It's got to the stage where I actually feel sorry for him. I can barely look when he is speaking, and I fear for the even further humiliation he cops when he finally is removed. As it stands, he will go down in folklore as one of the worst coaches ever in modern football.

I hope so. This can't continue.

Welcome to Demonland ... PETER JACKSON
Forest Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good stuff Jacko. Take this club by the balls. God knows someone needs to. -
I thought this was pretty much revealed earlier in the year wasn't it. Hard to believe this year could have been any worse than last, but I think this one is making last year look like 1964 in comparison.

Living in Brisbane, I have little interest in the VFL other each of Casey's games, but jesus Bendigo must be rubbish. 2000 to 1, when no other side is over hundreds.

Midfield Statistics - How Important?
Forest Demon replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep. If Neeld can find a way to work this stat to somewhere near the rest if the comp it will go a long way to making us consistently competitive. Running hard, running smart, and using the ball better are some things that will help, but not sure we have the midfield to do it. -
Yes, but in my opinion he can afford a loss to Carlton, but a loss to an expansion side would just about be the end of him. Next week isn't any more of a must win for the MFC than any other game, but for Neeld I think it is.
-
Not sure what to make of today. First half the intent looked good, we had more inside 50s than Carlton in the entire first half which is a big positive, but we just butchered it so badly. We made some easy things that should have been certain goals look incredibly difficult. Second half was ordinary, but not quite as bad a fade out as we saw earlier in the year, not that that is anything to hang our hats on. I just done understand how we can still have such a rubbish midfield after all these years collecting high draft picks. As we can all see we still get hammered in the uncontested ball and somehow also in the tackles at the same time. Another big game for Neeld next week against the Gold Coast.

Happy to swallow my pride with Col. He has been terrific the last few weeks. I am trying hard to take note of who is consistently playing well in these rubbish times, and Garland is certainly winning me over.
-
The only thing I will say in rhino's defence is while they are working with the same cattle, Royal wouldn't have much to do with list management and therefore the group of players he has to work with, whereas Neeld has heavily shaped our list over the last off season, and for the short term at least has considerably weakened our midfield. Although ultimately, neither have any runs on the board yet.

First few minutes. When Strauss won after on the boundary I think

I agree he is obviously at least partly to blame, just have to avoid letting the relationship deteriorate to such a level. But anyway, we covered it in depth last week so no use having the same conversation each week.
-
Boys having a good dip, but geez we make the easy look so hard and just can't rack up cheap kicks like other teams can.
-
Is this going to be one of those threads that gets bumped each week depending on whether he has a good game or a bad game. To me, whether he has a shocker today, even if he has a shocker for the rest of the season, he should still be at our club. And we got next to nothing for him.
-
While I get your point, I am 99% sure Tynan never got anywhere near 25/30 touches in either of his games. In fact, I remember him looking a bit out of his depth and being put back to Casey accordingly. And Evans is currently playing his best footy now with injuries behind him. I do agree with your sentiment but not really the examples.
-
Interesting indeed. He hardly has the most damaging kick that is going to open sides up, but there is nothing wrong with hitting the easy option. He has been one of the better ones the last few weeks, so good on him.
-
If you told me we could have Mark Williams coaching the club tomorrow, with no expensive pay out to Neeld, with no drawn out interview process, I would take it in a heart beat, but its not that simple unfortunately. I honestly don't know what I want anymore, apart from a competitive football club to follow.

Ken Hinkely went old school Mark Neeld goes back to school
Forest Demon replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
The people in this thread aren't Neeld apologists, they just don't get what line the OP is trying to draw. And while your points about man management may well be correct, that is not what the OP was on about. -

Puts ridiculous thread out there...gets deservedly shot down...embarrassed and claims troll. -
The relationship between him and the club was definitely untenable by seasons end, it is more about how it was let to get to such a stage that concerns me, and I'm sure he is at least partly to blame but as you say, would love to know the full story.

14th....where do I sign? Said at the time I wanted Moloney to stay and what I have seen so far this year from our midfield and his performances at Brisbane, we got this whole situation horribly wrong (again).

Watts back, beard gone and salvation is on its way.
Forest Demon replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
When did I say I was giving an in-depth summary of his game. It was one simple bit of play which sums up what I don't like about his game. Of course he did some good things yesterday, because he does certain things brilliantly such as use the footy. And no, I won't lower my expectations of him. -

Forest Demon replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
No that was not the reason. He was clearly frustrated his 'effort' wasn't honoured. I am not in the delist Watts camp. I think he is best 22, but he will never be any better than an average player until he develops more urgency in his game. Anyone who can't see that is delusional. He was from our worst yesterday but he can be so much more, and I for one, don't really want to just accept that a sublimely talented first pick is going to be a skilful bit part player for the rest of his career. -

Forest Demon replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Living in Brisbane I don't get to go to anymore than 3 or 4 games a year and yesterday was my first for the year. I watched Jack Watts present an option while Frawley was taking a kick in. He cantered at little more than a walk about 30 metres out from goal, with his arms out as if to say 'why aren't you kicking me the ball?'...well jack, maybe that is because you are going at walking pace and haven't even made a metre gap from your opponent. Was unbelievably lazy and pretty much sums up my thoughts on Jacks intensity or lack thereof. -
Tom McDonald can't even halve a contest at the moment. Such a different player to the one who was superb last year apart from the odd hook foot.
