  1. I think Goody is the new Voss - maybe a reasonable assistant coach. Maybe. The list to die for has gone backwards and soon our better players will start to look elsewhere. Time for Goody to walk.
  2. One of the best you will ever, ever see....... Never get tired of this....
  3. As with the players, the maggots are exposed in hub and frenzy football. Night after night, game after game we same the same clowns making appalling and consistently bad decisions. Tonight Maggot 11 is excelling. But of course he will running around again in a couple of days making the same appalling calls. Unfortunately, it’s not just Maggot 11.
  4. For me, last round 1987 will always be number 1, but this one was an absolute beauty - the ultimate suburban ground experience - getting there, getting in, the game itself and then getting out. Then getting home for the replay and the sublime commentary by Robbo et al. A ripping day at the footy. Gill and his clowns should reflect on this ultimate “match day experience”.
  5. Harmes very lucky, Rivers and Hannan dead set stiff
  6. A bit of a shout out to D. Burgess and the fitness team. Not a bad 4 day program with 2 smashing last quarters.
  7. A Neeld like embarrassment - disgraceful. Port players chuckling on the bench. Slow, inept, dumb football. Maggots queueing up to penalise anything in red and blue - and that was just the good parts of a wonderful two hours in front of the telly on a Thursday night. Cannot wait for the time this circus comes around.
  8. Just loving your work Colin!
  9. Maggot 16 seemed to have it in for us. Nonetheless, we have a pulse - and “with a game in hand”!
  10. Hopefully we are not as bad as Freo or Adelaide - just watched 5 minutes and saw Hogan refuse to chase on three separate occasions. What a wasted or dare I say it - overrated talent!
  11. Having flicked between the two games last night, I wonder how many of our bash and crashers (Viney, Harmsey et al) will be pinged for holding the ball under Commissioner Clarkson’s new edict. More importantly, I wonder how far into the game it will be until our collective unit realise there has been a change? Maybe just pre-game pessimism, but surely the time has come to find the “connection” that has been missing for so long. Go Dees.
  12. We had a moment the weekend before last when everyone else was playing - and we weren’t. I simply cannot imagine not having the Dees to look forward to. No matter how misguided, under performing or mismanaged the masses on this forum feel about us. Once we are gone, we will never, ever, be coming back. Worth thinking about.
  13. Just an empty flat feeling - if ever there was a time to imagine what it would be like have no Dees in the comp, now is that moment. When we get through all of this, It must never, ever happen. Watching the other clubs running around is hollow.
  14. Dirty David Williams
  15. Rance on Dirty Dave in the 3rd was worse. Head down, front on - by today’s standards would get a long long break. Earl on McKenna was ugly, but there was an element of side on with Earl being “helped” into the contest by his opponent. Nonetheless both Dave and McKenna very lucky lads! Long’s was just a pre-meditated dog of an act. Saw him, lined him up and went through him - classic Sheedy thuggery. I was behind the goals that day and got a pretty uninterrupted view.
  16. Handy first quarter by one of my favourites - No 9 A. Johnson
  17. Last round 1987 vs Footscray - symbolised that crazy last round. What more could you want?
  18. And of course the incomparable Doug Heywood leading the commentary! Different times.
  19. Traditional values, suburban footy, the game of the people, except there are no people!
  20. Early call, but the Baggers remind me a little bit (actually a lot) of our Neeld era club. Lots of very ordinary players, dodgy recruiting and “guns” who seem to be getting no better (Dow?). It seems they have put 30-50 games into a very ordinary list, and topped up the guns with very ordinary second tier players. Cripps a star, but apart from Walsh, no one else looking like it. Cheap shot by McGovern, then fell over like a pack of spuds. Ordinary! May they continue to suffer!!!!
  21. Agree. Barretr’s “yep” answers show him to be a very shallow interviewer. No interest whatsoever in the answer or nuanced dialogue. It shows he is a shocking listener and is simply keen to get to the next question. All about him, I suspect.
  22. Like most believe here, a fantastic appointment. Further, his “JLT” comment in the presser and subsequent off the cuff follow up was pure gold - Gil and his corporate jargon speaking clowns must be shaking in their boots. Goody’s face was priceless. Just love everything about Max!
  23. Victory for Burgess I reckon. Lots to like about 32, 36, 41, 15 and 20.
  24. Maggots are back. Crow 8 metre kicks and marks “paid” in the first quarter. “Play on” for Dees in second quarter.
  25. A incredibly significant game for me and my family. This was our terminally ill mum’s last game. As four generation Demon family, we went with mum every week. On this day as we walked with her slowly through the car park after Robbo had done the business, she quietly said “that’s it boys, I’m done. That will be my last game, but what a wonderful way to finish with a win like that” (against our mortal black and white foes)! She was gone a few months later, but we will always remember this day. Go Dees!
