There is some talent there no doubt, especially at either end of the ground. Pick 2 or 3 on another gun mid, and who knows, maybe even a priority pick. Maybe bolster it even a little more through Free Agency if possible and you are looking at a pretty talented group.

The old goals greater than minutes rule works pretty well I guess. I will admit that I put the feet up when Howe took the lead to 40+

Looks like he is going to knuckle down for the rest of this year and next year. If we are showing signs of improvement, he will stay. If we are still terrible and a long as he is busting his nuts for the jumper, you can't have too many qualms with him if he wanted to look elsewhere. Personally, I think we will be on the improve and he will sign in the middle of next year.

I would think most of us on here are smart enough to know our midfield is very sub standard, despite the win last night.

Great to get a win that I actually care about, unlike the GWS win earlier in the year. Geez we were cooked in the middle in that last quarter. Minson was ridiculously dominant. Gawn had done so well up until that stage. I really like Nicho as a tagger, has a huge tank, has speed, and just has more strings to his bow than McKenzie IMO.

Must admit I got this one wrong. I wasn't overly keen on chasing him. Seems to thrive on the extra responsibility of being one of the leaders and more experienced guys.

Take no prisoners boys. Put the doggies to the sword. This is so much fun compared to the rest of the year do far.

Matt Burgan articles - how do you take them?

If I had the time and energy to engage you Sat, I would. But I have better things to do with with my time. Ill let you get back to scanning DL for any remotely negative posts. -

FFS, for the love of god, give it a rest. I am allowed to answer a question aren't I. Just said I found him not charismatic enough for camera and even alluded to the fact he looks to be down by the position we are in. -

Hate to be harsh, but as soon a he opens his mouth on DeeTV, I am fighting off sleep. He has such a bland and monotonous voice. Who knows, maybe if we start winnig games and he, and his interviewees, have something to be happy about, he might spark to life. -
Yep, fairly obvious they are both gone at the end of the year I would have thought. Thought Magner was worth a run in the guts at some stage this year, but not to be.
-
I like the changes. Good work Craigy.

I never really thought spelling applied to nicknames. Hardly on his birth certificate.

I have always had a strong dislike for this guy whenever he opens his mouth. And the above comments do not surprise me one bit. Comes across as an arrogant [censored].

Changes Next Week v Western Bulldogs
Forest Demon replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I too like Tall's team. Perhaps Jetta, Magner or another mid in for Byrnes. I bet the team will come out tomorrow and we will all be dumbfounded though. The thought process of us on here rarely aligns with their thinking. But if Pedersen plays, I won't be happy. -

My take on Watts game was that although statistically it wasn't a massive game, I saw more of the things I wanted to see from him in terms of aggression etc. He has had 20+ possession games in the past that have been awful and full of cheapies. If he plays at that level each week, Saturday's performance would become a baseline and we would see dramatic improvement. -
My choice for what it's worth, which isn't much, is Roos if he really wants it, otherwise Neil Craig.
-
Very underwhelming. I just can't see what he brings. Too short to ruck at all, shirks the contest consistently. He got better as the game went on yesterday but his first quarter was on par with anything Gillies served up in his illustrious career at the MFC. 3 years really is a baffling decision.

Changes Next Week v Western Bulldogs

I challenge anyone to watch the first 10 minutes and make a case for Cameron Pedersen. Shirked at least 2 or 3 contests. I would prefer a young goer like Davis in any day over this joke of a footballer. -
If Spencer gets more weeks than Simpkin then.....
Forest Demon replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Spencer is gone for at least a couple and that is a shame as that was easily the best I have seen him play. -
I thought today was a noticeable improvement. But I just don't get how we conisistently dominate certain periods of play and can't turn it into anything, yet the opposition just break away and kick cheapies. We should have won that second quarter by at least three goals yet I'm not even sure we broke even.

A lot of whinging in this thread but I'm not fussed by that team. It is not as if we have superstars waiting in the wings.
-
That was tougher than it should have been, but we are there and that is all that matters

Thanks for your efforts Don. Will be very interested to hear what he has to say tomorrow.or whenever he speaks.

For once, he was actually a bit critical and didn't treat us as idiots for at least part of the press conference. And one senior player he would have been talking about was Jordie McKenzie. In the leadership group so has to be considered 'experienced', and continually fluffed his disposals.
