  1. There were about 7000 Roos fans there today, if that
  2. We have no forwardline - not to mention poor footskills
  3. Cheney was really good I thought, as was Jetta (disposal use questionable?) Bennell I thought was alright, great attack on the ball in the 3rd(?) quarter on the MCC wing
  4. Bate had an absolute 'mare. Petterd our best I reckon. Brock looked almost injured.
  5. Petterd Cheney Jetta Green Moloney Jones
  6. Pretty sure Mcguire would say that fully in the knowledge of playing the Dees next week. What better way to spark up the game? In the Kennett mould.
  7. I don't think they're selling any Cards, which is disappointing. Though my B'day is mid-April, so it could turn out well
  8. Azz, it's because I'm mental and my brain has melted because of uni, sorry mate! Perhaps attending matches is a very new concept as well?
  9. Rubbish. When NRL matches are played at larger venues, save for Suncorp, the result is a joke. They play in small grounds because they don't get large crowds, the small grounds do not stop them from pulling bigger numbers
  10. I have to chuckle. A New South Welshwoman saying she hopes Victoria draws a crowd. We have been through this before though, and don't wish to go back there. But yes, I do agree, the game should stay in the territory for who it is representing
  11. Absolutely Jaded, we should all back all clubs to remain as they are. The game has changed enough throughout it's history, but to see anymore Victorian clubs go would be heartbreaking.
  12. Sylvia, at present not best 22. No surprise. I'd like to see Bennel in action, also I'd like to see Cheney get a game. Down to Martin or Jetta for the last spot I hope.
  13. Enforcer, if it's about equity, then wouldn't each club simply receive the same amount? If the bigger clubs draw bigger crowds and therefore receive more money, then good on them. Why should clubs who draw smaller amounts of people to the ground (=less money for the ground) be entitled to receive more than the clubs who are bringing in most of the dosh?
  14. Pretty sure Rudeboy is a Pies man. Does anyone know Liam's actual height?
  15. Whelan will never, ever, retire :D Just thought I'd clear up the misconception. Play on
  16. Sylv, the Hawks only use 92.5% I believe. Probably most teams do
  17. I never said I didn't understand why HT, I just feel for the fans that lose the game for the sake of money....Not that I'll lose any sleep over it
  18. You're doing very little to convince me HT. The MCG is the Coliseum, couldn't give a stuff if NRL want to pretend that the other ground is one, I just don't like it. I know Melbourne is the sporting Capital of Australia, and can see why NRL would want to spread it here. However, a State of origing outside either state is ridiculous IMO.
  19. So if you're admitting the attitude of the 80's is different to the 21st Century, why would you bring it up?
  20. The use of "Etihad Stadium" as the Coliseum is a disgrace. No matter how you justify it. There is one Coliseum in Melbourne, and it certainly isn't Telstra Dome/Docklands/Etihad/Colonial stadium. Hate it. Almost as much as I hate seeing Ron Barassi in that ad about Docklands/Etihad/Colonial/Telstra dome. I personally think it's very sad that game 3 is played in Melbourne. I do feel for those North of the boarder, regardless of my feelings toward the sport.
  21. It has everything to do with the fact that when you go on tirades about "just going out to win" and "not accepting mediocrity," you are not facing up to reality. Are you saying that Hawthorn's attitude of bottoming out, before then becoming a competitive side step by step had nothing to do with them winning the Premiership? How can you say "the Hawks teams of the 80's expected to win, and did" (notwithstanding the quality of their list compared to ours) and then ignore the pathetic state their club was in as recently as the 2006 season? Honestly, i feel like it is a mediocre viewpoint. This attitude of "oh, the club just doesn't try to win enough" does not say to me that you have any grasp of the problems at the club, on or off the field. It is childlike in its simplicity and it does not apply to modern day footy.
