  1. Vince Replaced by ANB (suspension) Michie replaced by OMac (need a tall, Viv unlucky) If jetta suspended (i doubt but could happen) Leave Michie in Harmes replaced by Kent (Only if fit. Harmes needs consistancy but he will be best 22 this time next year)
  2. Too harsh, he presented well did some gut running and got burnt a number of occasions and some of his i50 kicks were first class, took plenty on marks and was outnumbered at the contest consistantly like all our forwards. Every time the ball hit the ground in the forward half, we were going to be in trouble. Their zone is exaclty the same as ours and they execute it well. You're right that his goals were in junk time but it was deserving of his effort for the day. Lets face it if it wasnt for his past years there wouldnt even be a discussion.
  3. Agreed after round 2 Tyson hasnt put a foot wrong I was frustrated by him then but its stupid to be saying he was poor now. Like all the [censored] on the day giving it to Watts after that 1 dropped mark, was the only mistake he made all day, frustrating yes but he was far from our worst.
  4. Im not convinced we looked that slow, they just looked really fast the number of times they got lightning quick and accurate handballs off (excluding the throws) was incredible. They are one of if not the best forward running sides, once they got through we were always gonna struggle. At least a few passages of play I think we zoned and pressured very well but their precision disposal was just too good and they got forward anyway. I'm remembering a worm burner around the corner under someone arm along the members wing hitting a bulldogs forward on the chest, you just cant defend that. That confidence and execution is all we lacked.
  5. Hard game to assess, - Michie played well but will stuggle to keep his spot long term - Aside from in the warm up i dont think i saw Bugg all day but that could just mean he was under packs - Hunt and wagner get passes cos they are young and had to deal with some mighty slick/fast ball movement (doesnt mean they will both stay in the team though). - Garland has copped alot but im not sure he did much wrong same with Tmac (aside from 1 or 2 dropped marks). - We missed Kent's pressure forward we needed harmes to step up and take his role and he just didnt. - Pedo like most roleplayers only seem to play the role when the team plays well we are desperate for the Weed and or Hulett to develop and break in sooner rather than later. Not sure what happens short term All in all I think we made them earn it, we were not pushovers like we very well could have been. Unfortunatly we are still a couple of steps off the best teams, simply where we are at. No need for panic, we were never gonna beat them if they played well. Loses like that we can wear as long as we win the next 2 against teams we can/should beat.
  6. Jones - Didnt lead well Viney - cant go alone Jetta - Keeps getting better Oliver - another down day Watts - presented, finished well Hogan - couldn't finish efforts Harmes - Rising star crash Stretch - Deseves more games Michie - Needs more class Gawn - Well nobody's perfect CP5 - some exciting clearances Vince - another undisciplined act Kennedy - Effort without reward Tyson - Liking his 2016 Salem - Needs ball more Bugg - ??? didnt see much Perdersen - not effective enough Garlett - A solid "meh" TMac, Garland, Hunt, Wagner - Copped others turnovers some tough ones to assess but i thought id give it a go
  7. Not really, the decision was right, the rule is just [censored]. A free goal for a player who did nothing is just stupid. I was more concerned that we were playing Canterbury Bulldogs, some of their rugby passes were first class. Umpiring complaints aside 4-5 goal loss and plenty of effort is about where we should be against the dogs. Disappointing we couldn't get the scalp but really just was what I expected, looking forward to next week!.
  8. He has been held completely its not impossible, i watched him against north and he was more a detriment to the team than anything else. Lock him down early and he will get frustrated, but let him off the hook early and there will be no stopping him
  9. Im also very conserned about Dahlhaus he kill us every time. His has more tackles, uncontested possessions, goal assists, contested marks, rebound 50s, and brownlow votes against Melbourne than against any other team.
  10. Dunn would be run off the park by qtr time against stringer. I would think tom will go to him, whether he should or not is debatable but he does have height, mobility, strength and endurance so if anyone we have can match him its Tom. Maybe Garland could do it if they want to have Tom focused more on intercept marks but id rather wagner/hunt taking those marks while the experienced guys are worrying about the opponents. However we all know that the team defence will mean stringer spends alot of time on his own.
  11. oh i dont think he will play many games but he is a developed ruckman who can play if we need him. I think he is a very good backup who we should keep around the club longer term, but i get your point.
