Whilst I can see that side of the argument, I really don't think Lucas has done much for a while and Fletcher is filling the gaps while the younger guys gain experience - for example on Saturday he didn't man Fev, but blocked the hole for him much of the time. I think they have enough youngsters to come through with confidence. You'd be nuts to talk down their youngsters whilst talking up our own

Great thread rpfc, we need reminders of where our team is at and this certainly indicates the upside of where we're at

Next year is where I will start expecting this club to start pushing up the ladder and from then on I will raise my expectations, espcially leading into 2012 where i feel we should be pushing up top. We simply have no leaders at our club to think about being competitive until at least next year and probably the year after, but we have the quality and self belief building at the club to push to the heights in coming years.

Bruce - For someone who is usually driven nuts by him, I thought he was really good today. Bennell looks pretty good and deserves to keep his spot. Spencer should come back into the team, probably for PJ. He's done little this season and I feel Meesen deserves a few games to show what he has to offer, giving someone one game is useless. Green is a gun, easily our best player. Sylvia - utter rubbish. Did nothing to claim a spot he didn't deserve and has done absolutely nothing to keep it. Bate had a pretty good game I thought, a big step up for previous weeks. I also rate Frawley and think he could be a decent player for the club. Jetta needs a few weeks off I think Mclean - is he injured? Petterd is a quality player no matter where he bobs up - which is part of the problem I think, we don't know where to play him. Another great spot for sport is the Charles Dickens Tavern on Collins St. Indeed, this is now where I'll be watching the game tomorrow. If anyone else have places they watch the games at, feel free to add the details in this thread so we can watch our boys play in numbers

I'd like to set up a thread so we can post where we'll be watching interstate matches, or for interstate fans to let people know where they'll be watching matches. I think it'd be good to have groups of fans getting together to watch the interstate matches, a good way of meeting people and following the boys with a few likeminded fans. I know the club does this at Bentleigh/Leighoak, so that's one venue. A group of fans, the mini-ox squad, usually go to the St Kilda Bowls club. Myself and a few other guys will be watching at the Recreational Hotel (a pub/restaurant) on Queen's Parade which serves some pretty good food too.
