    because he can't kick.

Curious- given the same action by Scrimshaw on Ridley concussed him. I know I’m baying at the moon by calling out the inconsistencies of the process, but like many thankless jobs I’m up to the challenge!

Can anyone help me out with how these are assessed? Bailey Humphrey was cited for swinging his forearm into the head of an opponent. It was a crude action and he immediately apologised to his opponent - which only served to highlight the indiscretion. His opponent like Brown was not concussed and played out the match. His grading was: Careless Conduct, Low Impact, High Contact. He received a fine for a first offence. I can't see on face value how the two can be assessed differently on impact.
  4. Another feather in Peter Bell’s cap if he can manage this - he might have to throw in Nathan O’Driscoll to even it out though!
  5. Marty was subbed off pretty early yesterday for Jed Adams - was he injured?
  6. You've got two mids and two forwards on the interchange. Traditionally we have two mids, one defender and one forward on the bench to manage rotations. I think Howes will play rd 1. I like your call on Lindsay, but I reckon the FD will make sure he's 100% by playing him in the VFL to start with. Woewodin to play wing maybe with possibly Laurie or Melksham (if fit) to play sub.
  7. Agree - I think he's probably jumped ahead of Marty Hore - play slightly different roles, but I think Adams offers more.

From Fox Footy - noting that Armstrong according to the draft profiles is 195cms If Melbourne held Pick 5, the Dees could be the first club to consider key-position prospect Harry Armstrong. Clubs love the 193cm forward’s penetrating left-foot kick, competitiveness in the air and mobility around the ground. Melbourne would also have the option of taking a star midfielder still on the board — Langford and gun Gippsland Power on-baller Xavier Lindsaywere both linked to the Dees on Thursday — but the risk would be seeing Armstrong land at one of the Tigers or Saints in the next lot of picks.

    deliberate perhaps. 🤔

I doubt it- Tomo is 31 and his new contract will probably not attract any compensation for us at all.
  11. Weird in a Blake Acres kind of way. Played every game this year - although will miss their final through suspension. He's a low numbers player, but has kicked a goal in all but four games this year and is a reasonable pressure forward from what I've seen. TPP problems at the Blues?

I'm not sure opportunity will be the driver in his decision making though. Haynes and Ward going and at least one if not both of Perryman and Cummings means he will get opportunities next year if not in the finals this year. I think the Giants are pretty tight on their salary cap now and so it might be a question of security. The million dollar question for any list manager is how much is he worth in terms of $ and length in contract and will that be enough to get him to change teams? I suspect if we aren't in the 2 million over 4 year ball park we won't be in the running to prise him out of Breakfast Creek.
  13. I think that’s a gross generalization - particularly where the routine or scenery is not or is no longer productive.

Unbelievable ride in difficult conditions- such a wonderful effort.
  15. The benefits of hindsight Ted. There were question marks on Charlie's attitude (subsequently caught drink driving in his rookie year and far more time on the sidelines than he should have had with his knee because he wouldn't commit to his rehab properly). He was always a talent, but it wasn't clear whether he'd be a tall mid or a shorter KPP. Carlton took the gamble and it's paid off, but it hasn't delivered a premiership yet and he'd want a better finals series this year or the comparisons with Gary Rohan will come. When you looked at Weid as a package you could understand why he was so attractive as a KPF prospect, he just couldn't get the last bit of the puzzle to fit.
  16. The Captain of Vic Country Toby Travaglia looked very good today. SA Welsh and McKay were also solid.
  17. Was Howes playing today?

It was unusual seeing him without strapping on his shoulders. I can't remember when he didn't have his shoulder strapped. I wonder why now - it seems like a big risk.
  19. Good exposure playing as a bottom ager in the national championships. Well done to the kid, obviously going to be a hot prospect.
  20. IIRC Kelvin also gave some of his salary back to the club because he felty guilty about not being able to perform consistently
  21. Previously used as a wingman. Hunter is listed at 183 and Lingers at 182 - Billings might be more than depth if he can find some form.
  22. Alternatively, it might say something about how he rates Richmond's list.
  23. Except that he made a conscious decision to run full tilt at an opposition player and should have reasonably foreseen he would make forceful contact with that player as a result. The end result is the shoulder connected with the head. He got it wrong - plain and simple.

So Grundy and 4 draft picks (4, 5, 24 & 34) for the #1 pick? I can't see that happening. The scenario is also contingent on Grundy nominating the Swans and from all accounts it looks like he will nominate Port.
  25. I assume being a Collingwood player it was a bottle of yellowtail?
