Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
There's also Robert Walls who left the Roys to coach Carlton - yuck. Unlike Blight he didn't take any time away from coaching.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Like Buckley he fell agonisingly short with his first club, but the pay off second time round was huge. The Crom arguably wouldn't have won back to backs without him.

Anyone for cricket?
I know some have issues with Pat Cummins as Australian Captain- but fair dinking Ben Stokes is a complete tool-banger as a captain - great cricketer. But exhibits the worst aspects of Pommy entitlement. Whinging because the Indians wouldnโt call the match off early to let his bowlers rest when two batsmen were within well deserved spitting distance of their centuries.

Anyone for cricket?
South Africa writing its own history. They've never made 280+ in a fourth innings in England and are well on their way to achieving that. Maybe losing won't be such a bad thing for the Aussies who will then be keen to show who the best in the world really is against the Poms this summer.

AJ Suspended
Curious- given the same action by Scrimshaw on Ridley concussed him. I know Iโm baying at the moon by calling out the inconsistencies of the process, but like many thankless jobs Iโm up to the challenge!

AJ Suspended
Can anyone help me out with how these are assessed? Bailey Humphrey was cited for swinging his forearm into the head of an opponent. It was a crude action and he immediately apologised to his opponent - which only served to highlight the indiscretion. His opponent like Brown was not concussed and played out the match. His grading was: Careless Conduct, Low Impact, High Contact. He received a fine for a first offence. I can't see on face value how the two can be assessed differently on impact.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Another feather in Peter Bellโs cap if he can manage this - he might have to throw in Nathan OโDriscoll to even it out though!

Predicted Round 1 Team to play GWS Giants
Marty was subbed off pretty early yesterday for Jed Adams - was he injured?

Predicted Round 1 Team to play GWS Giants
You've got two mids and two forwards on the interchange. Traditionally we have two mids, one defender and one forward on the bench to manage rotations. I think Howes will play rd 1. I like your call on Lindsay, but I reckon the FD will make sure he's 100% by playing him in the VFL to start with. Woewodin to play wing maybe with possibly Laurie or Melksham (if fit) to play sub.

2024 Phantom Drafts
From Fox Footy - noting that Armstrong according to the draft profiles is 195cms If Melbourne held Pick 5, the Dees could be the first club to consider key-position prospect Harry Armstrong. Clubs love the 193cm forwardโs penetrating left-foot kick, competitiveness in the air and mobility around the ground. Melbourne would also have the option of taking a star midfielder still on the board โ Langford and gun Gippsland Power on-baller Xavier Lindsaywere both linked to the Dees on Thursday โ but the risk would be seeing Armstrong land at one of the Tigers or Saints in the next lot of picks.

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
I doubt it- Tomo is 31 and his new contract will probably not attract any compensation for us at all.

Trade Targets
Weird in a Blake Acres kind of way. Played every game this year - although will miss their final through suspension. He's a low numbers player, but has kicked a goal in all but four games this year and is a reasonable pressure forward from what I've seen. TPP problems at the Blues?

Think it was just players in the circle, but included Clarrie, Charlie and Caleb who are all injured ATM. I think the only three players not there were Maysie, Tracc and Joel Smith.

James Peatling
I'm not sure opportunity will be the driver in his decision making though. Haynes and Ward going and at least one if not both of Perryman and Cummings means he will get opportunities next year if not in the finals this year. I think the Giants are pretty tight on their salary cap now and so it might be a question of security. The million dollar question for any list manager is how much is he worth in terms of $ and length in contract and will that be enough to get him to change teams? I suspect if we aren't in the 2 million over 4 year ball park we won't be in the running to prise him out of Breakfast Creek.

I agree with you - but my point wasn't about his character, it was whether his reporting was accurate - which I believe it is. It's just most Melbourne supporters don't want to hear it.
-
Christian Petracca
100% agreed with everything you said, but we've seen enough from the senior leadership at the club to know that the above won't happen. Any review will be commissioned by the President and headed up by the CEO - there won't be any self reflection there. My fear is this will be a smoke and mirrors exercise with a few sacrificial lambs... and as you say we have little or no ability to influence this.

Why, Morris at least is just reporting what he has been told. I get people don't like him for what he does so you can shoot the messenger if you like, but has any of what he reported proven to be untrue? As someone else alluded to he gets very strong mail re our club and always has. Personally I don't think he had to go digging for the story, I think it was given to him on a silver platter. Has Tracc been the best team mate he can possibly be? Some serious bridge-mending to be undertaken. * McClure isn't a real journo, just a fifteen year old trapped in an adult body fantasing he's making and breaking deals - none of what he 'reports' is actual reporting - it's pure conjecture.

Christian Petracca
Well not quite- crises at the club are usually preceded by periods of sustained mediocrity, this one was preceded by actual success - we will always have 2021!

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
I think thatโs a gross generalization - particularly where the routine or scenery is not or is no longer productive.
