Amazingly, approaching 50 year MCC membership, so cannot wait for access to slightly lower subscription (and the comfy seats!). However, I have never taken out the combined MCC/MFC package, because I always wanted to fully support the club (not the MCC) and to always sit with Melbourne people. Have been an MFC member since 1988, sitting in the defacto ‘reserved’ red seat area back in the day and in our real reserved seats in M51 ever since. Same faces, some new ones, watching mine (and other’s) children grow and mature, united in our love for our demon boys. Success comes and goes, players come and go, politics comes and goes, but the journey never ends! I see no reason to stop. Go Dees in ‘25.

I just wish the AFL (and Channel 7) would just stop the shameless lying and pretending that the votes are somehow secret. Corrupt. Dillon’s wife, the AFL website and hostess Madden clearly know. Like the MRO, just so corrupt.

As a true 57er, will never ever underrate one of the greatest days of my life. The greatest 40 minutes of football - ever!

Vale Ken. He was my Politics/Social Studies teacher in Year 11 (1974), when he was Chairman of Selectors. Quite a few of us were Demon supporters and Ken would get us into the rooms after a number of games. We actually spent far more time discussing team selection during the week, than the impending constitutional crisis of 74/75. Interesting times and seems just like yesterday. Ken was a true gentleman.

My god - if anyone saw the Channel 7 coverage tonight - Tracc looked so unwell. No wonder he will not face the media. Just leave the guy alone!

Clearly Butters has already won the Brownlow - he simply cannot buy a suspension. Corrupt AFL.

Probably will given a week - club and media firestorm to follow - then appeal - downgraded to fine. The AFL integrity machine will be working overtime. I think all of us who experienced the feral violence on that night last September have been forever scarred. Simple loathing and hatred for the filth. Always part of the cultural narrative, but now based on reality.

Another reason for sitting in the southern stand was that you could look across the ground, up the race to see when the boys ran out. Those were the days…..

Whoever mentioned a couple of weeks ago how to sync the SEN App commentary to the TV vision - thank you so much!!! No longer do I have to listen to the clowns from the official broadcaster. A life changer. As an asideI have just spent a quality half an hour explaining to my teenage daughter how football used to broadcast on the radio on a Saturday afternoon! “What, no live TV?” she said….. that’s another conversation.

Interested to see where Clown 21 (Cameron outside the boundary line) or Razor Ray or I think it was Clown 33 (jvr trip) end up this week. Even the Goal Clown (anonymous of course). Dropped? I’m suspecting not!

Not sure if people noticed, but Clown No 10 was running around on Friday night and then backed up in a Sunday game yesterday. This in itself is problematic about the “talent pool” especially as our AFL masters insist on 4 per game. (Happy to accept if this was a “last minute replacement”, but the talent pool argument should be of great concern.)
