWS will be 5th, so we will play them again, although in Sydney this time.
-
Round 23 Non MFC Games
So it's all starting to narrow a little bit... Win = 5th = Geelong at the G Lose = 8th = GWS in Sydney Win that first final and we play the loser of 1st vs 4th, which is looking likely to be either Sydney in Sydney, or Collingwood at the G.
