  1. I have been a reserved M51 member for years. On the question of bringing a “guest” the club said it would not be to a reserved seat, rather as General Admission. I suspect there will be very few “spare” seats in the reserved seat areas for the next few years at least. Nice problem to have!
  2. The Dynasty will be determined about how hungry they are. Nice signs here. Maybe still a little hungover and husky, but nice signs. Go Dees.
  3. What a fantastic interview! Given the grand plan that went back to 2013/14, us humble supporters really should have had nothing to worry about! It’s an evidence based science, and as Tim said, our guys are clearly up there with the best! Go Dees!
  4. If you watch the old replays you will often find one of my favourite commentators Ian Robertson often referring to Melbourne as “the Elimination Final specialists” Great days and great atmosphere created by TV voices like Robbo, Drew, Tim Lane et al. Dare I say unlike our current crop of self indulgent “personalities” who think it is all about them!
  5. Max and Gus are the spiritual leaders of the group. Just listen to the podcast. Tracc will be captain one day, if he wants it, but now? How dumb would that be?
  6. As long as Scott and all his followers are feeling humiliated, then yes it does.
  7. The nauseating “brave bombers”, they’ve so much “upside” narrative by Hamish and JB was matched only by Luke Hodge’s attempt to clear Toby of all blame even before the game was over the day before.
  8. Wow, David King really does push the anti Melbourne agenda. Talks louder and louder as others try to moderate. Quite striking tonight on First Crack.
  9. They will use the last 10 days to galvanise the group. Maybe it will be the defining moment. Yes, I’ve had three heart attacks (thanks Teddy), but they did what had to be done - even in that last 15 minutes when the meth cokes were on a high, the maggots took maggotry to a higher level and the crowd was feral - we got the job done! Some significant winding down of the clock - and then Clarrie’s last clearance. Off to my cardiologist in the morning, but so proud of the boys and how they are responding to everything thrown at them. Just maybe the lightening was the last roll of the dice for the Norm Smith Curse. Dare to dream, go Dees!!!!!
  10. They had a crack. They appeared tired. But a brave “top of the table” loss must be in the context of the diabolical losses against Adelaide Filth and Hawthorn last week. Those losses will haunt us when we finish third or fifth and have to go where the AFL send us. On the maggots, is was the sheer volume over the night, the inconsistencies rather than obvious howlers. Maggot 1 will guarantee the Dees never get close. Always, every time. Cheat.
  11. As we have learnt over the last 18 months if you stay at home for the “big screen” coverage you also have the insufferable commentators to navigate. Cannot get to the ground quick enough today, Go Dees.
  12. Winning ugly is perfectly OK by me. Especially as the ultimate assessment cannot be made until the last week of September. As far as the booing goes, I missed it after quarter time, simply because I turned the sound down on the TV - not so much for the booing, but more so to shut out the insufferable, unlistenable drivel from the Channel 7 team. McLauchlan is unbearable with his forced barracking for those young gutsy bombers and disrespectful attitude towards the Dees, (and I suspect other teams who do not fit in to the corporate media narrative). Dare I say it, but I suspect the AFL got the better brother! (PS: For what it is worth, the maggotry was appalling tonight - for both sides, but certainly our lads seemed to get the rub of the green at times. However, this is no different to every game every week. Interpretation and inconsistency are the key issues - and S Hocking has a lot to answer for). Go Dees, one week, one challenge at a time.
  13. Since our lads have had recent prime time exposure, our family have learnt to turn the volume down on these excruciating clowns who claim to be commentators. Listening again tonight affirms that decision. Like 360 on Foxtel, it is simply not possible to listen for any length of time….
  14. Apart from loathing Geelong, it has to be the long game tonight. Yes, top spot is at stake, but a loss by Duckwoods mob at home is worth about 3 games I reckon. Go Dogs
  15. Just saw the interview on 360 - the dribbling clown was exposed again by questioning Trent about his time up forward and how he got shifted to the back line. Deadpan Riv replied with a “nah, I’ve played every game down back”. Great stuff Trent. Shoddy work, again, Robbo. Despite us winning, 360 is getting virtually unwatchable because of this bloke who rants and raves each night.
  16. And when the “Jonesy” chant went up from M51 after the game, Nibbler heard it and was laughing out loud, alerting his team mates to it and clapping the crowd! True inclusive leadership in my view. Fine work Nibbler!
  17. One week at a time.......winners are grinners.......nothing these clowns say can a) take back the 4 points, b) stop the quiet spring in the step each Monday morning after a win..... Go Dees - onwards to the next challenge!!!!!
  18. Keeping it personal for our Number 1. He gets 1 week for the practice match tackle in his debut year down at Casey. No one injured, significant debate about the MRP...... In May 2021, May hospitalised with a fractured eye socket to miss 4 weeks due to elbow contact, accidental or not. No 26 (with 7 citations in 5 years - thanks Titus), gets the benefit of the doubt! My god, Gill’s organisation is corrupt.....or have I missed something???
  19. I suspect as the season wears on the “stand” call will get less and less vigilant as the maggots get preoccupied with other issues. This inconsistency will infuriate supporters as maggots will continue to determine the course of games in a most random and inconsistent way.
  20. Gibbons kick - Cox jumping up and down on the mark!! Where was “stand”?
  21. Great dribbler by Gibbons, BUT - clearly out of bounds when he kicked. Commentators don’t bother with any insightful analysis. Too busy delivering pre-determined lines. What happed to the automatic goal review after every goal?
  22. I too was at that session back in 87. Another lasting memory was that slow warm down lap at the end of training, so close to the boundary fence you could touch the players. The air was simply electric. And when the boys entered the stadium on the Sunday afternoon, Robbie led the group to fence for their warm up lap, again to the frenzied cheering of the red and blue faithful who had waited 23 years. Genius strategy. We were never going to lose that day. That 6 week block leading into this game is etched on my memory and will last forever.
