Vanders- What a Gun, Tough Story
Absolutely love Vanders. One of my favourites.

Hannan's Goal Is Better With Titanic
That's actually perfect that the music kicks in just as he beats his opponent. And the look on Chris Scott's face is possibly the best thing about it.

Gerard Whately is a Moron
I don't mind Whately, but he has these weird awkward silences when talking to callers, which is quite cringeworthy. In general though, he is much better than most.

Nathan Freeman
Alarm bells left, right and centre. No thanks.

The Road to the Cup
I'm definitely not confident about us against anyone, but just playing out scenarios if we were to go on a run in finals. And ultimately, if we were to go on a deep run, we wouldn't want to be travelling 2 or 3 times.

The Road to the Cup
Completely fantasy, but here is a dream run to the flag based on current positions, defeating the following teams... Elimination Final vs Geelong Semi Final vs Hawthorn Prelim Final vs Collingwood Grand Final vs Richmond One can dream.

The Road to the Cup
That's right. I hadn't actually factored in Hawthorn potentially finishing 4th via a small win. That would be a great result imo. We would obviously have to win our first final, but I would rather play Hawthorn at the G than head to travel to Sydney to play the Swans. Edit: or the pies at the G, I think they are a better team than Hawthorn

The Road to the Cup
I think the AFL recently said they would play any home finals at Spotless, even against the Swans. They played a prelim there against the doggies, so I can't see why they would move a game against us. And if they were going to move it, it would be to the Olympic Stadium (whatever that is called these days), rather than the SCG I would have thought. Anyway, hopefully that is irrelevant if we beat them tomorrow.

The Road to the Cup
Posted in the non-MFC games thread, but we need to win tomorrow. If we don't, the following looks likely... Elimination Final vs GWS at Spotless Semi Final vs Sydney at the SCG Prelim Final vs West Coast at Optus A few results that would help would be: a) us beating GWS (obviously), which would mean an elimination final against Geelong at the G b) Hawthorn beating Sydney tonight would put Collingwood in our path, rather than Sydney c) West Coast losing their first final would mean we wouldn't have to travel to Perth at any stage

James Harmes take a bow.
Good call. He has lifted from that middle bunch to one of our most important players. I always think those players who can lock down an opposition gun and impact the game going the other way are underrated. Not a pure tagger, but more of a hybrid role, similar to what Vince did a couple of years back.

Andrew Gaff
Well he is second favourite for the brownlow, sorry was second favourite. TBH I've never been a huge Gaff fan, but there is no doubt he fills a big need for us in terms of a better inside/outside mix.

Run home to Finals - 2018
Like others, I have done some ladder predicting, but mine is obviously spot on, so here goes... 0 wins = 10th = No Finals 1 win = 7th = Finals 2 wins = 5th = Home Elimination Final 3 wins = 2nd = Home Qualifying Final

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
Rumours are Stephen May is gettable. He would be my number 1 priority. We need someone to mind gorilla forwards, and while OMac has improved, if he is playing on the likes of Hawkins, we are no chance.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
He has been good this year tbh, although his lack of discipline for a player of his experience is unforgivable. It potentially cost us 4 points in round 1, and he still hasn't learnt.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
I'm not a Lewis fan, but thought he was good today. I've said it all year, but either he or Vince has to to go. As it stands, I'd swap Vince for Hunt in a heart beat.

Andrew Gaff
West Coast reportedly have an offer on the table for 750k x 4 years. Given he is a restricted free agent, we would probably have to go higher than that. That sort of money is starting to get up to the pointy end of players in the competition, and I've never been 100% convinced by Gaff. But there is no doubting he fills a need.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
It just doesn't really stack up, unless there is something off field we don't know about. Good key forwards are hard to find He had a horrible year, so floating him for trade would be poor form Given the year he had, his value would be nowhere near as high as it could be We had already decided to move on Watts, so moving on Hogan also would be a huge call Nothing personal, but I'm just not buying it

Angus Brayshaw
He will surely get his chance next week. He can play half forward, half back or through the middle, and there are a handful of players in those positions he could come in for and replace.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
I reckon it is because 99% of posters have no idea about the draft crop, so they just look at the things they can easily digest, like someone's height. I wouldn't read anything into what most posters say about the draft.
