  1. I will stand and applaud anyone who finds a way to tip 9 this week. God help us tipsters
  2. I can appreciate a good pun, consider that a hit.
  3. I'd love to hear the sledges if he plays and then miscues a kick
  4. Agree the AFL will be looking very closely at the attendance on sunday and will weight heavily on what they do next year
  5. Fully agree, all we can do now is cross fingers and pray we come to play
  6. Ok i see what you mean but if they dont name him then they wouldnt have a choice. I dont think they intend to play him either, maybe he is 20% chance of playing but they name him then they have the choice later.
  7. I fail to see your point, we named Garlett and were also not conviced of his fitness. We play sunday night and thats a long way from thursday night. I suspect that neither club would name a squad if they didnt have to.
  8. Yeah of course we are, its good fun.
  9. I Know right! I would understand if they had to get Etihad game numbers up but that same weekend Carlton plays a home game at the G.... Why cant they just swap them so both teams get to play at their actual home grounds?
  10. I cant comment on the falling thing dont get that, but i do get the boundary problem but id rather not see 5m closer to the boundary (or stand a little) and be able to see the other side of the ground. I feel like down the bottom you cant see the other half of the ground. Regardless I think 2nd level is best, close and high enough to see but thats always reserved because of all the $$$
  11. I have had this thought also. Good news is the top deck will be actually be open so i'll be able to see the damn game instead of sitting down the bottom and seeing nothing.
  12. haha I'm part of that generation But being a melbourne supporter since birth has taught me things are never handed to you.... Unless you follow Hawthorn or Geelong then they just hand out flags whenever you want them
  13. Big thing for him, would first time in his life he has been fit and not picked in a side. Could be good for him give him even more motivation
  14. Yeah just heard this too, not really what i wanted to hear.
  15. good play by the club, if CP5 plays maybe we wont notice Garlett has missed 3 after being a certainty haha
  16. Credit to the opposition though, the zone from a kick in is very difficult to penetrate. I would much rather them kick out long to a contest than try and pin point a near impossible kick in the defensive 50... we all know where that leads. The risk is ok if it comes out of the kick in quick but the normal post set shot zone makes short kicks very dangerous (stkilda found that out the hard way on the weekend)
  17. hahah yeah... sorry to Rob but untill 2 minutes ago i didnt know he existed. Hope he recovers well, wouldnt wish a knee injury on anyone
  18. "Petracca Knee - Last weekend" I nearly died
  19. Yes at his best he would be in the team but so far this season he hasnt been at his best and probably wouldnt be in the team this week even if he was fit. Carrying this ankle may be the reason for the iffy form but i would be surprised if he came straight back into the side after this layoff. I expect him to play at Casey and earn it back. And if they want to have him play forward he needs to work on his finishing. He continues to miss shots he shouldnt.
  20. honestly i wouldn't hate to see him play all 3 at Casey, remember he has only played one full game (assuming 85% is full) in a year and a half. His form is outstanding but some more full runs would be good for him. Thats just my opinion, maybe the club will decide his form is too good to ignore.
  21. Agreed his biggest task year 1 and 2 was to find a way to have a VFL team compete at AFL level and given the loses before that, i think he did a pretty good job. When we look back in a few years time i think we will really appreciate what he has done for this club.
  22. Would you like a tin foil hat to go with your conspiracy theory?
  23. I dont so much value their opinion as am interested because it sparks conversation. Their job is pretty hard, they are expected to comment on every club every week with limited exposure to some of them, unlike us who can watch melbourne and have a better understanding on where we are at (or just get swept up off a weeks performance). But im less conserned by jorno's opinion being right or wrong than i am about them spouting "Facts" that are wrong
  24. From what ive seen of them so far I'd move Saints up to competing they are no worse off than us, but other than that you're almost spot on. I think we will likely get a scalp at some point but will also lose another 1 or 2 we probably shouldnt. We would need a hell of alot of luck and i think we are more looking at 9th-13th but it is a bit foolish to say we have no chance.
  25. Isn't the point of being here to give opinions?