  12. Would have liked to see them sign him through till 2018/19 to stregthen the ruck stocks longer term but either way thats good news
  13. That is a finals bound team! I'd swap Harmes for Bugg,Wagner for Prince and if he continues improving Hunt might be in over Trenners but other than that it looks pretty damn good to me. Not to mention melksham who Goody is a big fan of. Realistically we wont get 3 of all those new guys in but its fun to dream haha.
  14. Yeah i know its the missing men that means they struggle, we have to exploit it, winning out of the middle is our best bet to get scores, but that is no easy feat. The dogs dont have star ruckmen so they are very good at reading it off the opposition ruckman, i have no doubt on Gawn's ability to get mass hitouts but its his precision tap work needs to be on point for us to win. We talk about the guys at his feet but it doesnt really matter which ones of them play well, Gawn is the one that needs to play the blinder for us to win, as it will be whenever we play top teams.
  15. An arm, a leg, a palace, a tropical island, and for us to tank every time we play them and even then they probably wouldnt want to give him up.
  16. Im pretty similar but id order it Jenkins, Hurley, Prestia, Swallow, Saad... Gaff? i wouldnt be upset but not sure he is worth too much time in. I might add Tomlinson if the other KP options fall through I think Jenkins fills the ruck forward role we are begging for and Hurley is the second KPD we need but have some options (O Mac albeit a little young, Pedo goes back and is physical enough, frost if they stop being so damn stubborn, Garland if he gets back to his best)
  17. I used to think the media has short memories but i cant get over how many people are jumping for joy about a win against a team that lost by 120 the week before! we essentially beat melbourne of 2012/13. Yeah it was a fantastic game to watch after so much pain and I hope we start to bully lower quality teams like that. However this sudden overwhelming confidence in us beating a potential top 4 side is a but unwarrented. We have a chance no doubt, but its a brave man who tips us to win. Have to say though, in writing this I have never wanted more to be wrong.
  18. He umpired their game the week before against the lions as well
  19. I'm optomistic that we have a chance but they are a very high pressure team which stkilda proved we have not quite gotten to a point where we can deal with that kind of pressure. If we can get it thought their wall then we will be have a huge go because their last line of defence struggled very much once adelaide got it through but if we cant then we may be in for a tough afternoon.
  20. I love saad's pace but from what i have seen of saad if he doesnt have the ball in hand he is little more than a witches hat I dont think we can add that kind of 1 way player esspecially to play on defence. I could be wrong but im not convinced he is worth investing much in, at this point. Hall I like more but i think we will struggle to get him. Dion is our best chance and even that would require a hell of an effort, I think they will want to sign Hogan first keeping him should be more important than spending to bring in other talent. Like another poster said GWS has a deeper list with talent who cant get in. Personally I think we should be going at 1 or 2 of them who are after more oppertunities for shrapnel rather than spending alot on 1 player.
  21. Agree on Salem in and the assesment of the guys in the 2's. Problem is we have that good problem but too many our players are full of potential but inconsistent. Because there are so many selection challenges they are going to make alot of section mistakes. Its impossible to tell which players are going to match this weeks efforts and which are going to have a down week. Michie was servicable without setting the world on fire but for all we know he could step up again, it was his first game at the level in quite a while. Stretch showed good signs but didnt garantee himself another week. Oliver has had some fantastic games but also struggled in others. Tracc has only played 2 games stepping up from last week but will suddenly come up against much better opposition. These guys and more could all go either way this week. None 'deserve' to come out but we dont know what we will get this week. Another up week we have a chance to push them, a down week and we will be in all sorts very early. Good luck to the footy dept, they'll need it
  22. Dunn will be slaughted by that lightning fast Bulldog forwardline. Reality is the dogs forwards are only good when they in space so our defenders are not as important as our defencive effort from midfielders/forwards to slow them down. Anyone that shows a hint of being tired needs to be rested otherwise we will be run off the park. As far as changes go, I think Michie and Stretch are in trouble not for any fault of their own, just because of the concussed boys who are likely to come back in.
  23. has that video ever been so long?? fantastic stuff
  24. Watts and Hogans second halves will be unnoticed to some but i think the coaches would have been thirlled, their movement and presence created space for others which was vital to the win. When you dont set the world on fire in the first then choose sacrafice your game for the benifit of the team and play that decoy role, that really gets a tick with the coaches
  25. Yeah i think all things considered its actually not that bad for long term performance. Its better than flat out stats. However i would like an option to limit it to just this year and see how it looks because i think we would have a few more than in the top 100
