  1. My biggest concern for the match is that Mumford injures Max with another intentional 'clumsy' act - there I said it so that should nix it!
  2. You also forgot to mention he consistently failed to give it off to teammates in a better position. I took great pleasure in regaling my Essendon supporting sister-in-law who I was watching the match with what an ordinary individual he is and why I was happy he had the game he had the week before, because now the Dons will have to give him another contract and watch him become smug and self-satisfied, get injured, comeback fat and lazy and underperform on 95% of his new contract.
  3. There is some logic. Clarko isn't attached to any of the players - he's probably the one coach that can come in and actually help Wright the ship in terms of salary cap (pun intended) by moving players on. An untried coach puts the list off-side immediately, but a four time premiership coach starts from ground zero otherwise they tread water until they actually really bottom out. Steele thanks for your service, but you're on the table. Both Browns - your dad was a great player at this club - neither of you will be - you're cut Chris Mayne, Levi Greenwood etc - DCM.
  4. 4 players in the top 20. Twice as many as any other club. We are having some sort of season
  5. Can’t see that happening Jaded. JJ is pretty much a defensively minded inside mid, I’m not sure he’s ever played half back, whereas Sparrow has, I think that would be the most likely move, but I think Jayden will be desperate to remain in the side. Salem would be the obvious one with ‘soreness’ if there’s a change in the back line. Lingers is the obvious in for a sore Salem - if he plays however, then I think they will reward Sparrow and push Melksham out of the 22. He could be medi sub or maybe Jones.
  6. Probably more likely to do a live cross during the event with him. I think from an MND fundraiser perspective it’s important that it remains flexible and agile.
  7. So 100% chance there will be a crowd then?
  8. The age are reporting we are likely to be playing at Giants stadium. I'm not sure it bothers Goodwin or the boys about which ground it is, but the SCG is a bit small.
  9. Vanders and Mitch Robinson going head to head. I like it!
  10. Well I live in downtown Belconnen, so I hope not!
  11. Canberra hopefully ?
  12. Geez we must be the luckiest side in football. The same thing happened against the Cats and the Tigers. Uncharacteristic mistakes and some of our players playing 'beyond' their abilities. Simon Goodwin how does he do it? I wonder if Derm has backed the Dogs for the flag?
  13. Thought I'd just add my 2 cents worth. Had a conversation with an ex-work colleague yesterday who'd just got off a video call to Brasil with one of their government departments. They have to recruit an extra 6,000 workers, unfortunately my friend was a little slow on the uptake and it took a further question from her before she realised, this wasn't natural attrition, they'd died from COVID. Also thought I'd add being vaccinated and being infectious aren't mutually exclusive that some seem to be assuming.
  14. Salem is presumably an in for Jetta if not then Lockhart. Viney hopefully is an in for Melksham if not then either Sparrow or Chandler need to come in for more defensive pressure (or if they wanted to be really daring they could bring in Bowey) Jones in as the medical sub.
  15. Agree Redleg. Excatly like the non-holding the ball. All you want is consistency.
  16. Absolutely. Insufficient attempt to keep the ball in... by who? At least with the Lever decision there was a Melbourne player in the direction of the handball, whilst the Adelaide player had plenty of opportunity to take possession before the ball went out of bounds but was appealing for the free before it had even crossed the line.
  17. I don't mind Richo, but the rest offer nothing. The quicker they get the only knowledgable footy person back on the team in Daisy Pearce the better!
  18. Well Done Nash. A few points in general, (not specifically about your post) - Viney would have helped, but he's obviously not the reason we're getting beaten in that area because it's been happening for a while and as others have pointed out - how important is it really? The first and second best pressure sides playing each other and we lost 4-17 and yet it really didn't have as much influence on the result as say the weather did. I feel over the last two weeks the opposition have really put a lot of work into us in that area. Guys like Kennedy, Parker and Cunnington are inside specialists and one of the biggest changes this year is we are far more outside the contest than we have ever been. I'm sure it's not the plan to lose centre clearances, but equally you don't want the ball to get outside the contest to clear air for a better kick into your defensive fifty. You can't have both, so how do you set up. I felt last night a lot of Hickey's influence was to keep the ball in tight to get Swans first hands on the pill and they were happy to get the scrambled kick out of the middle where as we flick it around until we can get a more precise kick away. Yes there was a lot of scragging and holding but there always is, it doesn't seem to effect either Oliver or Tracc in how they play. I think Yze has a look, but it's not a huge concern nor do we need to play any trump cards in terms of changing our centre square set ups at this time of year either. Roll on Dees!
  19. Hmmm not sure about that. It looked like a flick pass to me even though he used a closed fist made marginal contact with the ball. The momentum was generated from the hand holding the ball not the opposite hand - that's not a legal handpass in my book, or at least it wasn't when I played. The hand holding the ball needs to be stationary. I'm surprised at the number of overhead handballs that are allowed as well, this was never allowed 30 years ago. Perhaps I'm showing my age! ?
  20. I thought Petty was targeted by the Swans as the newbie, but didn't back down. He should have been paid that mark in the first quarter as well, but happy the umpires were at least consistent with their interpretations most of the night. Like you say he will improve his synergy with May and Lever over the year, but he's tall, has reasonable kicking skills and is competitive. He'll be better for the experience.
  21. A trip down memory lane - or in my case amnesia lane. I used to split my time between the two sites, but moved full time to 'Land to escape from the demented and fatuous ravings of Rono and his 'Veil of Negativity' - he was completely unhinged. Wish there was an ignore function for particular posters back then.
  22. The Allman Brothers Band Live at Fillmore East. My favourite Stones albums in order, Exile, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Beggars Banquet.
  23. I should've also mentioned that Jack is being more cautious/sensible in managing his body as well. There's only so many brick walls you can run through before your body says enough is enough!
